  • my name is herschel ayyayayaa

  • Herschel Walker?.....that's a funny way to spell Barry Sanders.

  • @118Combination

Barry Sanders 3 years of college rushing stats:

total yards: 3797, attempts: 558, avg: 5.9 per carry

Walkers 3 years of college rushing stats:

total yards: 5259, attempts: 994, avg: 5.3 per carry

Sanders was a better NFL running back, but his stats dont justify him as a better college running back.

  • and guess who just got an autograph from Herschel Walker :D

  • How does Barry Sanders not get #1? The only season he played he demolished nearly every record he could, some that may never be broken.

  • so hard to say who the best is becauase of different styles. i would take bo jackson or tony dorsett myself but only cause they are my favs..herschel is just as good if not better.

  • He could still play.

  • Where's Jim Brown???

  • you know what i never got he doesnt spread his legs out that much when he runs and he just looks slow but this guy has some serious speed

  • May the Lord Almighty God of Israel bless Herschel, I love him, he is my bother in Christ...he speaks my words as if God showed me His greatness through someone else...take Phosphatal Choline and Phosphatal Serine for his memory...

I sincerely hope this helps him!

  • @aggieivg god of israel? wtf are you talking about you crazy person?

  • From a lifelong Bama fan-Hershel IS the greatest ever. I lived in Peachtree City Ga. during his playing days so I got a good first hand look. Hershel carried the Dawgs on his back for three years against top flight competition. If he had of played his senior year his records would never be broken.

  • No mention of Eric Dickerson?

  • Marcus Dupree?

  • @asianshadowcandy the best that never was....

  • @omarA156 Yurp.. :/ he would of been great.

  • Just a beast. So big and so fast.

  • well howd he do in tha nfl? lol

  • @KevinDurant206 had he not signed to the USFL for 2 years and stayed his senior year with the Bulldogs and then got drafted to the cowboys i think that wouldve made a hell of a difference, i think he might have gotten off to a better start in the NFL

  • @KevinDurant206 Just for the hell of it I'll let you know a stat nobody ever throws out. Even though he played his first 3 seasons in another league Herschel is still number 8 in NFL history as far as all purpose yards.

  • Red Grange don't get no respect.

  • I got a picture with him and got his autograph :)

  • dude du u know all he did was running, pushups, situps and nothing else as a kid and look at him now..

  • Go Dawgs!

  • look up Jim Brown and u will know why i disagree

  • drink apple juice oj will kill you

  • I'm a UGA fan and a Vikings fan, so I have mixed feelings about Herschel....

  • @iamthewalrus374 Herschel was put into an offense that did not fit him in Minnesota.

  • @dawgfanfromdublin What, running the ball? lol. It's not so much how he played, it was how much we gave up to get him. I know it's not his Herschel's fault that they did that, but still. Mike Lynn: I hate you

  • I work in Wrightsville. my parents company put the a/c unit on his mothers house. he wasnt home at the time though :( met him later tho :)

  • Yeah check this right here>>> "youtube.com/watch?v=raHW0kzoUPA"

  • Just imagine what Herschel would have done if he had stuck around for his 4th year.

  • uhhhh where is BILLY SIMS?????????????

  • People who say barry sanders is the best college running back because of his one season are ridiculous! Its one thing to have a great season but its totally different to put up heisman numbers three straight years when teams are bringin 7 or 8 guys every play to stop you. Don't get me wrong barry sanders is amazing but come on..

  • @USMCNIM5 i dont think we're talking about the same guy buddy sure he was a little cocky but he wasnt no means lazy and he did make make one poor decision when it came to college picking ,Oklahoma, and then leaving half way through the season because the coach was a dickhead and was trying to correct him when he didnt need fixing.

  • wtf? where the hell is walter payton?

  • No billy simms? no Adrian Peterson? Surely one of those fellows would've made the list

I'm not a sooner fan, but those were two fantastic backs (peterson has proven to be superior to Bush as well)

    Good pick on #1 tho

  • hershall walker is my hero. i really hope the people that vote for the hall of fame understand the hand hershall was delt, and that he couldve been the best running back in the history of football if he didnt play for two losing teams. although hershall did help out dallas with those picks we got we built that 90s team. thank you hershall for being such a team player and never complaining!

  • marcus dupree would have been an incredible runner if he hadnt been hurt.

  • @flatheadcats and if he hadent been lazy, cocky and retarded

  • Pound 4 pound Hersh and Bo were fastest players in sports period

  • Herschel Walker and Bo Jackson were the fucking best runningbacks in college football history!!!!

  • chuck norris is afraid of hershel walker

  • there is no 5:00 mark :(

  • Tony Dorsett should most certainly be on this list

  • @GeNadi125 I agree with that! Also Marcus Allen wasn't bad either!

  • whos dat guy dat was a running back in college n he went 2 da AFL (I think he was) n he wasnt in shape so he bent his knee backwards n ended his career... plz help

  • @TopCatDaStoryTella I believe that you're referring to Napoleon McCallum who played for the Naval Academy and then for the Raiders. In a Monday Night game against the 49ers, his knee was bent the wrong way tearing his calf and hamstring from the bone. Then no more football.

  • If we compare All college running backs careers with Walker, he tops them all.His Freshmen, Soph and Jr year's were all stellar . As great as Barry was he sat basically the first year at Oakaloma State then when Thurman thomas left the next year he was the starter and basically had the greatest season ever by a college football player. Walker has pro football all time rushing yards in a season with 2400+ with Houston in the USFL.

  • Walker is still the best back ever to college ball.

  • I just want to know what his senior year could've been... He should've went NFL first.

  • He lost quite a bit of agility during his nfl career (probably due to weight training) & was a straight line runner who had to gear down to make cuts (similiar to Darrell Thompson, Stephen Davis, LeShon Johnson & Christian Okoye), therefore if you could get him running east/west when he got the ball, you won the battle more times than not unless he beat you to the corner. & that was why he never became an elite rb. Of course, Minnesota didn't utilize his strengths either, Walker was an "I" back

  • Barry Sanders is the best running back ever , this list isn't good at all

  • @cggordon2 What are you smoking man? Sanders was good. I would even have him second on the list. But he wasn't nearly as good as Walker.

  • Herschel is Nuts. Fucking Love It

  • The exclusion of Ron Dayne from that list is nothing short of criminal.

  • THEY COMPLETELY FORGOT ABOUT:

    JIM BROWN

    EARNIE DAVIS

    FLOYD LITTLE

  • @PitaD123ABC and tony dorsett

  • Naah he's better at mma!!!! Jk

  • Although it is arguable, Herschel Walker IS th greatest College RB of all time.

    Nuff said.

  • i remember going to the Georgia sports hall of fame and watching him dominate everything

  • Check put Keevon Harris of Warren Ohio

  • 1:52 look at how he's pulling away from those guys.

  • jynupe i was just wondering that and im a uga fan my dad was the last person to tackle tony dorsett in college football history

  • ACTUALLY MARION MOTLEY IS THE GRAND DADDY OF ALL BACKS

  • How in the world does Tony Dorsett not make this list?

  • @jynupe

    Agreed and Ricky Williams

  • @ 0:00 before we named the best college RB of all time let's look back at the competition.

  • The BEST college running back of all time!

  • Herschel Walker doesn't take steriods. Steroids take Herschel Walker.

  • @rufracer lmao

  • wooooo

  • GA Dawgy Dawg you think Herschel was the greatest college RB EVER!!!!!!!!! REMEMBER JIM BROWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HE WAS THE FIRST BLACK PLAYER TO BE A HEISMAN NOMINEE 6-2 225 9.5- 9.6 100YD

  • Terrence Moore and Roy Johnson said that Herschel was a freak of nature and they never saw anyone with his skill set of size power and speed.Obviously they must have never seen JIM BROWN!!!!!!!!!!! THE FATHER OF ALL GREAT BACKS

  • who is the tallest football?

  • @TheLeilisa ur question makes mad sense

  • @wetnoodleslapper i meant football player

  • Nah, Bo Jackson was better. Actually, I think Ernie Davis probably was too.

  • Marcus Dupree would hav been #1 if he stayed at Oklahoma, that is my opinion

  • All the old school runningbacks are white, all of todays runningbacks are black

  • @furonable They wouldn't let us play with the white players back in the day. We only competed against each other. Once we started playing against white players, it was like stealing

  • Everybody here is wrong. Barry Sanders is the greatest running back of all time.

    In 1988:

373 rushes, 2,850 yards, 42 TDs. Went over 300 yards rushing 3 times that year. Averaged 7.6 yards per carry.

It's really not even close, to be honest. His worst game of the year (if you can even call it worst, every game he played that year was incredible) was 154 yards and 2 TDs against Missouri.

  • @kwomack10 actually no one here can actually determine the greatest college running back to be honest and ppl who say so and so is the best must mean your a fan of them which isnt valid

  • @kwomack10 people dont even REALIZE how INSANE barry sanders #'s are..its like a video game. you are totally right. barry is #1, herschel and bo to me are a toss up, im leaning towards bo as #2 though.

  • @denali22 You are insane!!! Barry Sanders had 1 good year cause he played in a weak ass conference. I promise you he would not have put those kind of numbers up playing against SEC defense. Secondly Herschel Walker rushed for more yards in 3 years then Bo Jackson did in 4 years so don't even try to compare. You are absolutely off your rocker on this one.

  • ahman green should be on list and if lawrence phillips did'nt get suspended in 95' he would have run away with the heisman check their video's .he should be there and herschel was number 1 in total yards combine with the usfl and he was 3 without thats pretty good for a not used properlly rb ...

  • darren mcfadden is just like him. big back with a burst. and isnt afraid to lower his shoulder.

  • actually. bo jackson had to back up marcus allen. and just when bo was about to carry the team, he suffered his injury.

  • @coolmusicforyou1 Bo jackson had to back up marcus allen? No,I was bo jackson who made marcus the back up.marcus didn't mind. I would like to see bo jackson against jim browns days.he would be so dominate because he was so much faster and none of those ol'timers could even touch him especially with one arm tackles.Bo jacksons is the man.1st on my list.

  • @dad2ujunior he was second string to marcus allen. allen was still number 1 rb for the raiders. duh. if your a raider fan you would know that. unless u are a 90s baby.

  • just saw the 30 for 30 special on marcus dupree, and the first name that came to mind was herschel Walker. Same type of player. Big, fast and strong. the mistake dupree made that herschel didn't, is that marcus left the state of miss. It's a fine line between being great like walker and being misled like Dupree.

  • @chet732003 yea i just saw that too, but make no mistake Herschel was a level above Dupree. Watch his run against in the National Championship where he runs over three people in a row. The man is a freak, plus Dupree wasn't as fast

  • people who say barry or bo they didn't dominate for 3 yrs like walker barry sat bench for 2 yrs and so did bo

  • @nbaave And look what Barry did in that one year he did play, why wasn't he starting before over Thurman Thomas or at least splitting some decent playing time... I have no clue

  • herschel is definiteley the best because i dont see any of them other running backs on the list (thats still alive) fighting in the mma at almost 50 like herschel

  • Walker is the best in college

  • I totally disagree with that count down, even just based on COLLEGE....Num#1 was Bo Jackson-there HAS never, never been a back like him..#2-B Sanders...#3 is Walker.

  • @Wayneman117 you must be an Auburn fan. Walker is ten times better than Bo Jackson. Both of them were beastly but Bo wasn't running over people like that and Herschel was just as fast as him. go watch the video named Walker and you will see what i mean

  • @NATERIDER122 --Uhh,no Sorry. I am a ACC/Clemson fan-but Walker is not Bo Jackson by any stretch.Jackson was a 6-2 235 lb beast with 4.2 40 speed.There has never,never been a back like him....ever.

  • @Wayneman117 ya think so? let me bring up some stats for ya. College career rushing stats: Herschel: 5,259 in 3 years, Bo: 4,303 in 4 years. Average rushing yards per year: Herschel: 1763, Bo: (subtracting his horrible 1984 year of 475 yards) 1276 yards. Herschel holds the record for the top two rushing seasons, Bo's best year is at #15. Herschel has more yards in 3 years than anyone in SEC history had in 4 years. Herschel is the only player to finish top 3 for the Heisman every year

  • @NATERIDER122 -well,I won't argue all ya points, those are valid-But another aspect and something to remember, is YPC...meaning oppurtunities they got-Bo surely would had gotton those numbers with more carries;Still, they were both great backs.

  • Gotta be Barry Sanders.

  • I will honestly say Ernie Davis was the greatest of all time.He might not have the number 1 record but he had more heart than any other running back I have ever seen.He loved the game and all the people who played it.He had respect for them even when they didn`t have respect for him and made racial comments and extremely dirty hits.Ernie Davis was the greatest running back and nobody can change my mind or say he wasn`t good.R.I.P Ernie you are remembered.

  • how is billy sims not on here?

  • oj simpson all the way

  • herschel walker is garbage

  • @negroamigo012

    Your face is garbage

  • Herschel Walker cannot be the greatest college back of all time, no. I watched that Sugar Bowl game , Georgia vs Penn St. Penn St. stopped Herschel that day. If he was the greatest, then he would have shined. Curt Warner was better that day. Herschel may have had the straight line sprint speed, But OJ Simpson could also sprint and juke. OJ better than Herschel.

  • @rmrooster01 why juke when you can just run everyone over?

  • @MadPuppets1 Because you cant just run everyone over. The goal is to rush for as many yards as possible, to get a TD. Herschel couldnt run everyone over, sorry. Not LT & the Giants, or Singeltary & the Bears, sorry dude. If he was that good, why didnt his stats reflect that. Walker wasnt Jim Brown, or OJ Simpson, or Walter Payton, sorry.

  • @rmrooster01 whatever dude i was just having a little fun you are entitled to your opinion but im of the mind that Herschel was better than Oj and Jim Brown and Bo Jackson in college.

  • @rmrooster01 OJ was better at slaughtering people.

  • Herschel's presence and talent took a 6-5 or 7-4 Georgia team and propelled them to a 32-1 regular season record between 1980-82....including an 18-0 SEC record. I'm nearly 49 years old, and have never seen such a dominating college football running back before or since.

  • He could not change direction very well...he was a straight runner...but VERY fast

  • Were is Danye, MOST YARDS RUSHING IN COLLEGE PERIOD!

  • Ummmm there was a Tailback called Tony Dorsett.

  • @oneputtsteven i agree this list has no credibility without tony dorsett

  • @oneputtsteven fck you, get the fck out with that bullsh*t

  • I'm a lifelong Gator, and must say, THE best CFB RB of all time.

  • Almost UNPARALLED athletic resume: 10th degree black belt in karate, Heisman winner, all pro NFL RB, 100 Meter track and field Olympic alternate, featured in professional ballet productions, Olympic bobsled competitor, professional MMA fighter, 1000 push-ups, 1000 dips, 2500 sit ups/day, eats one meal a day. MODERN DAY JIM THORPE.

  • Barry sanders all I got to say.

  • Tony Dorsett is not on this list So that says alot about who chose this list.

  • this is a good video and he is #2 in my book. barry sanders is #1 however. nobody will ever have the season he had in 1988 ever again. almost 3000 yards rushing and 39tds in 12 games. and his first 2 seasons he backed up thurman thomas and still managed to make his presence felt. regardless herschel was top 3 of all time so i guess its personal opinion

  • Terrence Moore is a POS. Fuck You Terrende Moore. You are a hack and a piece of shit!

  • how is darren mcfadden not on that list.

  • @Rasberryjam3 --Probably because this video is from about 4 years ago.

  • @Rasberryjam3 Because this video is about 4 years old...

  • I still cant beleive Herschel is fighting MMA now.

  • @shaun0069 and he wins. Im not a USA native, that's why i freaked out when i saw on the tale of the tape that he is freaking 48 years old. Man! That is not a body of a 48 year old man.

  • @shaun0069 I can. He's been doing martial arts for 30 years

  • Ricky Williams should be on here

  • i got his autograph and got to shake his hand once. it was a great honor.

  • He was the Bruce Lee of college football!

  • i was lucky enough to be present at all home games he played at uga.. i will never forget him.. amazing fast and tough as hell.. walker my dawg...

  • clearly it archie griffin, who is the ONLY player to win the HEISMAN 2 YRS IN A ROW!!!

  • pretty much everyone has juiced since the 80's on so it's not just Bo Steriods make you faster and stronger the best way is too do roids then dont let your self get over 220 so you can still be fast and light dont let your body get too big or else you wont be as quick or elusive Bo was Like Brown but better potential more speed

  • @XtremeAthleticism Ricky williams Barry Sanders Ladainian tomlinson Deangelo Williams and Marshawn Lynch 100% didn't because they were tested by outsides sources other than they're team and the league

  • No way Barry Sanders and OJ Simpson were better as well as Bo Jackson

  • Sitting on the bench if he was on the same team as Bo. Sorry

  • @davisassociates

Bo was the best man RB made. Hands down!

  • @90EMC i dont want to start that debate again u like Bo i like Oj Bo is the only rb who i think is faster than the juice the Juice more eluvise and quicker Bo is faster though I think Bo still Think Bo was Juicing he was like OJ on steriods literally Great potential Great potential but i would have liked to have seen the Juice on Juice. I watched the cotton bowl and the announcer said that Bo was the most coveted college runningback since Oj Simpson. Bo is Legit fo sho steriods or not

  • @XtremeAthleticism WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT??? Bo did NOT use steriods. This world is full of ignorant people such as yourself.

  • ADRIAN PETERSON

    A.D.

  • I personally thought barry was the best

  • They got this dadgum crap right!!!

  • i think barry should be #1

  • @nikboss3000 Me to

  • I'm personally not sure where I stand on it, but think about the fact that Frank Broyles of ABC called a bunch of Herschel's games, then a few years later was purported to have said, "I ain't nevah seen an ath-a-lete lahk Bo Jackson in mah laaaf!" I was a kindergartner in Herschel's days at Georgia, so I don't remember him and can't fairly judge his resume for that reason.

  • How the fuck is Tony Dorsett not on this list?!?!?

  • @cllamont which of these 10 is TD better than? your answer will be highly debatable, but, to be fair, i am thinking something similar ----only more along the lines of ADRIAN PETERSON

  • Good selection. Herschel was the greatest ever.

  • 0:57 niiiiiiiiiiiiiicccccccee!!!

  • archie griffen best ever 2 heismens any body else on that list got 2 heismens and dont give me that crap that they went to the nfl early they still dont got 2 heismens by the way archie griffen has got 2 heismens

  • @Sizzmaster6985 everybody knows the heismen is a joke its a popularity contest just like only one defensive player has ever won it and toby got screwed out of it last year

  • @rcowboy4 nah, OU took care of him.

  • LOL BARRY SANDERS IS tHE BEST COLLEGE RUNNING BACK EVER....2500 YARDS CANT TOUCH THAT SORRY UR ALL WRONG

  • Yea, and you know how tough those Big 12 defenses are.

  • Barry didn't start over thurman thomas his first 2 years, he only played 1 year and including the bowl game had 2750 yards and 42 tds not including bowl 2600 yards and 39 tds

  • Yeah, Ricky Williams should at LEAST be number ten on here, I say better than Reggie Bush.

  • no AP?

  • They are not talking about Pros......Though I do agree a bit with Dorsett.

  • earl campbell #8 yeah right, and no eric dickeerson ya know "pony express" and where is tony dorsett?

  • he never lifted weights either. simply did it the hard way with pushups and situps.

  • yea rumor is he does 2500 pushups and situps a day

  • wheres warrick dunn? reggie bush over fsu's great warrick dunn? .. please

  • warrick dunn 'who', warrick is like number 100 back of all time.

  • There have been a lot of great college RBs maybe some that should have ben in the top 10 but Hershel was most def THE best. His runs are still stunning to watch all these years later. He is the definition of 1 in a million!

  • One of the best college backs of all time. Imagine if he would have stayed all 4 yrs?

  • Well imagine if Bush, Sanders or OJ played another year. In fact, OJ only played 2 years total at SC.

  • poo

  • wheres ernie davis

  • I'm a USC fan but reggie bush not top 10. where's edgerrin james?

  • Pure freak of nature. Read a book about his life. Never lifted a weight in middle or high school and could dunk a basketball.

One of the few that was just as good on the field as off. Great, great guy.

  • The amazing thing is that Herschel is as good a person as he is an athlete!

  • Mike Rozier?

  • Man its a shame how the coaches in the NFL didnt use Herschel in the correct brain trust. He was a freak of nature. Just like Bo Jackson.

  • @90EMC better than bo though
