The other day i raced a 2002 gt and a 2004 mach 1 on my stock 2000 lightning i smoked the gt but i got beat by the mach 1 by about 1 car length.. I heard theyre like 310hp stock

The mach1 is 320hp stock, the 2001 GT is 260 stock, the lightning is 390 and has a ton of body weight and an automatic transmission. Ive smoked lightnings in an SVT contour, and thats a low 15 second car. The stock '01 GT runs anywhere from a 13.85 to a 14.2 depending on what sources ET's you use.

i think it was a bracket race and the lightning didn't want to beat his own time that is the only way this happened a lightning lost they are supercharged and i know what they will do i have a friend who has a cobra and raced a lighting and lost so there is no way a gt outrun this

that looks like a mach 1 to me not a gt and if it is a gt it has lots of upgrades cause i just sold a 98gt and it turned 14.8 was the best time it ever turned at 92 mph and a lightning stock runs mid to low 13"s at 104 mph

That's because the '96 to '98 GTs used the NPI motors and the '99 to '04 GTs used the PI motors. Your '98 only had like 215 HP to the crank and the newer one in the video has 260 to the crank. So in conclusion..it's a GT, not a Mach 1..just a faster GT than the one you sold :)

I have a 99 lightning and I can beat stock GTs all day long. When I raced my cousins 98 cobra or my uncles 97 cobra, both with some bolt ons, I get the jump and they could never catch me in the 1/4. I ran 13.7 stock and I haven't got a time yet with a 5lb pulley and tune, but the cobras both installed gears to try and bet me and haven't in a 1/4. 100mph plus is a different story.

It will take a lot more than a quarter mile for a GT to overtake a Lightning. When my 2001 Lightning was stock I raced several 99-04 GT's and it was no contest in a quarter mile, I won easily.

What does a stock lightning run? I finally got to race one the other day and I beat it by 4 trucks on the highway. I was disappointing. I only run 14.5s.

I have an 03 Lightning. Stock. I ran 13.8 and 13.9 @ 99mph and 100 mph in the 1/4 mile back to back. From a digg the lightning is quick. From highway speeds it is not the same beast. Aerodynamics of a brick. I try not to run anyone from a roll.

I had just raced a lighting in my 2000 Mustang GT Auto with K&N filter kit and magna flows.He pulled me hard of line but i caught him through the mid range and passed him at the end just like in this video

Well the dude said it was 65 degrees that played a major factor in the Lighting not being able to run its factory 13.8 1/4.I have ran door to door w/ lightnings never have beat any.I live in ohio maybe that explains it?who knows...Just remember power to weight wins the race.

My 2001 GT is Auto and runs 14.2's @99Mph ALL DAY!and all it has is a k&n drop in filter.Coverts on the other hand have been known to run 14.7's w/ Auto.The times are right people!

Ummm dude I have raced countless stock and even a few fairly moded GT's and they dont even come close. My Lightning is stock as well.

You said your gt runs 14.0 stock at 98mph. Im guessing your at sea level or near to it. Im at 5000 ft and my lightning has ran a best of 14.38@96.98mph on bald ass stock F1's on an 80* night. At sea level thats a 13.3-13.6. I dont doubt that your gt ran 14.0's but up here thats a 14.7-15.0 which 3 of my buddies gt's run consistantly. I still say I would smoke you but you did have a good run so nice job to you.

we have a winner! at an elevation of 740ft above sea level the air molecules are more dense which in conbustion engine terms, dense air = more power! the fact is, both vehicals were at the same elevation. at 5000ft, there would be a significant difference. anyway... keep racing and having fun doin it! win or lose.

I've raced plenty of 99 and up Stangs and it's a toss up...evertime. My 04' Lightning runs 13.3 to 13.5 stock and depending on traction, it's unknown who's gonna win. Plus, theres too many variances with both vehicles, my Lightning likes humid cool weather and runs at it's best, my Stang likes cold dry air and runs at it's best.

well sorry but i have an 04 mustang gt and yes i can beat a stock lightning! Its best time is a 13.80 in the 1/4 and 8:80 in an 8th and yea i can drive so sorry

I'm with you dracer35. I own a 2004 GT and stock I have ran 14.0@100.5 and with nothing more than a set of slicks i have ran a 13.52.

take a deacent running car that has been well maintained and put it up to a supercharged vehicle that has had the dogshit run out of it and never maintained. who do you think is gonna win? it always depends on how well the vehicle has been taken care of.

Its my car and I can assure you that it doesnt have nitrous. Calculate this, 190ft/lbs more torque and an exta 1500lbs to move. And for your information NOS is a brand name for nitrous oxide, this isnt The Fast and the Furious movie.

the is no way the gt was stock it would of seriously got its butt kicked by 3 to 4 car lengths hes obviously hiding nos because he cant just paa him up when the lightning has about 190 ft pounds of torque more than a crappy gt
