Matilda is a great fighter. She is really hot in her black ring suit.

I admit that she is a huge woman but she moves with grace in the ring.

I find her very attractive and sexy woman! I like Matilda very much!!

this match is purely nostalgic for me. i remember taping it on VHS, when I was like 6 or 7 y.o. and watching over and over again! these girls need to be proud of themselves. They did something so fun and different, nothing could ever compare. BTW, Lil' Egypt was my fav. as a kid! I (heart) Lil' Egypt!

THanks for posting! I came into GLOW at the end of the 1st or 2nd season. I was 7 and wanted to be a wrestler after I saw this show. THe only time I was able to see previous shows was thru re-runs. Excellent post and awesome lady wrestlers!

Rikan10018: The only time we had cameras on us was during live matches. We never shot during rehersals or practices. (top secret stuff, you know.) :-)

But I agree, I think it would be awesome to see how all the girls are doing and what happened to them over the last 20+ years. It's one of the reasons I am posting on YouTube. Wish me luck!

yntxtobear: Not sure I can fit it all in 500 characters. Belly dancing is an amazing art, I didn't do it justice.

When I was younger and all my other friends were taking tap, jazz or ballet, my Mom had "Princess Niela" over our house teaching my sister and I some basics. (She was a very famous belly dancer in Vegas, she had even opened for Sinatra, quit the big deal)

All I wanted to do was climb our tree or build a fort. I paid the price later. lol. Who would have known.

Okay glowfan66: Here is a fun fact for you. Our Director Matt Cimber, was at one time married to the famous blonde bomb shell, Jane Mansfield. In 1965 they had a son named Anthony, look for the young blonde who appeared as a ref later in Season 2 and you will see him.

pjwrestlingfan619: I had such a fun time working with Matilda and the Doll on this match. It was such a nice break from being so serious in the others.

Matilda really played up her part. When I look back I can see just how talented she was.

Matilda and I along with Little Figi or Susie Spirit, I can't remember. Did an exhibition match prior to a "big event" in the late 80's. I can't remember if it was the WWF or the WCW. But it was amazing to be in a bad guy locker room.

Pjwrestlingfan619: (part1) Because we were filming a show, there were girls who needed to spend alot of thier time in the make up area. Lots of girls wore tattoos and had their faces painted etc, ( we were using one of the hotel rooms closest to the ring)

When we were ready there were two entrances a wrestler could make, one was coming in behind the ring and the other was coming down the hallway which lead into the ring.

So backstage was kind of crazy, girls were everywhere.

Part 2: Wrestlers could have more than one match, so if you had time you would run through your matches together. It was a time for focus. The show was filmed live, there were no retakes or do overs.

Backstage, we mostly talked about fan reactions or if something didn't go right. If all went well we were happy and friendly with each other and if it didn't then you just needed to give the other girls their space.

Matilda, like the other girls had good days and bad.

pjwrestlingfan19: I hesitate to give to much detail regarding the opinions of other wrestlers. But I can only imagine how difficult it must have been for Matilda. She came to GLOW as a legend with a big following and was put up against the younger stronger and bigger Mt. Figi.

Mt. Figi was the crowd favorite, the way she would throw girls out of the ring was unreal. When they slapped each other they were giving it thier all. The tension was always thick around them.

I don't remember the exhibition match as much as I remember sitting in the locker room with my jaw dropped. Watching "Bad Guys" get ready was scary. One guy would be banging his head in a locker, one guy would be doing push ups, and another would be talking to himself. No one was interested in chit/chat, no one came up and said, "What's a nice little egyptian girl like you doing in a place like this?"
