  • = O treating gays like normal people? NOOOOO IT CAN'T BE !

  • I absolutly love the message fundelmental christians give out ... without actual proof, eg "it really confuses children" 1. how and 2. he said it not the children

  • This seems to be a dramatic reenactment more than a real interview. The parents behave more like actors reading lines than real people. If they are real, I pray both their children turn out to be gay. I'm still unclear how gays getting married hurts the institution of marriage, not when the divorce rate among heterosexuals is about 50%.

  • Good God! I cannot believe that this is going on in America and parents are mostly in the dark about it. The liberals and atheists are trying to take the minds of our children because they know if they can get the minds of the children, they can get the future. Don't allow them to defile your children's minds. Find out what they are being taught. You are the guardians of your children not the schools.

  • I really don't understand what these parents want from a school.

In schools, kids should be taught what reality is and not only what each parent think their kid should know about the world. Hiding from kids that there are other people and other ways of thinking is actually the opposite of what the purpose of a school should be.

  • horayy for secular humanism

  • Sad when people push mythology as fact and go to the extent of taking away rights from others. Using the arguement that gays cant reproduce and therefore cant get married is sad. So would that mean if someone isnt fertile that they cant marry(even straight couples)? Heaven forbid that kids learn tolerance for their fellow human. Would you treat your child any different if they were gay?

  • @CDKJS but if you are for equality, you must be for the equality of all.

  • Some ones sexual preference is not a social issue its a personal and intimate matter. stop promoting homosexuality.

  • I think people have the right to like/love/lust anyone or anything they want. But my issue with this is that they are teaching kids that are way too young to even understand what love and relationships are (don't get me started on dating) and telling them what to think. I am straight but I don't hate people who are gay/bi. I think it's kinda gross, but I don't hate them. Mostly, don't ask, don't tell.

  • @Hlover01 If you find it gross, then don't get married or date some one of the same sex. But don't stop others from loving who they wont to love and don't stop children from learning tolerance. If there is a little boy or little girl in a class with two parents of the same sex, are they just not suppose to talk about their family because it would upset the parents of the other kids? That's bull.

  • Calling promoting tolerance and teaching children to accept and treat others with respect a "homosexual agenda" is just their way of making it sound ominous and evil.

  • You know, I think it's good to tach kids respect for everyone, including gays, but this is silly.

  • Parents brainwashing or focusing their children to go against anything about homosexuality is righteously ruthless. Sure, they the right to tell us what they think. But, I think what these schools are trying to say is to respect people and their sexuality. Without that respect we get bullies and even worse suicidal teens who have been diminished because of their sexuality.

  • @gamegirlalia No, they are trying to say that homosexuality is normal. Then kids at the age of 7 start questioning sex and their sexuality. It's ridiculous. Homosexuality isn't natural at all, if it was then homos would be able to reproduce. Bottom line is no kid at 5 and 7 years old should be learning about sex/sexuality period.

  • Homosexuality is a sexual disorder.

  • @TheDesertProphet454 Spiritual Too

  • It appears Google only approves of the pro homosexual comments.

  • This doesn't make sense...first off, this is teaching about gay people not gay marriage, so legalizing has nothing to do with it. But in any case, parents don't get the right to choose what is taught in the classroom - their say happened when they voted for their school board. Schools need to expose children to what they will be experiencing in the real world. If parents don't like it, you talk about it at home, but you can't keep them in a bubble forever.

  • This is amazing that people actually think that being tolerant of an unhealthy and immoral relationship is ok.Listen people if you want to be gay well thats between you and god and not for me to judge . I draw the line when you try to confuse our children into thinking that its a healthy and normal behavior when its not.

  • So is this video about the bigot agenda to create a less intolerant and accepting world of the different kinds of people around you...

If kids don't learn to how be tolerant at a young age...then it would be hard for them to learn to be acceptant of gays at a much older age...

  • was there any questions about the young child who lives with grandma, because his mom was a drug addict and beat and neglected them? in the book about who's in a family... no there wasn't, so we don't need to worry about talking about abuse and neglectful families, but we do need to worry about loving and stable families where both partners have a similar make up between their legs? FACINATING!

  • So I was patiently listening to their opinions. Then right about where she said her family values "choose not" to partake in this "behaviour" I thought "So you're not upset about what your kids are learning, just the fact its not what you agree with".

  • I can't believe what these poor people went through.

Gays getting beaten is nothing compared to their tremendous suffering

  • Perhaps the catholicnewsagency should worry less about preaching hate and focus more on preventing their preists from sexually molesting alter boys. This is precisely why the Church Membership and attendance in general has declined so rapidly over the years . My god does not preach hate and does not judge others. . .

  • Teaching children values does not belong in the school system. Parents have the right to teach there children as they see fit. This does not belong in a class room.

  • LOL

  • Agenda?

    Taking over the world?

All they want is the right to be safe

walking down the street in their home town,

the right to marry the person they choose.

They want the same rights you have.

    That's not "taking over" anything.

Keep your evil, sadistic, murderous, racist, homophobic,

    bigoted, ignorant Bronze Age religion

firmly inside your expensive, exploitative churches.

  • should've known this was a 'comment pending approval' video only.

  • ohh you poor old timers don't seem to get it. all are judgmental and don't have open hearts or minds.

  • He's wearing suspenders. Coincidence? I think not.

  • America is facing its last days with the NWO, the gay agenda, and other horrible stuff.

  • Comment pending approval!!! Really? either let people comment or turn the option off.

  • Democracy is not a faith based institution.

  • can the radical christian right prove to people how are gays/lesbians terrorists?

can anyone tell me why do christian right/evangelical christians compare gays/lesbians to terrorists?

  • When are we going to STOP using children as a shield to hide behind.. obviously the families in this video are homophobic and want to make sure that their children are too.. One does not choose a sexual behavior.. I feel its best that children that are gay are better off learning about the acceptance of the lifestyle at an early age so they don't have to learn about it in their teens at a gay club where they will surely be taken advantage of..

  • @clairvoyant4you, I completely agree.

Why did someone giver her a thumbs down? She clearly explained how incorrect these people were in their closed-minded thinking. Being gay isn't a "value" parents teach. Its great to see that homosexual children will be able to grow up confidant in themselves, rather going through pain...a 1/3 of teenage suicides are by gey teenagers, don't these parents realize that those kids were taught THEY were wrong/disgusting from a young age?

  • @clairvoyant4you Maybe parents don't want the school system deciding to teach what they believe is moral. You don't want the 10 commandments in the schools, so don't bring in your two cents of what is right or wrong. Keep it to yourself, it has no place in the school system.

  • HOMESCHOOL YOUR CHILDREN!

  • Home school or private school are a better alternatives to public schools.

Its time for parents to speak to their kids and not be ashamed to talk about sex. Although we did have "the talk", I've never said the word gay in front of my parents b/c we don't' talk like that. I shouldn't be embarrassed but I am.

If you tell your kids @ an early age about these types of behaviors then they will know when they go to public school what is not acceptable.

  • u people are dumb kids are just taught that so they dont grow up to be stupid and worthless and prejudice as some of these guys written comments here. ur kids cannot be taught to be gay, if there straight they will remain like that. if you think people being gay is a issue you have certainly lost your mind

  • This is crazy. "We were'nt prepared to talk to our 7yrs old about it." Ok, first of all: Ur child is seven and most children have crushes on something around this time. So, at what point were they going to talk to him or her. Second: This is a common arguement," How do I explain this to my kids?" How do you explain sex to your kids? Drugs? Violence? Racisim?

Why is it such a big deal to talk to your kids? Its your job! Get over it!

  • It's the scummy, tax-dodging, work-dodging, leeches who should be eradicated from this country (UK). I pay my taxes to keep them with their 10+ children all providing child benefit, yet people come on here and ridicule homosexuals providing a safe, decent upbringing for children. Did anyone know as a % per population more is spent on the costs healthcare and crime as a result of st8 people's actions as opposed to gay and I have to fork out for these st8 people. It's disgusting!

  • Their last step is pray. Stupid asses. Two hands working hard is more productive than a thousand clasped in prayer.

  • Yes I hate it too if children are being taught that being gay is okay. Next they will tell them evolution is right, or even gravity! Lets not forget, even gravity is just a theory and nobody has yet proved that Earth is actually round and surrounded by other planets. What a ridiculous notion. ;-)

  • Are you on pills for your nerves?

  • @JeanySullivan You're kidding right? I've seen plenty of pictures from space and the Earth looks round in every one. LOL.

  • thanks catholic church for keeping homosexuality a secret that priests only share with young boys.

  • Yes, I know specific information about that topic. 'Tis true.

  • Comment removed

  • This is beyond law. First of all, "marriage" is an institution, and by definition, it doesn't refer to a "same sex union". Also, the nature itself makes the homosexual relations infertile, which makes invalid the use of the word "marriage" in this. This is a fact. Finally, the scientific community hasn't verify if the homosexuality is natural or acquired. Now is considered as an abnormal conduct and not as a natural reaction. Schools can´t be teaching it as normal or as natural, when it isn't.

  • Okay, with that logic, do you back the idea of eliminating marriages for people who are over 50 or are naturally infertile? If marriage is invalid for gays and lesbians because of inability to reproduce, then what does that mean for those who can't have children anyway?

  • Ibu, that doesn't really make sense. People who don't want children get married. People who can't have children get married. You can't use parenthood as a test for marriage, unless you're going to take away the marriage licenses of childless straight people. And besides, plenty of gay people have kids. My dads are gay, and they raised three children together.

  • Excuse me but in 7 countries in the world same-sex weddings are a civil right and as far as I know the world hasn't collapsed or god hasn't come down shouting murder.Honestly!

  • this is pretty outrageous, but it gets even worse... my niece found this book in the children's section of the franklin public library called "the frog prince" that basically promotes beastiality. "beauty and the beast" another great example. anyway, my niece started kissing the family iguana after reading that trash, now it has to live with me because my brother cant trust her around it. the zooaphile agenda is coming for your kids, just you wait america.

  • Your arguments are so silly that I wonder if you (adamn..) are a pre-teen kid yourself.

Those kisses from children are innocent it is your contaminated and poisoned mind that see what is not there.

Do you honestly believe that if zoofilia was promoted and marriages legalized you would

have large section of the population wanting to marry their pets, for example.

    Don't make me laugh.

  • thers noting wrong with it

  • Its legal here in Canada. It never even comes up as a school topic. its has changed nothing here other than that gay people seem to feel more happy.

  • At least 11 states have outlawed same-sex marriage. Why are you still whining about it?

  • Okay...as a public school teacher myself, this is fearmongering at it's finest. The state's passed the laws, therefore children must be taught that way. It's as simple as that.

Furthermore, if you disagree, petition your state legislatures to surrender x% of your property taxes that support public schools to paid to you to enroll your children in a private Christian school.

Furthermore, petition your church for scholarships to go to Christian school.

    Who's with me?

  • Math, hey, I agree! And also, it bugs me the way anti-gay people try to lay claim to the public schools. Public schools are for *all* children, not just straight children and not just children from straight families. I have two gay dads, and my parents paid taxes so that I could have a safe and comfortable school experience, too. Many people also assume that all straight parents are anti-gay, which isn't true at all. There are lots of straight mom and dads that support equal rights.

  • Here here for homosexuality!

  • I am a man married to a woman with kids!!!!!!! Keep your childless non -rearing no family indoctrinating unit crap to yourselves. My child doesn't need to be confused in where he came from!!!!!! Just like the parents in this video!!!! We pay taxes too, what makes you think we have to pay more!!!!!!!

  • Where, um, you do know that plenty of gay people have kids? I have gay parents, and I went to public school. The existence of gay families is not some kind of new thing, and children from same-sex households deserve to have a safe and comfortable time at school. Gay parents pay taxes just like straight parents do. There's no reason they should be treated differently. And there's no reason we kids should be treated differently, either.

  • The Americans seem to have problem with gay marriages ! What is wrong with couples of the same sex !!!?????? There is no hate in these books !

  • If you want religion taught to your kids, send them to a religious school. Gay families exist in society and pay taxes.

    big⋅ot [big-uht]

    noun

a person who is utterly intolerant of any differing creed, belief, or opinion.

  • OH NO!!! Excepting peoples' differences? That's preposterous!

  • They aren't TEACHING sexuality or marriage. They are teaching kids not to hate other people...... This video is terrible.

  • and lol at step 4 =)

  • oh no! we can't let children be accepting of other people!!!!!!!! STOP GAY MARRIAGE!

  • theres nothing wrong with it

  • Gay marriage is INTRINSICALLY EVIL -- an OLD ERROR wrapped in in deceptive clothing.

It's an attack on the FAMILY and society.

  • Not really. People who still want to have a traditional family can. That won't be hurt by gay marriage.

I mean, unless you think gay marriage is a bigger threat to the institution of marriage than all of the people who get divorced in the first year of their own marriage.

  • Wow this is why American school system is failing we can't even speak our own language.

  • maca guy you are a steriotypical christian

  • Macau, that's just silly. Gays and lesbians aren't hurting anyone else, and their marriages are certainly not hurting your family. Gay people have families, too, you know. I was raised by two gay dads. They're good citizens and good parents. There's no reason they should want to hurt you or hurt society. And they haven't. They're just minding their own business living their own lives.

  • Tony Perkins is a fear monger - how incredibly simple and naive this message is but I'm sure it works on the uneducated. Gay isn't something you catch - it's something you're born with - welcome to the 21st century people.

  • ok so we should accept people that are born as pedophiles as the norm also?

    give me a break.

yes we should accept gays but not accept their lifestyle as the norm.

anal sex +swapping fecal matter=aids higher infections(due to high levels of blood in fecal matter)

    wake up people.

  • No sexuality and marriage should be taught in school. Most homosexual people agree.

  • Brainwashing. 5 and 7 year olds? That's not right.

  • Wuz, so it's *not* brainwashing when parents teach children that being gay is bad? But it *is* brainwashing when teachers acknowledge the existence of gay people? Kids aren't born thinking gay people are bad, you know. And, for what it's worth, I went to public school and I have gay parents. Why should I have been forced to remain silent about my family? Every other kid gets to have their family validated. Why not mine? Why are we making a special exception for gay families?

  • Because gay families are so controversial. Some people truly don't believe in gay marriage, whether it's because of religious beliefs or just personal decisions. They retain the right to raise their child to their beliefs, and that right is violated when schools override parental choice. It's sort of like a Jewish kid being taught at school that Jesus was the Messiah, even though his parents don't believe it and are teaching their child the opposite. Just as they would object to school...

  • Wuz, who decided that my family was controversial? I didn't get a vote! Just because someone's religion tells them something does not mean that the public schools have to follow it. Some kids don't celebrate birthdays or Halloween or salute the flag due to their religion, but we do all of those in public school. Some parents don't believe in evolution, but we still teach it in public school. Gay families *exist* and should not be shoved to the back of the bus at school - or anywhere else either.

  • And, Wuz, young minds can't handle the existence of gay people? Since when? Small children don't care about adults being gay or straight. All they care about is that the adults are nice and fair and treat them well. You know, when I was 3 years old, I had two dads. My mind handled it just fine.

  • I grew up in a very heterosexual world. But my grandmother had an uncle (whom I never knew), and she made a point of telling me that he was gay. She made this point because in the early 1970s, bigotry was all the rage. She let me know that she cared about/validated all kinds of people.

  • And that is why you deserve equal protection under the law.

  • ...indoctrinating their child in something that they don't believe in, parents who don't believe in gay marraige are upset when schools teach their children that it is perfectly acceptable. That is an opinion, not a fact; schools are meant to share facts and information and let students make their own opinions on this highly divisive issue.

Plus, the extreme young age that this is being taught has an uncomfortable feel. Young minds are very impressionable and can't handle this issue yet.

  • The word "indoctrinate" is a scary word. When I was a child, there was concern/panic over exposing us white children to black children, by forced busing. My mother was called into school, because I had a girlfriend, who was black. I was 9 years old. My teacher needed a diversity pack!

  • This is why gay teens are more likely to commit suicide.

  • lol yeah i have my agenda right here, it's full of unfinished deeds for example "corrupt people i don't know, or care to know, just cause i have nothing better to do with my time" oh wait....i do have better things

  • If we allow blacks and whites to marry each other, we'll have to teach our children it's normal, acceptable and moral behavior. We'll confuse them.

  • Oh noes, I have to explain to my child that I'm a bigot and like to descrimenate against blacks.

  • I'm gay. I'm an American. I pay taxes. You can believe what you want about homosexuality (for you who are brainwashed) ... but I demand equality. Our day will come!

I am a married gay man. Got married in Canada and not ONE straight marriage suffered because of it.

    Get over it!

  • 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 (NIV): "Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters, nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God."

Genesis 13:13: "But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly."

  • it should be left out of our schools it goes against the values i'm instilling in my children, marriage is a sacred union between a man and woman.

  • UGH

This has nothing to do with same sex marriage. It has to do with stupid teachers. I believe in same sex marriage but NOT in teaching it at schools. Schools are places to be taught about marriage. These are just stupid teachers.

  • This has every thing to do with same sex marriages if same sex marriage becomes legal across the U.S. this program will be forced to be taught and any objection to it will be considered hate speach it is all ready happening. They can have civil unions but leave my children out of it. I like to see the gay protestors attack an african american church and see how far they get but they have no guts.

  • Hold on... why would this be forced to be taught in schools? There is no reason this has to be taught in school...marriage has nothing to do with education.

"Leave my children out of it." I do not know what you meant by this... your children don't have to marry the same sex and won't be taught this in schools (though of course you'll always have some stupid teacher who will teach things he's not supposed to.)

  • I beg to differ if same sex marraige is put in the constitution as a right then tolerance of homosexual classes would have to be taught which will lead to manatory sex education courses because how can you teach tolerance of something when a child doesn't know what it means to be homosexual. Then it will be illegal to quote the Bible because that would be considered hate speach. Homosexual sin is the same as any other sin but should not be taught as right.

  • Your religious fanaticism disgusts me. The Bible is full of hate speech and loving sermons. What right do you have to tell me what's right and wrong? You claim the moral authority of a MYTHICAL over being as justification for the repression of a group of people. Pray tell, if one doesn't believe in your invisible, magical, person, why should he or she live by it's laws? If you feel like brainwashing your kids to act like nothing else exists, then home school them like a good fanatic.

  • How are your people repressed you can do the same things I can just call it a different name, civil unions? You can eat in the same restaurants, go to the same rest rooms, go to the same schools, have the same jobs, etc. You just won't be happy until everyone thinks the same way as you do. I don't care what you do in private. God knows I've done a lot to go to hell but by only God's grace am I going there. I pray someday you will come to this same conclusion.God loves you no matter what.

  • Repression isn't just a matter of legal rights. It's also a matter of people making a joke out of you, and looking down on you.I don't mind if you believe in God, to each their own. I just don't think that anyone should use religion as an excuse to deny anyone their liberty.

I'm not gay. I just don't think that anyone should be denied marriage and happy life. Civil unions are the same as marriage in the eyes of law. If you can't have one, then you can't have the other(to my knowledge).

  • not all of our laws are based on religion, alot of laws are based on common sencse for the better good.

even atheits agree you shoudnt steal, lie, assualt people ect.we have laws for a reason not always because of the bible.

we dont allow people to marry their brother or sister so why should 2 men marry?

so if we do agree 2 men can marry then its only fair to let siblings marry,or polygamists practice their rights.

  • Yes, I agree completely. Polygamists have every right to practice their marriages how they wish. And, yes, if siblings really want to marry, I'd say that we should let it happen.

  • I also don't get what the heck you mean by gay protestors having no guts and not attacking african american churches. What do you mean by this comment?

  • They have attacked churches in Ca and in Michigan. Even though 70% African American's voted for prop 8 they would never touch those churches because if they did something might be done about it. You would never see them disturbing the worship service throwing condoms and 2 females kissing at the pulpit happening in an African American church like they did to other churches.

  • This video strikes me as hateful. I don't see what the problem is with same sex marriage. The problem is that parents want to act like homosexuality doesn't exist until a kid is "old enough" to talk about it. I don't see any of those books for the kids talking about sodomy, it just shows that men do have relationships with other men, and women with women. It's a fact of life. It's hardly indoctrination to introduce kids to an idea. They just have to understand both ends of the spectrum.

  • indoctrinate [inˈdoktrineit]to fill with a certain teaching or set of opinions, beliefs etc. You said it was hardly indoctrination to introduce kids to an idea. Just wanted to let you know the definition of indoctrination.

  • Right, to FILL with certain teachings and sets of opinions. So, to tell your kids that there are homosexuals, as well as straight people, isn't indoctrination because you're introducing them to more than one concept or idea. It's like teaching your kids that communism exists. It doesn't mean that you're indoctrinating them into communism. It means that you're telling them more than one idea.

  • 9 Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

  • Good grief; no one want their child coming home confused, nor Mom's and Dad's being hauled off becuase they feel that morality should be taught at home, not forced upon children according to their teachers or the state's beliefs.

  • Everyone needs to read SB777....

  • Vote Yes on Prop 8!!!

  • In regards to just adults i could careless what goes on in someone else bedroom life. BUTT when the schools interfere with PARENTAL GUIDANCE on this issue that is wrong.

  • so shacken up is OK with you. And the constant spread of STD's and Aids is OK for you. And paying your taxes for someone elses health care for promiscuous behaviour is also OK because what goes on in someone elses bedroom does not matter! Though the rest I agree with.

  • Hello whereareyou222. No it's not ok to live together instead of getting married. Individuals are responsible for their healthcare. My point is it's no ones biz what goes on in someones bedroom . Except if it involves kids or animals or goes against someones free will or adultery

  • Yes. Marriage is superior to "living together.

  • This goes above and beyond the role of public education. Its outrageous.

  • I don't think that the majority of parents are fully aware of the implications of this issue. Family influence upon children has become diuted enough in these times and this just turns everything upside down.

  • Its crazy.

  • teachers by far molest far more children than anyone else, right now. Not back in the 70's. so before you start repeating propoganda, do your research.

  • I have a question. Sure, we believe that same-sex marriage is wrong for our faith. But why are we making this a national issue? We're supposed to be a nation of tolerance--if John Doe wants to be gay and wants to get married, what right do we have to tell him otherwise? He's not necessarily a Catholic; and even if he was, why can't God or the church punish him and not the state?

Since the beginning of time, God has endowed us with free will. Do we have the right to deprive that of other men?

  • this is not about illegalizing homosexuality. This is about the public school system feeding our 5 year old children what to believe on a controversial moral problem. It is not the place of the government to tell 5 year olds what to believe on sexual morals, it is the place of the children's parents. Also, its a little young to be indoctrinating kids on sexual issues

  • Yes, you're right. Indoctrination is not fair. They don't have to say that gay marriage is good or bad; I went through the lower grades without even a mention of it. I stick to my position that gay marriage is fine for those who choose to do it. What other people say and do is none of my business.

"Judge not, lest ye be judged."

  • If you believe it to be wrong and vote for it to be OK... You are condoning it! And you are making it possible for the children in the future to actually and truthfully say they were born with it... You people that believe in supporting this type of activity and in a twisted way believe in God too... you better start praying to Him that he does not exist... WHOA!

  • I condone it FOR OTHER PEOPLE if they choose, because not everyone in America is Catholic. And so what if they were born into a society where homosexuals are accepted? You're lurking on the misconception that because an institution teaches tolerance of something, kids are going to become it themselves. Schools teach about the Holocaust, but you don't see the kids converting to Judaism, do you?

I'm not gay. I wouldn't be a sodomizer, but stealing free will isn't something I'll be guilty of.

  • 22 'Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable. Lev 18
