Best Cream song!Clapton gets the credit but it's all Jack Bruces music really.That's probably why Clapton took off,egomaniac couldn't stand being intellectual second fiddle.He's just a guitarist.

Actually, each musician contributed considerable amounts to Cream; most of Sunshine of Your Love was written by Clapton, as was the solo in Crossroads. Baker made his own drum sections, and almost of Cream's lyrics were written by poet Pete Brown.

Clapton is definately not an egomaniac. Cream broke off because Jack Bruce couldn't get over himself and kept up his feud with Baker. Jack is pretty arrogant, look for some of his comments about Led Zeppelin to see what I mean.

You might want to find out a bit of what happened. Baker and Bruce couldn't stand each other before Cream, Clapton didn't want to join without Bruce, so Baker relented but they feuded constantly. Clapton was the younger of the 3 and contributed all that amazing guitar playing and a fair bit of writing. Think of Layla, etc., afterwards that proved his writing ability. That he's only a guitar player is weird. Great song writer, terrific performer, huge hits adapting others tunes..JJCale, etc.
