Tim isn't the hall because Wide Receivers have a difficult time getting in. Andre Reed and Cris Carter aren't in yet. Tim is waiting his turn.
The 2nd problem is voters is trying to figure out what is hall of fame Wide Receiver is that played in the 1990's and 2000's because it became more of a passing league. A prime example is when Tim retired, there only was 5 players with 900 or more receptions, now there is 13. This year will 14 unless Reggie Wayne gets hurt.
to the guy who said i just replayed them. watch the video again. while several of the same plays show up more than once, they are from different angles and at different speeds. i was showing them from different perspectives to highlight their significance.
Man I miss Timmy. I would take him over any other receiver in the game today. He was the ultimate possession receiver. I'm glad I was able to watch him play. Go Raiders!
Man I miss Timmy. I would take him over any other receiver in the game today. He was the ultimate possession receiver. I'm glad a was able to watch him play. Go Raiders!
Great film of Timmy aka mr raider u brought back memories from the L.A days .Someone made a comment about Tim playing with at least 17+ quarter backs if he would of had a Joe Montana hof quarterback his numbers could have passed rice. But it is what it is , shanon sharp or Jerome Bettis are all secondary to BROWN. NFL please take note.
He was the best, he didn't have hall of fame QBs passing to him, always in different systems with different coaches and still had the stats. If he was on any other team he would already be in the HOF. It is BS that he has to wait even a minute to be in, I'm not just saying that because I'm a Raider fan, but because I'm a sports fan, and to do what he did quiet, no show boat crap just a great football player.
So then you're saying that guys like Brown and Rice only put up the numbers they did because they didn't play against Revis or Woodson ? They did play against Dion Sanders and Darrell Green who by the way are hall of famers and defined shutdown corner play . By your rationale any receiver who played before Woodson and Revis can't be all that good .
@MAJORDRUMMER Don't forget guys like Rod Woodson, Aneas Williams, Chris Dishman, Troy Vincent, Ty Law, Albert Lewis, Eric Allen, Ronde Barber, and Chump Bailey. Charles Woodson was drafted in 98 and played with the Raiders, so he only matched up with Rice once or twice, maybe. Did Brown Rice play against the best of the NFL in 2011? No, they played against the best Corner in their careers and they still manage to be the best in history PERIOD.
Tim Brown and Rice played in the era of shutdown corners. Deion Sanders, Darrell Green, Eric Allen, Rod Woodson, etc. People try and discredit Brown all of the time. That guy made gold out of rocks. Had no QB or supporting cast and still tore it up.
@HitBelow I would also like to add that Rice had Taylor, Owens, and Craig coming out of the backfield. Tim was double and triple covered most of his career.
@OettingerCroat Me too, I remember being a kid in grade school an not being "in" to anything yet . One of the first nfl games I ended up watching was L.A vs S,D with Jay Shroedrer at QB. the line wasnt blocking defense was messn up more penalties than anyone other than a raiders fan could ever imagine but 81 was wide open playn like they were down by 1 in the super bowl with a minute to go even though it was like 31-3 or something and I will never forget I tell my kids about it all the time

prolly the best Route Runner ever!! .. if he had a montana or a steve Young as a QB who knows what more crazy numbers he would of had.. Great Football Player!!
@itsverynice69 never mind Montana and Young. put him with Stabler or Lamonica and he would have had no peers, Just look at what those two guys did for a skinny white guy named Billitnikoff
It was as if age never touched Brown by the way... He was returning punts and kickoffs in his final seasons, and he could outjuke the youngest, sharpest players until the day he quit.
A classy man, an amazing talent, and one of the greatest players of the game of gridiron EVER to play: Tim Brown.
He is Mr. Raider; the iconic portrait of one of the NFL's greatest franchises (perhaps not lately, I admit...) Through team moves, good seasons and bad seasons, there was ALWAYS Tim.
I've watched football my entire life, however I've only ever owned one football jersey: an official, NFL Merchandise #81 of the Silver and Black... Mr. Tim Brown.
Yeah like you guys all said Tim brown didn't have a good qb throwing to him until rich gannon came to the scene and for like 7 years straight he had over 1,000 yards and led the NFL in recieving for those years too he's arguably the greatest WR ever or in the top 5 with Cris Carter Jerry rice Randy moss and Fred belitnekoff and plus raiders beat broncos 59 to 14 booyah baybay best raiders win ever my niggah
G.O.A.T... I Love Rice and grew up a 49ers fan and actually wasnt a raiders fan till rice went to Oakland. But its true Brown didnt have a Montana or a steve young and he put up INSANE #"s.. One of the greatest to ever play the position! P.S Chargers fans diddle their own bums... (I know so gross, I dont undestand why they choose to do it)
To me Tim Brown was the heart, soul, and blood of The Raider Nation. What I loved about Tim was not only his love and passion for the game of football, but the way he carried himself on and off the field, a very humble man that let his Actions on the field Speak louder than words off the field. In this day in age that's hard to do with the Wide outs in the game today. God bless you Timmy, wherever you are!! Go Raiders!!!
tim brown may be the best receiver in the last 20 years..think of the others considered better and their QB'S...the best brown played with is rich gannon...rusty hilger, jay shoeder, todd marinovice, vince evans..spelling doesn't matter..tim brown rocked with a crap ass team, better then rice, irvin, sharpe
Tim Brown belongs in the HOF. Problem is it'll probably take quite a few years until he gets in. Other great recievers like Cris Carter and Andre Reed have been eligible for a while now but still haven't been inducted. Brown and them will get there eventually, it's just a matter of time.
Tim Brown really was the heartbeat of the Raiders for over a decade. He was the last of the Los Angeles Raiders when he left the team. In 99' I was at a mall in Minnasota, and noticed a sports apparel shop. I went in and they had a Tim Brown #81 Jersey, which I quickly picked up. The shop worker told me that the Raiders had just picked up the Vikings old QB, Rich Gannon. Boy did the good times start rolling for Raiders fans about then! I still have the Jersey :)
@HitBelow was that a reply to me. btw, if u have ok qbs, scroing 100 tds but needing 17 years is like getting your first kiss at 25. good accomplishment, yet dissapointing considering the time it took
so are you peole blind to the fact that jerry in his greatness had TWOmajority passers i.e joe and steve on the other hand cris carter and tim brown played with and caught passes from a hodge podge of qbs im not making an excuse just a eye glaring point!! if cris and or tim played with joe and steve both would have been very close to 207 total tds maybe more
Brown was great, no doubt about it. However, people bitching about him not getting into the Hall are just wrong. First of all, inducting any other receiver in the same class as Rice would be a slap in the face. Wide receiver might be the only position in NFL history where the GOAT is indisputable, and that's Jerry Rice. Rice is on a whole different level than everyone else. Brown wasn't even the second best receiver that was eligible this year, Cris Carter was.
@yourultimatekiller Sorry but that does not fly. If you are a hall of famer then you are a hall of famer. Not voting anyone in just because of who else is being voted in doesnt make any sense. Like some how if you vote Carter or Brown in its gonna make Rice any less of a HoFer. Sorry but the politics of the HoF need to be flushed down the toilet. Give Brown a 2 HoF qb's and I bet he puts up Rice numbers easy!
Yeah, Brown was absolutely amazing, I grew up watching him my whole life and i looked up to him. When i was 4 I told my dad "Daddy I want to grow up to be just like Tim Brown.".
Nobody, I mean NOBODY tore up the middle of the field like Tim Brown!...And he was doing it when DB's were actually able to take off WR's heads. Can you imagine what he wouldve done with QB's with half the talent that Rice played with? Thanks for posting this!
I didn't even watch Brown play but looking at his statistics and these great highlights, it's an absolute travesty that he didn't get into th Hall this year. The man was well into his 30s and still embarrassing defenders.
underapreciating pricks not to mention all the good brown does for the community and what does rice do oh yea play on the spike network with rodman what a joke it is that brown didn't get in really dissapointing as a raiders fan i was looking forward to one good outcome for the year and that's stolen from us it's like having barry sanders on the ballot with emmit smith but keeping sanders out because smith has the records and y'all know it what garbage

Yes, MAJORDRUMMER Tim was the heart and sould of that team after he left they were well on the way to being one of the worst teams the league has ever seen, then Rich Gannon got injured and retired, then they traded Charles Woodson, acquired Randy Moss (which didn't do much good for them) gave Moss away, discovered how good Asomugha is, obtained Kirt Morrision a few years back, and got Richard Seymour... and sadly they still suck...
