The snare is from a record called subsitution recorded by Mel Bliss

sorry but the snare from Mel Bliss sounds totally different. This snare is a lot crunchy/cracking and has a longer decay/release. Mel Bliss has real drums. Pee wee has a drum machine.

I was WAY into this during junior year of high school. It came out during the spring when I was in track and field. I remember some inner city kids had their boom box blasting this. That was the first time I heard it. (1986). I never knew who the artist was until around 2003. Thanks to the internet and youtube....I can revisit those great memories. ,,,,and thanks to the guys on that track team competing against us white kids from Brookfield I got to be exposed to pioneering hip hop.
