@iamsultana In the early days of their courtship, perhaps, but not after the marriage--DiMaggio was insecure and became abusive. He was attracted to and pursued this gorgeous sex symbol, yet became enraged when other men looked at his her; he married a talented actress on the way to becoming a superstar, yet actually expected her to give up show business to be his stay-at-home little wife. The marriage was doomed to fail and it did. He never stopped loving her, though.
To think. She died on this day 48 years ago. And no one would find out until tomorrow the 5th of august. Shes the only woman I would bring back from the dead she is an angel and a credit to the human race. We love you Norma xxxx
So sweet and fascinating. Look how they all surrounding her like she was the biggest catch...wait a minute, she already is. Nothing like her has ever existed. Never will. you will always know her whether you'r a fan or not.
"I'm not married yet, dear!" Nice when she drops her hesitation--always so afriad of being mocked--and speaks her mind, and speaks in her natural voice.
She was lovely here, anticipating marriage to a man who respected her as a woman and as an actress. But, as usual, she got "the fuzzy end of the lollipop."

I'm not entirely sure about that. Arthur had a lot of delusions about who Marilyn was and what she would be like as a wife. He was very shocked to discover Marilyn was a flawed human and had a lot of complexities and demons.
Arthur loved her anyway though, and I think Marilyn sensed he would even when he found out all he did about her. In the end he couldn't help her, and that's really what she needed, but if you watch interviews with Arthur Miller after her death he speaks of her with such respect and love and dignity.
He's a writer, I'm sure he wasn't shocked. I was just watching an interview of him from '87 about Marilyn.. a quote about why she liked him was because "the best of her was in his eyes, so her hope was with him">I don't think that was delusion, I think that was optimism.
Before you say "well your gonna take HIS word for it?">YES, especially over yours, sombody who never even met her.
What is she saying to the question about children?

I think Miller was a complex personality as well. Two confused people is too much for one family.
Judging by photos, interviews and comments of people who knew MM, I believe she had her happiest moments with Joe DiMaggio.

She is ravishing here, luminous--anticipating life with a man who respected her as a woman and as an actress.
Alas, it did not turn out that way.
