  • just be happy, and enjoy music :)

  • I've also heard that because of an arrow to the knee she gave up singing, tragic

  • I think this song is more deep and esoteric then most people realize, It's very clever and sounds like a heart crying out to the stars

  • No.1 when i was born <3

  • @CharlotteGotzDeMovez samies :)

  • Classic !! ( from Greece )

  • I so love the lyrics and music of this song, it's hauntingly truthful -3

  • what happened to tasmin she just disappeared ?

  • @piggiesify I've heart she is now enjoying her life with friends and she travels all around to follow her favourite soccer club on the matches... :))

  • she is got only one song that's all

    funny story

  • Don't blame our beautiful moon for being an irresistable goal. We had to go. We may never return. People have changed. I was a seven year old watching the Eagle land on a portable black and white tv that friends of my parents had brought to a campground in upstate NY. The images were primitive, yet distinct. Even then, I was aware that something awesome was taking place, history in the making. Everyone on the whole planet was up there with these brave heroes, bouncing around as our hearts leapt.

  • kindheit :)

  • This song distills out the essence of the beauty that transpired even so. There is no doubt that something great occurred: men left this planet in a long driven dream to reach another world. It happened. Never mind everything else. That is a given, and can't ever be taken away! We must both at once remember the greatness, the magic of the history and pride of the Eagle. And at the same time remember that we have still so far to go. And next time, it should be for the right reasons. Lunar legacy.

  • You can't blame the moon for capturing our attention. And we made it there, physically. So long ago. But our motivations were not totally clean. Risks were taken in the name of political dominance of tactical advantage, weakly disguised as patriotic heritage. So many things were lost. Great things that were lied about. One side of the face was saying that this was a triumph for all mankind (the U.S. was behind in the space race!), the other voice was so much chest-thumping. A giant leap even so.

  • I heard this song as a child and loved it the words r a little sad n gloomy but n a good way

  • i wonder..what is the meaning of this beautiful song..i am sure everybody has his/her meaning..

  • I just love it... Makes me feel, like I'm not on this planet...

  • We are the sleeping satellite.

  • No mere coincidence that this is the only song that remains on my favorites list. You can only have one favorite!

  • The subtle power of this is that it's not even about the lunar landing, how man lost his way to adventure 40 years ago. No. The significance is more. It could be about discovering lost romance, or abandoning cures for disease, or for understanding how close we were to equality among the races. It's about seeing potential in mankind, and wondering what what wrong. The mystery is that for every step we seem to have taken back, the fight has endured behind the scenes to reemerge victorious someday.

  • What's the font?

  • ...so much thanks to put this in here...so nice quality and original....kisses and much thanks for so such a nice song

  • My mum tells me this song reminds her of me because it was number 1 in the charts when I was born <3

  • Great lyrics, great melody, great Song! =)

  • Something tells me this song means more than just the Apollo 18 landing ;)

  • So beautiful! I loooove this song, takes me out of this world!

  • Perhaps, just perhaps, this song somehow reached to the reason for the whole situation! Can I glorify this song enough? Our greatest achievement is our appreciation of how far we got. No matter what else happens. NO MATTER WHAT ELSE HAPPENS! We have this: The whole race of mankind can rest easier that we did this. It happened. And it can never, NEVER BE TAKEN AWAY! No matter what turmoil and trials await the future, we can say, "We got off this rock under our own power by intellect and bravery!"

  • Like our soul, stripped naked of atmosphere, but still there. Longing to be acknowledged, understood as a life giving force equal to anything else in the cosmos. An existence residing within a subtle pull of our constant companionship, never showing a face exactly the same, throughout all its phases. A pull greater than our own sun's, (relative to Earth's position). Tidal strength is greater by near proximity within the system, yet it's center of mass follows us somewhere deep within our mantle.

  • There's something beautiful, and friendly about the moon. It's always been there for us to behold.

  • Something, a kernel, remains beautiful, harkens back to an innocent childhood dream we can hardly believe. Like our greatest Christmas, and we wonder, did we REALLY get all those toys we wanted? Yes, it happened, and it can not be taken away! Eagle has landed! We revel in that. But it was long ago, and the toys, scattered and broken. Our heroes, older also. Some even left the planet for good. If you're lucky enough to remember that first landing, then you will carry it as a badge, knowing pride.

  • My psychic impression is that this latched on to a cosmic principal: that time is running out, that we need to glorify in what achievements have been done, to gather memories, not demand unrealistic perfect endings, but to bring only those things that have given our life epiphonies.Take only those things that are dear to us. There is no time to think of that cake we didn't bake. No time for drying the laundry. No time to read the paper. Just scan the headlines before descending that fire escape!

  • And there's just a chance that we WON"T get back! We may have to cut our losses and gather our greatest treasures as we are scurried into the last moments of the other storms coming. Grab those things that mean the most to you as the end approaches. And make no mistake, these questions carry a greater weight: as our knowledge increases, so the time runs out. The more we know, the closer we get to the last drops of time swirling down. Gather the precious moments from your life and take them with.

  • We can't blame ourselves too much though. Mankind is slowly coming around to find better reasons to go. But this was a long time ago now. The U.S. Government was still dealing with even the most basic human rights issues, another political front in Vietnam with it's own power plays, nuclear escalation, and just developing color television! We did alright to get there under those circumstances. If another person never sets foot on the moon again it won't matter as much as that we got there once!

  • And this sleeping satellite, our moon, is innocently awaiting our understanding.

  • The space race got us there. But once the race was won... If I may interpret: This song is about the circumstances that surrounded the greatest achievement of mankind, the landing of the Eagle on the surface of another world, and how the reasons for going somehow were too political and shortsighted, to let more important reasons than military chest thumping to enter into the long term equations, like quest for knowledge, beauty of self-understanding, or sheer adventure of getting off into space!

  • Thanks, the lyrics, the pristine, powerful quality of sound! The photograph befits this pondering song even better than any video. Totally superb. Her voice alone moves with its sincerity, the way it cries to God himself for answers! And the answer becomes THIS song as it happens! The frustration of where we seemed to be heading, and how it took a turn. But the beauty is that it did happen, leading to the conclusion that we savor that era, our pinnacle of achievement. Excitement implodes to US!

  • I love the 80's and 90's one hit wonders they bring back so many good memories

  • Can you please tell me, what do you call the font used for the lyrics?...

  • This song is so beautiful! There's no comparison with the music from nowadays.

  • Oh my god! I was 22 when I've heard this perfect song. I'm getting really older but still playing with toys... :)

  • Love this song, sung with so much feeling....I don't know what it's about, but it always make me feel romantic lol :P

  • One of the most talented singers of the 90`s.

    This song is incredibly beautiful!!

  • This song definitely does sound like it's about our lack of respect for the environment.

  • Thank you very much! awesome quality!

  • Fucking adverts on youtube !!!

  • Bigger than life!!! Or as we say here in Rio de Janeiro: "Demais!!!"

  • I always liked this song but have never been sure exactly what it's about. Can someone please elucidate?

  • @setunle I think is about respect for our planet.

  • @Monainmortal

It is about the Apollo Moon landings - Did we go too soon? was it too costly?

Did we run out of steam by rushing to beat others to it?

    Check out the lyrics.

"The Dream that died with the Eagle's flight"

"Did we fly to the Moon too soon? Did we squander the chance in the rush of a race?"

"Still we try to justify the waste"

"Have we lost what it takes to advance? Did we peak too soon?"

    etc, etc...

  • @setunle or (rather) about wasted love

  • @setunle I believe it refer to the Apollo Missions

  • @setunle I listened one interview with Tasmin Archer and she said that the song had been about Apollo mission. for example dream died with a Eagles flight. The Eagle was name of landing module of Apollo 11. And the seas still dry is for example about Sea of tranquility on the moon.

  • what's the name of the font you used? its beatifull..
