This doesn't make sense...first off, this is teaching about gay people not gay marriage, so legalizing has nothing to do with it. This is beyond law. First of all, "marriage" is an institution, and by definition, it doesn't refer to a "same sex union". Also, the nature itself makes the homosexual relations infertile, which makes invalid the use of the word "marriage" in this. This is a fact. The problem is that parents want to act like homosexuality doesn't exist until a kid is "old enough" to talk about it. We're supposed to be a nation of tolerance--if John Doe wants to be gay and wants to get married, what right do we have to tell him otherwise? He's not necessarily a Catholic; and even if he was, why can't God or the church punish him and not the state?

Since the beginning of time, God has endowed us with free will. Do we have the right to deprive that of other men?

this is not about illegalizing homosexuality. This is about the public school system feeding our 5 year old children what to believe on a controversial moral problem. It is not the place of the government to tell 5 year olds what to believe on sexual morals, it is the place of the children's parents. Also, its a little young to be indoctrinating kids on sexual issues

Yes, you're right. Indoctrination is not fair. They don't have to say that gay marriage is good or bad; I went through the lower grades without even a mention of it. I stick to my position that gay marriage is fine for those who choose to do it. What other people say and do is none of my business.

If you believe it to be wrong and vote for it to be OK... You are condoning it! And you are making it possible for the children in the future to actually and truthfully say they were born with it... You people that believe in supporting this type of activity and in a twisted way believe in God too... you better start praying to Him that he does not exist... WHOA!

I condone it FOR OTHER PEOPLE if they choose, because not everyone in America is Catholic. And so what if they were born into a society where homosexuals are accepted? You're lurking on the misconception that because an institution teaches tolerance of something, kids are going to become it themselves. Schools teach about the Holocaust, but you don't see the kids converting to Judaism, do you?

I'm not gay. I wouldn't be a sodomizer, but stealing free will isn't something I'll be guilty of.
