  • Here is what I see is the major difference in scuba vs free diving for spearfishing. I respect both but they are 2 different beasts in themselves. I see the freedivers go down with spearguns that have huge reels on them so all they have to do is swim down, nice and quiet, shoot and swim to the surface and reel the fish in. The way scuba spearfisherman do it,we have no reels on our spearguns. My gun has about a 10 ft cable on it so I can fight the fish when I am down there. its all about the fight!

  • look i m a scuba diver and a free diver .free diving is amazing for hunting but scuba for me is all about caves and wrecks this guy seems to be enjoying what he s doing i ve done it before but i didn t like it so dude in the vid u look like a cool diver try apnea you ll like it more for hunting

  • Your selling fish.....??????

  • stupid way to fish

  • hahahah nice mangosnapper35.. i just can`t understand why some hate scuba spearos ( i`m a freedive spearo) i respect both. scuba is dangerous add that entanglement problems in oil rigs. i don`t have any problem with people who spearfishes with scuba as long as they respect the ocean and marine life. good day all :)

  • lol ive done both scuba and free diving. only reason i like freediving is u can do it all day long haha not 2 maybe 3 dives and ur done. both fun though

  • Most snorkle jockeys have no clue about spearfishing in water deeper than 100 feet. They hate because they are jealous and use freediver elitism as a crutch to justify not having the knowledge and ablility to shoot fish in the deep end of the pool. Too bad they are missing out. They even have their own "world records" that excludes everyone but snorkle jockeys..... what a joke! They will never catch up with tech scuba shooters and will just keep hating from the kiddy pool...

  • Lol I just had to see the comments cause I knew a bunch of people were going to cry about this lol hey what you could is feed the neiberhood have a big feast

  • I don't have a problem with people using scuba for spearfishing.'

Unfortunately everyone can't hold their breath for 2 minutes at a time.

What I do have a problem with is taking fish that you are obviously not going to eat, like the AJ's and Cudas on this video and the Tarpon on one of your other videos. There's no skill involved there and there's really no excuse for it.

  • @gtrmanny5928 you can eat aj's.....

  • MURDER of wonderful LIVING animals!

  • P-eople

    E-ating

    T-asty

    A-nimals

  • dood as long as free divers are catching 300 lbs plus yellowfin, your scuba arguement holds no ground. I do both but only spear fish with tanks off.

  • oh look its this song again...

  • faggot with the air tank, go golf

  • @rondecuba1 have fun blacking out

  • Spearfishing using SCUBA? shameless

  • This is remarkable, a fisherman's haven made by man. I note that the water looks nice and clean, so if the government wants us to recover the rig, why not just change it's function into something like a fisherman's off shore fishing platform? Maybe charge a nominal fee for something like 7 days fishing time off the Fabulous Offshore Fisherman's haven #XXX

  • Anti tanks.. spearfishing is freediving only..

  • @t10parwani Wrong, spearfishing is shooting fish with a speargun-period. Please show me where spearfishing is defined as "freediving only". Do you use a mask? Modern speargun? Fins?? You're no better than scuba...

  • @BikeMeAustin Well watch our video on bluehuntwater..and im much better than u scuba... hold ur breath more than 3mintues 36 seconds and talk to me

  • Comment removed

  • @t10parwani Wow, you can hold your breath for 3:36!!! You must be a real geniune hero. Please, doesn't mean shit, that and .50 cents will get you a cup of coffee. I notice you didn't answer the questions, figured you wouldn't. Oh, I can stay down for over an hour with tanks-big deal huh?!?....

  • @t10parwani scuba hunting is illegal in most states but fools like you desert the oceans while diving... So please ask ur scuba trainer 50cent to teach u how to freedive...loooool

  • @t10parwani lets see you shoot a 70 pound cobe in 10 foot viz with no tank and at 100+ feet... not so tough now r ya

  • Did you shoot that Almaco Jack? Great Video!

  • nice fish but dont like the tanks... it seems like cheating to me. i freedive and feel that if you cant do it on the same level as the fish (naturally) then you dont deserve it. imo. we cheat already with the wetsuits, fins, mask etc.

  • How many of the knuckleheads who are disgusted by this video eat fish that someone else had to catch for them or beef from a cattle farm.

Let any one of them who think we have an unfair advantage, take a dive to 150' and try to fight an AJ to the surface with pipes, barnacles, murky water and 5 knots of current to contend with.

When you sit down to your filet o' fish at Mcdonalds, I'll be eating the redfish that I worked for. Or the venison that I took. And we DO eat what we shoot!!!

    LZ

  • @Cadien dude i agree with everything that u just said in every way. the only thing i hate about this vid is that their tanking... no skill in tank diving

  • @redstagwith243 Obviously you've never spearfished on an oil rig...

  • @Cadien dude you are so right i spearfish, hunt, and fish and in my 14 years of life my father, and other fishing buddies have taught me to never take any animal(accept for maybe wild boar) if you arent going to have some use of it.

  • @Cadien i think u eat to mutch

  • The fish were impresive but spearfishing with tanks is pretty poor form. Frowned apon and illegal in Australia thank god.

  • can you say domed ? 0:00

  • Spearfishing is a sport made by holding breath against nature conditions. It is not guaranteed that, man catch fish each time he dive. There is a contest between man and nature. Holding breath, being quite, hiding, choosing the right place and calling the fish. This all brings ADRENALINE. But in this video you don't fight against any hard condition. You have the oxygen tube and you have a lot of time to spear them. Is it fun? I don'T think. Is it legal? Not in my country. This is out of sport.

  • What gun was used

  • Awesome, sick, crazy looking fun :D

  • This isn't fair.

I think that those tanks should be inside you. Not on your back. Hope you get what I mean...

  • This isn't fair.

I think that those tanks should be inside you. Not on your back. Hope you get what I mean...

  • ulan sizde avcımısız ib..l

    er

  • ulan sizde avcımısınız ib..ler

  • I know it is legal out there to hunt like this but I just can't fit scuba for spearfishing purposes. this is just a piece of cake. wait and shoot.

  • I also watched this same group of guys shooting tarpon on another video. I was raised to eat what you kill. Idiots like this is what gives groups like PETA and the Humane Society ammunition to use against real sportsmen.

  • this video is friggin awesome

  • love the footage of the small shark chasing the mahi mahi, and the sounds of an angry diver swearing through his snorkel when he missed the shot. An all too familiar sound......

  • try to da this without SCUBA... in Europe we go down 100" to fish without it....!! You can do it if you are a good sportman...I´m commercial diver...and never do that.

  • what camera did you use?

  • Is anybody else fed up of this song? I`m starting to hate it

  • how deep is this water

  • why dont these ass holes spear their own ass ?just so they feel a bit what those fishes feel... fishes can defend themself

  • @memomota shut the fuck up. its a fucking fish, stop crying about it

  • This is not fare. you have to give the fish a chance of surviving , and the chance is your breath. No scuba!!!! Thats not a sport!!!

  • desse geito eu mato até mil l=kilos no dia.

    assim não tem graça nenhuma

quero ve o cara rala no peito..

  • Great video ,, about the comments of scuba, is ok to use them because the depth make this shit so dangerous that any little problem at 100 ft, say bye bye. I dont really use scuba much for spearfishing because i dont need to, what can you tell me about ab biller spearguns? are they gun enough, agile?

    thanks

  • do u actually eat them im just curious because of one of the other comments

  • Por culpa de gentuza como vosotros pescando con botellas se pierde el sentido deportivo del tema. A VER SI LE ECHAIS COJONES Y PESCAIS A PULMON. Eso lo hace cualquiera y lo denuncio abiertamente

  • Guys you shut feel shame... spear fishing shut be done freediving thats a universal rule !!! does not matter the depth... does Cuban guys some times have to swim up to 3 miles to the fishing spot, them they do spear fishing at 85 to 90 feet freediving... but the difference is they do it to eat and have some money for theyr family!!! god bless you...

  • artificial reefs that FUCK SHIT UP

  • i hope u get eaten by a shark or one of you shoot your spear at one another by acident fuck heads

  • good job spearing amber jacks with worms that your not going to even eat... and barracudas with ciguatera,,, asshole

  • good job spearing amber jacks with worms that your not going to even eat... and barracudas with ciguatera,,, asshole

  • This is Louisiana

  • Spearfishing using SCUBAS, shame on you, pussies !

  • Spearfishing using SCUBA, shame on you pussies !

  • Spearfishing using SCUBA, shame on you pussies !

  • Spearfishing is awesome... however i think it should be done freediving, not on scuba, its a little cheap if u ask me.

  • la pescasub si pratica solo in APNEA

  • hey...is there any shark there

  • bastardo hijo de puta ,das pena!!!!!!!

  • great video...

  • bastardo di merda non si pesca con le bombole ti dovrebbero arrestare

  • What area of the world is this?

  • You want other examples of overpopulation, okay. How about the lesser snow goose who are literally devouring the nesting areas in Canada that they share with many other species of wildlife. Another: African elephants in southern Africa. Alligators in Florida. You want more, I got a huge list.

  • @totonebadass That's it? The humane society and in Defense of animals as sources. If all you read is their crap, then I guess I can't be too hard on your ignorance. Where do you get your meat? Do you get it from the store? What chance did that cow, pig, chicken, etc. have is comparison to those animals harvested from the wild? I read quite a bit. In fact I have a degree in biology, but to deal with your kind I should have gotten one in psychology.

  • where is this?

  • my guess would be south east louisiana or mississippi.... most likely 60-80 miles offshore....

  • LOL at that last miss on the dorado ha that sucks! Badass vid though. As a free diver I think its totally gay when people bash scuba. I spearfish the rigs off of south texas and I want to try scuba to get down to the big reds, grouper and aj's! although sometimes I can chum the reds up to within 50 feet of the surface! went out today and blasted a chub to test the new gun lol. And I love the stone shot at 1:55

  • nice video, increasing fish population by killing the big ones and giving the fishs a place to live thats the way to go, and for the ones of you that think this is a savage beaviour think again, killing tousands in hidden farms for you to eat and talk bulsheet thats a crime agaisnt animals, be brave and face the animal that gives life for you to live.

  • and "experts" say that teh aj population is struggling, there are easily 50 different fish in this video alone

  • as you have the courage to show this ridiculous scene, you are weak! use your lungs to fish. and being irrational, you do not give chance for the animals.

fish apnea using their hookers. losers.

  • Bullshit. I'm and avid hunter, and I've heard this for years on end, that the purpose of the hunt was not the kill. True there is more to hunting and spearfishing than the kill, but tell me that you're not at least a little disappointed when you miss. Then tell me you don't get a rush when you take the shot and make the kill. Tell me these things, and I'll call you a liar. If you don't care about the kill, then take a camera and leave the spear gun on the shore, but don't lie.

  • People that defend this kind of behavior are pathetic. People who think it's not wrong to kill for fun are serial killers, it's just a type of killing not sanctioned by law (for now). It's because of people like that probably our children will never get the chance to see tigers or buffalos or bears in the wilderness. The rednecks that take pictures on mountains of buffalo skulls.

  • Hunters who hunt according to the law (laws which they helped develop), don't kill endangered species like tigers. We protect them. What have you done to protect endangered species or any species for that matter? It's because of people like you that states like PA have exploding deer populations that are so starved that they have to over browse the yards of people's yards. Hunters don't kill endangered species, poachers do. Hunters actively work to eliminate poaching.

  • I do agree with you here, it'a mostly hunters who "help" the development of hunting laws. It's like placing the police at the orders of the thieves.

Most species are endangered because hunting brought them there, poaching is just finishing them off.

No, it's because of people like you who hunted/exterminated the predators, destroying natural balances, and reduced their natural habitat. And by the way, 100% of poachers are hunters.

  • "True there is more to hunting and spearfishing than the kill, but tell me that you're not at least a little disappointed when you miss."

Really, like what? drinking beer 'till you get piss drunk? You assume to much, like the fact that most people take guns and go into the wild to obliterate everything they see.

  • What an ignorant ass you are. It's the hunters and fishermen of this country who fund the bulk of all conservation on the planet. WE are the ones who DEMAND limits on the size and quantity of our take. Without those of us who regulate the population in a responsible manner, there would be massive overpopulation of games species leading to decimation of feeding grounds, massive starvation, disease, and plummeting of those species populations.

  • Hahahha, hunters/fishers are the bulk of what? What world do you live in? You are the only ones that take. And not responsibly, may I add. You regulate? After your kind erases almost every last trace of wildlife, you regulate and help? Massive overpopulation? Where? Name another one. If only wolves, blue whales and the rest of them (expecially bunnies :) ) could take advantage of your kind gestures.

  • How crazy is this world , when hunters accuse the rest of not doing anything to preserve wildlife... I pity you! I pity myself, and most of all I pity our children.

PS: no more replies, it just makes me sick. And I have added the responses, it seems, in inverse order. You should read from last in this batch towards the first.

  • Although someone should obliterate you. For fun, of course.

    (Just couldn't help myself! :) )

  • Why don't you go hug a bunny. That way when I shoot him to limit the overpopulation, I can make 2 kills with one shot.

  • ...and believe me it will be fun.

  • Hey, you insanely educated protector of wildlife, try and read sometime (and stop spreading that cr*p about overpopulation, for every case of overpopulation there are dozens of endangerement/extinction) : 1/issues/wildlife_overpopulation/ 2/facts/hunting.html

    (can't add links in comments)

    replace 1 with w*w*w*.*h*u*m*a*n*e*s*o*c*i*e*t*y*.*o*r*g

    replace 2 with w*w*w*.*i*d*a*u*s*a*.*o*r*g

    of course removethe stars

  • there's also a space in wildlife_overpopulati( )on that you need to remove in the humane society link

  • What many of you critics of using SCUBA don't realize is that to spear the really big ones on the oil rigs, many times you're below 100'. Try that holding your breath. Even with a tank on your back, the fish still have much of the advantage. They are built for this environment, not us.

  • Really? What's the advantage of the fish? Speed ? : you use harpoons, way faster. Temperature? : you got suits, the fish are butt naked. "Try that holding your breath." Who is holding breaths? You got tanks of O2 on your back.

"They are built for this environment, not us."

Yeah, if it was au naturel, but you use technology that dwarfs the natural adaptations.

They don't even know you hunt them, you're not on their list of natural predators.

    Loser.

  • You really are a joke, you know that. You probably have never been in the wild or diving. The "harpoons" we use have a very limited range, not that much of an advantage. Believe me the fish aren't cold. It's the temperature they are adapted to.I don't care how much technology a diver has, he is clumsy in comparison to ANY fish. You think fish are smart enough to know their predators? They know from experience. Put predatory pressure on animals they learn to avoid you.

    Educate yourself

  • Very limited? 15-20 ft or more is limited? The average shark top speed is ~17 ft/s. So it's not very limited. Man is clumsy in all environments. But fish DO KNOW THEIR PREDATORS. And you, a clumsy gorilla in a swimsuit, don't fit the predator profile. Take your own advice too.

  • @htdoran Thats the difference between sport and catching. I spearfish because its a challenge. Im out of my element and pushing my limits. But heck i have no problem with people spearfishing while scubadiving. But its two quite different things.

  • @htdoran Amen brother! I get sick and tired of seeing these "Fellow spearo's" claiming that tank divers are "raping the environment", "pussies" etc. They have no idea what they're talking about, I would love to see any one of them try and drop down and get a large AJ and live to make it to the surface. If they're using modern spearguns, fins, wetsuits, lead weights, mask etc. then they're no different than tank divers.

  • where is this

  • I do not know the locale Taylor. There are hundreds of oil rigs in the gulf.

  • @hlfmnhlfamzg This is Louisiana

  • @Taylormel11 louisiana where its at baby!!!!

  • people can do what they want

  • People should take a look at a study run by the University of Santa Barbara California (UCSB) which is titled: OIL AND GAS SEEPAGE FROM OCEAN FLOOR REDUCED BY OIL PRODUCTION

Google the title and take a look at the study. This is one amongst many things which are part of what makes it a relatively easy argument to make that offshore oil drilling is good for oceans and beaches.

  • @hlfmnhlfamzg if i ever see you hell idvers i will sent you to hell.....that is not spearfishing is killing motherfuckers..............

  • Hey mate amazing video... I dived on rigs as well i can tell u its fantastic... Clear water and a great abundance of fish ! best
