That is a killer arrangement and a great ensemble. It's too bad these people were given such a beautiful rendition yet wouldn't shut the fuck up and enjoy it. Cheering is one thing, but making ruckus through a whole song is pretty rude. As a longtime live musician, i find that a lot of loud noise while i'm performing makes me feel like a lounge act.
amazing :) but not the best in my opinion. I love it when she just totally rocks out on this song...spinning, jumping, head banging, falling to the floor haha...raw =D
This is a great love song. Because it specifically addresses those uncontrollable emotions you feel when ur in love or wanting someone. How dare he/she appear in my dreams? So then u blame it on them, but it's really u who is losing control. And then there is that anger at yourself & at them. Desperation. Vulnerability. Its all there. You can FEEL it. This is one of the most emotional songs out there. It takes you thru all the conceivable emotions in love.
Does anyone else thing when she says "but this" at 3:01-3:03 is incredible? Her voice is powerful and she hits the note exactly. I've listened to it, like, 15 times now. she's amazing.
Ive been taking by so many of her songs immedeatly 1st time i hear them. surprised i own no cds of her. I cant help but have an idea or therory that this song is about rape in some form......Ive shared this idea with a few woman, they thought a moment and said damn probably.
The crowd noise is not that bad. I'd go nuts too if I was there! Alanis Morissette AND Boyd Tinsley on the same stage! Have Alanis and Dave Matthews Band performed Spoon and Don't drink the water live together?
OOPS. I just 'removed' instead 'replied to adamromano who says(paraphrasing): "Jeez you guys, lighten up on the crowd noise. It's not THAT bad. Relax." I agree.
@jetcityjimi I think if I was there, it would have been worse!!!! "ALANIS!!!!!!!!! MARRRY ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" lmao, it is annoying, the crowd, ya kno, must not be too many musicians in the crowd, bunch of non-music playinass ppl who have no idea what they are hearing... my God can someone tell me what happened to the end? theres no way they stopped there, the end is the instrumental love ballod
The crowd drowns out the start, but this gets VERY loud. I think part of what everyone hears is the swirling, shrieking WALL of sound slammed out by the keyboards and viola with heavy effects treatment. The latter parts of this song are way too loud to hear the crowd noise over. Around 2.5-3mins in the keyboardist is "shrieking" behind her vocals. I have the original broadcast feed. It's much easier to hear the difference. What you hear here is way too compressed to tell.
wud be so much better if the crowd had of just shut up and listened to it....i hate howling the whole way through a song. save it for the end and appreciate it while its on.
What a Terrible audience.

The crowd cheers like that any every concert, no matter the band. This is just a poor recording. Most would drown out the crowd noise.

Hi PM,
I think you are right, but sometimes I'm missing the contextual silence...
The world's so loud anyway and many nice spoken words or sung songs are not getting heared, due to this fact.
Also it sometimes get's me upset, if I see a very sensitive and sentimental movie and after the End, Ad's are blasting in.
No time to "digest" the sad situation...
Joe.
