@scott33195 I know exactly what ur talking about. I'm in south east texas and my dad is the exact same way. I haven't come out yet. I'm pretty sure my mom will take it less hard, but I know my dad will flip. I think I might wait until I'm out of the house and have done alot more studying of the bible to make sure when i explain it to my parents I know that I have God's given word in me. He went crazy and added a computer blocker, blocking all the sites that can support me and are thinking of making me go to a private school T-T

The part about giving parents time is so true. It can take years for the person that is gay to come to terms with it themselves it will take parents a long time too.

today i came out to my mom im 16 years old i have a gf.how did i come out i waited you know to see how she would respond you know how she felt about gays in general.i feel if your parents love you they would never love you any less if your gay or not your there child.i didnt plan anything she asked for my phone and she was asking who is this who is that.but this was never the first time she went through my phone.the thing that held me back at first was that she is a prophetess.

I was basically forced into telling my parents through a series of events a few months ago. It felt like a huge weight was lifted...but they don't approve or understand. I have actually kind of given them the impression that I can change...even though I know that's not the case.

While this video is totally awesome I wish I'd seen it earlier. I told my mom spontaneously about my girl....while she had a hot curling iron in her hand. Not one of my better ideas. She took it well though. Sent an e-mail to my dad, he's been the best support through all of this!!! I didn't expect that at all but I'm happy for it none the less.

@xhappyxlifex Most Homophobes are gay. Because they are embarressed of being gay themselves(Or Partially gay.) I'm Straight and have no problems at all if people are gay. Sure I think it's gross but If I thought it wasn't gross wouldn't that make me gay? Well I just think that if you hide from it things will just get worse.

I am a straight person who loves God. I feel that God will help you in your endeavours and I will pray for you all. I feel that "religious" people have abandoned God and the Church and chosen to hate gay people. God loves Gay people just as much as anyone else. I do not agree with acts of homosexuality, but I agree with Justin in that you cannot help what you feel.

i came out to my parents about two years ago now, and they only thought it was a fase and that i didn´t find a boy that i wanted to be with. they just ignored it. we havn´t spoken about this since then and i think that they still ignore it. so, what shall i do?

I had that too. You know, my dad came to accept me and even support me. I havent talked to my mother in 7 years, and I dont even miss her any more. It is the right, often abused right, of all kids to be loved unconditionally by our parents. But in the end, Parents are human and have human flaws, God will love you regardless.

i dont know if this qustion would go a little bit off the subject; but what about transgenderd people, i never saw anything in the bible that said anything about changeing sex becaus you feel that your born into the wrong sex, or am i not looking hard enough in the bible?

The Bible hardly EVER talks about gay men and women and it NEVER talks about transgendered people. You can make inference though.

this is a wonderful video for christians and people of other beliefs as well. a lot of common sense things that are just so difficult to organize in your mind when you're going through this. definitely helpful.

i'm blessed that my mother accepted me from the start and i'm praying for courage and strength for anyone else going through this huge emotional event.

oh gosh, I know just how you feel! I use to feel the same way, because my familyt are exactly the same. But, I did. and let me just tell ya, it's one of the most amazing feeling EVER! Maybe, your church won't be like mine. I was kicked out of my church and fired from my job! =( That was my only downfall with coming out....

My mom cried, forced me to read Romans... She screamed...she nearly crashed while we were driving home (cuz I told her while we weren't home). There wasn't much planning involved. It's now nearly 2 years after and she still hasn't fully gotten around to the idea of me being gay, and still doubts my profession of being a Christian. Wish I'd seen this vid earlier :P

After over 16 years of trying to change in the ex-gay community and watching others try to change and failing...100% of the time...don't choose ex-gay - it will make you feel awful and hate yourself. Really, your only choice is whether to have a relationship or accept lifelong celibacy...
