@Aucteg I was young, cocky, inexperienced, and on a bit of a high after being taken for a full drift run in a friend's car a few runs before. That a straight enough answer?
@Lokiito503 Thanks. I really appreciate that, I'm getting tired of people talking down on me, I've been as humble as I can possibly be about the whole thing and people still feel the need to take their shots at me.
@zVlPERz I wish lol. Since I was out at the track, I signed a waiver for all insurance coverage to enter and drive on the track, as does everyone else who drives on it.
dang! dont u think u may have over reacted just a bit on the repairs? all i saw was sum scrapes and scratches and u pretty much rebuilt the whole car! lol. nice job tho
@STREETRACEN4U I honestly wish it was an over-reaction. The front bumper was screwed because I had the fog lights in before, rather than replace the fogs I decided to upgrade the bumper. The one fender was dented awkwardly so it couldn't be repaired, and the one headlight was screwed. Those parts alone came to just about $1,000. Headlights are PRICEY >_<. Then the windshield and dents from the 4x4 hitting the window frame, I figured may as well do the whole car, take care of the door dings lol.
@KiddoAP1 lol ok, just makin sure there is more too it then that, on my car i really dont care too much if i get a few scrapes every now and again, dont get me wrong i love my car and im in the process of "pimping it out" and i think if its a scratch on the paint its just a waste of money too fix it. its not like i have a custom paint job or anything (yet!) lol. but u got nice vids.tho il subscribe
dude not even that bad of a crash my wife hit a dumpster at 10 mph and had more damage then that. loads of oversteer on the early s2ks night and day difference when i went from 2000 s2k to a 2006 s2k more balanced and rev is 8.2k
@YZ125ups I know!! I hadn't seen a Moon Rock one in person until after I had the paint job done, I'd only seen pictures and thought it was a so-so color, but I ran into one when I went on my trip to Edmonton and thought it was gorgeous. Ah well, what's done is done, I mean, it's not Berlina anymore lol.
i just crashed my s lastnite..i have really bald tires..plus wet ground due to rain..and dumb coyote ran out in front of me...didnt want hit the fucker so i tried to avoid it..well i did and ended up hitting the rail..my car is still drivable but shes broken...i hope my insurance can fix it...
Man that sucks...I don't see a reason insurance wouldn't cover that, I mean, there was nothing more you could do. Earlier in the year I hit a stationary muffler pipe in the middle of the night on the freeway because I couldn't tell what it was until I was close enough to hit it, they covered that. Thankfully you have insurance coverage, everything with this crash came completely out of my own pocket...man my wallet is hurting lol.
@KiddoAP1 yea im gonna be a grand short when its all done...my deductable is that much..if i had hit the coyote it would have only been 500 bucks...and wow...you paid that much money out of your own pocket...thats alot of money my friend...your car looks great though..way to keep it as stock!
@KiddoAP1@KiddoAP1 yea im gonna be a grand short when its all done...my deductable is that much..if i had hit the coyote it would have only been 500 bucks...and wow...you paid that much money out of your own pocket...thats alot of money my friend...your car looks great though..way to keep it as stock! i do have a question did you choose not to have an ap1 bumper to be installed?
I wanted something different, when I had the AP1 bumper I had the EK9 fog light mod done, it seemed kinda tacky, I'm not too big of a fan of the AP1 bumper by itself, and I wasn't willing to shell out the money for an AP1 lip to make it complete. I like the way the AP2 front bumper looks, despite not liking the headlights, so I did that. Short answer, I was being cheap lol.
That's a whole lot of damage from what appeared to be a relatively minor crash, but glad you weren't hurt out on the track. As for the paint job, the color looks absolutely fantastic!!! :-D
Thanks for sharing, the finished car looks great : ) Seems a lot of paint damage for a minor accident unfortunately.
Nice to see some youtube modesty about the cause too - before long there'll probably be a load of BS comments about what you should and shouldn't have done in order to avoid the accident, from 16 year olds who've never even sat in an S2k, but please ignore : )
I have an S2K now but I spun my previous MX-5 on the road - it happens so damn fast! By pure luck I had no damage
@KiddoAP1 6.5 G's Man That's a Lot , with that money you could've had Full J's racing Bolt on's plus a K Pro ECU and may be spare money for New wheels as well.
I would have preferred to not spend the money all together...I like to keep things OEM for the most part, but yeah. I guess that's the risk you take when you go out to the track. Indeed the car does demand your respect when driving it at the limits, I still love it though.
OH MAN! hahah well looks good!

@AngelFireXI Yeah, feels bad, man. My wallet is still crying over it. On the plus side, I just rolled the car over to 90,000km tonight.

@KiddoAP1 ouch lol. wow nice!! its relatively low mileage considering its an AP1. i have an AP2 and i have 43k miles on it and counting :D

@AngelFireXI It's the best looking back at that mileage and thinking of just how much the car has been enjoyed.
