  • ,,This noble continent (...) is the home of all the great parent races of the western world. It is the fountain of Christian faith and Christian ethics. It is the origin of most of the culture, arts, philosophy and science both of ancient and modem times.''

    Long live Europa !

  • Why is Winston Churchill in this video, He was against Britain being in a European Union. He only wanted France and Germany to unite so there would be peace. He was in favour of an Anglo-Saxon union with the Commonwealth Realm and USA.

  • Where is the people's vote to decide whether they want to be part of the E.U?

That's right, we don't get one

    EUSSR

  • IF THE UNITED STATES OF EUROPE WAS REALISED THEN WE WOULD TAKE OVER THE WORLD ON ALL ACCOUNTS. BUT WHO WILL RUN IT? BRITAIN IS THE MOST SUCSESFUL IN TERMS OF BANKING,GOVERNMENT,HAS THE BEST ARMY, YOU CANT HAVE SOMEONE FROM SAY,FINLAND OR NETHERLANDS RUNNING ALL EUROPE. IT SHOULD BE THE QUEEN. SHE HAS A BRITISH AND GERMAN FAMILY.

  • @british123able The Queen doesn't even run Britain... and it won't be run by any single country it will be run by all European countries.

Also, Finland and the Netherlands are just as good as Britain. Infact the Netherlands is probably better in terms of lifestyle and government.

  • Long live the EU <3

  • "If forced to chose between the oceans and Europe, I would always chose the oceans" Winston Churchill.

  • He prefered the WAR at the oceans than the WAR in motherland EUROPE ! (UK - QUEEN OF OCEANS)

  • We in Britain are against the EU because it is totaly undemocratic full of communist eu beaurocrats who ignore both sovereign rights and democracy. A pointless left wing idiotic socialist crap idea stealing all Britain's wealth thanks to our useless tosser gordon brown who is a marxist himself. Cooperation free trade and envionmental policies are the only use for this disfunctional state of europe. will create more not less resentment within Europe especialy as noe the eu zone is bankrupt.

  • @TPerei1 Speak for yourself.

  • @TPerei1 it is sad that it is only mostly you in britain denmark and norway who can see how stupid this whole EU dictatorship is.. Only when the people of europe are being treated badly will they want to rise up and revolt, when it is too late. Havent we learned from the past? it seems we have not. tribute to the anti EU people, please keep informing the sheeple about the truth about this evil EU

  • Jacques Delors confirmed this, in Le Monde on 3rd May 2000, by saying: "Even that great European, Winston Churchill, envisaged European integration only for the countries of the European continent, not for Britain."

  • I sometimes get the impression that the British are against the EU simply because they are big-headed (just like the yanks) everything that's British is perfect and everything that's not is just wrong: that's why they have that useless piece of meat called a queen as head of state, just to be different from most countries

  • @fzam0009 The ones who don't like the EU are the loudest ones on the internet.

  • I don't believe the EU could ultimately benefit any of us in a supranational way, however in an international way it could ..... the idea of some kind of european empire is a scary prospect indeed.

Why are some people so wrapped up in Europe being a military super power, who do you wish to attack and why?

It's true, I do dislike the EU in the form that it's in.

Oh btw, Einstein was a Jew and moved to the US in 1932, no need to say why!

  • Without the eu, britain would not have acuired the panavia tornado, the EF2000.

When einstein was born there was no EU.

He was born in germany too.

The LHC is build largely with support of the EU. Britain is contributing too.

You rather would cut the support, and build one for yourself. You only hate the EU when its not benefiting you.

  • Hang on "E=MC^2", wasn't that from a Swiss patent clerk .... what the hell has that got to do with the EU. .... The Swiss have the sense to keep out, no wonder they breed genius!

  • Yeah but the Nazi came in and out of their country as they pleased. They must have done something so Germany did not invade them all the way... Get a clue moron.

  • That was a very random reply and nothing to do with the present situation ...... unless you're equating the EU to Nazi Germany in some way .... try to debate in a structured and meaningful way please.

  • greetz from the netherlands ! :)

  • Last time i checked italy and france payed more milions for support for the EU than britain did.

  • France has been one of the main benefactors due to the CAP and Italian contribution is laughable.

  • @0307nik

    " Long Live Europe "

Greece..........PAY UP, may the eu DIE and democracy be reinstated once more across Europe

  • FU brits what have you done ever for europe, other than whining about how much you hate europe and how much you pay for europe. Were not talking about 1940. Its 2009 for gods sake.

  • We pay europe millions a day. The arguement had nothing to do with "europe". It's about the age old argument of classical liberalism vs central control. .

  • "Classic liberalism vs. central control" ..... Bang on!!

  • motormonkeyNL.

Are you saying that Britain hasn't done anything for Europe? We took a lead role in defeating Hitler and we pay £40 million a day to support the EU, so I think I / we can say that we have done a lot for Europe. And that £40 million a day can help our country.

We don't actually hate Europe because we are part of it, but we hate the EU.

  • @zBloodD3monz Defeating hitler was not all we did for europe. Remember we defeated the keiser in WW1 and defeated Napoleon before that. 3 times we have sent our sons and daughters to die in wars to stop dictatorship in europe. I thinks thats why we are pretty pissed off that all that was done in vain as we see the rise of the dictatorship of the EU.

  • Churchill also said "But we have our own dream and our task. We are with Europe, but not of it. We are linked, but not comprised. We are interested and associated, but not absorbed."

and that "If we British are to choose between Europe and the open sea, we will choose the sea".

  • that guy was a fucking idiot, how can anyone be so stupid and degrade these great nations with refferring to them as states, europe is simply to great, common people just cant see it

  • U.K is in a huge financial truble!!!

  • Well, as many politicians have stated, Britain is one of the most highest contributers to the EU. We paid the second most amount in Europe. How is that fair?

  • What?! Germany, Netherlands, Austria for example pay much more than you guys my friend. Its ridiculous, I have friends from Germany, France, England and everybody is believing and moaning the others gets more.

  • dont worry you will get it all back and more, you help us we help you

  • I am against the EU.

I know it could be a good thing, but I don't think it works when the UK is the most hated country in the European Union.

  • Why?

  • Say ''NO'' to EU

Britain's membership of the EU costs us £60 billion a year. And what do we get out of it? Our money just helps to carry shit holes like romania and bulgaria!

    GOD SAVE THE QUEEN

  • no, not save the queen, God save Britain.

  • Or perhaps God save us all?

  • I don't want to ruin it for you. *silently* But there is no God ;)

    Long live Federal Europe.

  • I'm an agnostic (I'm not sure whether there is a god or not). I am however, sure that I believe in no Federal Europe.

  • @RWBNick

It would not be hated like that if you would give anything else than opposition to us.

  • europle has never been united the only time it has in history is when it has been forced to do so and with out cotanewaty how can you build something like that with out asking the people of europle owe i know the eu parliament did but they couldnt take the answer they were given when they gave the irish a referendum and now they want to forse the irish to vote again how undemocratic can you get when the rest of europle didnt even get a vote

  • Do me a favor, please...Go back to school!

    Thanks

  • put down the daily mail, and actually think for a second bro.

  • yes but Winston Churchill also said that Britian wasnt to become part of europle but was to work along side her witch we Britian doent need to be a part of the EU and before u say the jobs that depended on the EU wouldnt be lost because we wouldnt stop trading with them

  • Remember when he said that we still had an empire that ruled large parts of the world. He did not think we needed to be part of the union to maintain our strong position on the world stage. But times have changed, we no longer control large parts of the world and there are other powers now such as China and India.

Today we must be part of the union.

  • if that is so then we should get what we signned up for whitch was the commen market nothing more

  • The EU couldnt of become what it is today if the Uk was opposed to it. Are elected governments of past and present have ratified EU treaties where they are meant to be done.. in Parliament.

Once again im sure people would rather have a referendum on things such as the war in Iraq / Afghanistan. Bringing back the death penalty / corporal punishment than on the European union Lisbon treaty. They only promised to hold one to keep support of THE SUN in the election.

  • change the record u seem to say the same thing all the time

  • Because things havnt changed since the last time we talked. The anti European camp such as urself also say the same things over and over again, the difference is sometimes its outright lies and crap. Things i have said are opinion or fact not false statements to scare people

The European Union is good for the UK. Labour, Conservatives and the lib dems all back Britains membership of the European Union. UKIP or the BNP who oppose the EU will never win enough seats

Sorry the EUs here to stay

  • u dont even think that being forsed into something is wrong without the referendums the polition promised u must really hate Democracy other wise u would take on borded what people say and actuly do a little bit of reserch into the EU and why the people are so against it and why they will never accept a United states of europle with out the people having there say and its u who try and scare people saying britian cant even Survive without the EU

  • Labour should never of promised a referendum anyway, they only did it to keep the SUN happy. Most people didnt vote for labour again because they promised a referendum, its not a major issue for most voters.

Besides they havnt lived up to other promises either, like tough on crime. I like democracy however i support the authority of our parliament. Referendums on treaties and certain policies are not needed.

Like i said before id support an in / out referendum.. but not rushed

  • the main thing for me is the lisbon treaty/EU constitution would give the EU the power top control ever aspect of our lives and as for labour not promiseing if you dig deep u will finded that we have two eu members that were ejected from our own parliament into the EU and that will just keep on happening till we pull out of the EU or till it collapses in on it's self so the best way forward is to lision to the people and do what they say after all they are serpose to be public survents

  • The EU Lisbon treaty is not perfect, i would of liked to seen alot more reforms which are seriously needed. There are a few things in it that do concern me however over all we wont wake up the morning after lisbon is ratified and find we are being ruled by brussels and livin in some evil super state.

What parts of the Lisbon treaty do you have serious problems with? Remembering Britain does have opt outs and as a major contributor to the eu budget we are able to defend them.

  • our freedom is going to brussels thats why the hull of the eeu not just us need to have a referendum and maybe get better people running it than thows prats that do

  • I totally agree the EU needs better leadership, more democracy, less corruption and to listen more. It also needs to stop trying to introduce policies or proposals that are beyond its authority.

Despite all of these problems the EU is still a good thing for all European countries. Can you atleast see the advantages of being part of the largest economic market in the world?

  • BritishWatcher, it is the entire point with and in the nature of the European Soviet Union to make proposals and legislate laws which should be, but ARE NOT, beyond its authority. The EU started off good as an economic community, but since then it has moved to a single currency, single EU citizenship, legislative, judicial and executive bodies, MASSIVE bureaucracy, little or no transparency and no possibility for the Peoples of Europe to have a proper say (the EU Parliament is a joke), etc.

  • They do have a proper say. They elect national governments which sit on the council. They elect MEPs which sit in parliament. These two groups go on to decide who runs the European commission for a fixed period

If we all had a single vote for the president of the European Commission he would have a democratic mandate to act like the president of Europe. Sucha vote would be the fastest way to a Federal United States of europe

Where as at the moment there are several presidents of the EU

  • ...so you're agreeing it's the same as the Soviet Union then, which had two chambers as well: the Soviet of Nationalities, which is our European Parliament, and the Soviet of The Union, which is our European Council. So, the whole purpose of national elections is to send the puppets to Brussels? The European Commission is the Government of Europe, and it is unelected and unaccountable to anyone, especially us. This is a dangerous centralization of powers. And this is why it's called the EUSSR.

  • Coming strong from a guy who has a fetish with Adolf Hitler.

  • I have done some research on the EU, i have listened to alot of people against the EU but their arguments are usually very weak. The only thing i strongly agree on is cost / wastage and corruption in the EU parliament and brussels in general. However we shoulnt just walk away but push for reforms

We dont disolve parliament because they waste our money do we. I dont want a United States of Europe either, im BRITISH first european second. When being in the EU is more bad than good ill oppose it

  • u tend to forget that most of Britians trade is done outside of the EU and it's free when we trade with the eu it cost us

  • Now ive never said Britain wont survive without the EU. However if we leave the European Union it will cause an economic crisis in this country with serious implications. (especially as the SNP in scotland would take adavntage of the English voting the UK out of the EU, that would destroy the United Kingdom)

Whilst not being in the EU wouldnt kill us, wed have less influence on the world stage and if we wanted access to EU markets like Norway has wed have to comply with things u hate anyway

  • sorry ur not very convicing m8 the most of the uk want to remain part of the uk i agree that at some point we will give northan ireland back to the republic of ireland and as for the SNP who are they trying to foul they dont want indepence if they did theey would have gone for it already all they are is a old fashion irish republicans in scotish clouths

  • I agree at the moment most people support the union and if they held a referendum on scottish seperation theyd lose. However lets just say Britain did hold a referendum on leaving the EU and we left leading to an economic disaster.. it would cost us billions to pay for the transition alone. Such economic troubles would help the SNP argue they will have more success as part of the EU than in the UK.. and they might be right in that case.

  • sorry ur not scaring me or anyone else

  • with that comment

  • Im not trying to scare you into supporting the European Union, ive said many of the positive things that makes our membership of the union so important.

scaring people is on both sides.. Hows saying the EU is taking away our freedom or they will rule every aspect of our lives not doing the same thing?

  • i will say aagain i think that sscotland has it'ss own Stone age family in there parliament im sorry like u i hate thee SNP to thats what we can both agree on

  • Good note to end on.. Down with the SNP. night :)

  • Oh and as far as im aware atleast 50% of our trade is with the European Union, now thats a HUGE part of our economy. If we want to trade with the EU like Norway does we have to allow EU workers to live and work here.. (like we do now) wed have to comply with eu legislation (like we do now) and wed have to contribute to the EU budget for the right to trade openly with them (like we do now)

Sure wed pay less and have to comply with less regulations.. But wed also have NO say over it.

  • Why aren't the idiots that are meant to be spreading the pro-EU message not showing stuff like this on TV?

  • Well in Britain its because they cant be bothered. Labour doesnt want to upset Rupert Murdochs media empire (The SUN / The TIMES) so when possible they simply pretend the EU isnt there. The conservative party still has some deep divisions over the EU so rather than losing certain MPs who are anti Europe they ignore it as much as possible aswell

That just leaves the Lib dems who nobody listens to and lack funding. In the end we only hear the hardcore anti voices like UKIP

    They should show this

  • Saying that i do like the way we in the UK are untrustyworthy of the EU. There are risks to the way some powers are transfered to the union, some countries are so pro European they just pass treaties with no debate at all thinking its a good thing. Atleast here theres huge debate over it, even if the population ends up being against something no matter what

  • The EU is VERY good for all the countrys involved but the countrys in the eu are becoming to close and losing there sovereignty to brussels... that i not a good thing at all.

  • Great video thanks for uploading

  • London vs China or USA.... 1 VS 200 000 000 or

    1 vs 5

Please be smart say London within Europe !

  • let me put u right Sir winston churchill said that Britian was to work with Europle but not as a part of her

  • Dont forget when Winston Churchill said we should not be part of it we still had our empire and ruled large parts of the world.. times change. :)

Britain must remain part of the EU, its good for Britain, Europe and the world.

  • fuc the eu...fight back lads

  • good!

  • look WInston also said Britain as a destiny of her own to follow meaning that this did not include Britain you mong.We dont have the same culture same language different way of living etc etc this will one day lead to another war

  • Good video!

  • churchill said britain as a destiny of her own you thick get
