Keep in mind the people in Cuba are often illegaly imprissoned. There is no such thing as a lawyer. If the police thinks you did it, thats it. Theft, yeah that goes on in Cuba same as here but a little different. Cuban people don't have anything to steal from each other. They steal back from the Government who take their homes and property. I agree. If I may add. In Cuba, you have to join the military, unless you attend college. Food is very limited. There is no words in any dictionary that can describe how limited food is. A doctor makes $8 month. Many of those thieves and thugs are those who stood up against castro. Yes there were crooks in the bunch.
