@Barracuda340000 yeah but this was in the finals, where hemsky scored the game winning goal against the president trophy winning wings with 30 secs left, eventually leading us to the finals
montreal almost repeated it. too bad they didn't. and also too bad their goalie did everything and it wasn't a hard fought battle like the one we had in edmonton
lol the oilers are rebuilding they have to suck, when the rookies gain experience we'll be a playoff team, i guarantee, it just takes time for teams to rebuild, like the pens or the caps
this is a great video and it also relates to the flyers vs devils series in that the devils were far favorites AND also to the montreal vs washington series
as an oiler fan this makes me laugh, terrible attempt at chirping the oil...make one about the preds, im sure if this series they are in now was decided on paper they wouldnt have scored the worst goal in playoff history (thier first goal, absolute disgrace)
@cnewb44 Wayne Gretzky, Mark Messier, Jari Kurri, Glen Anderson, Paul Coffey, Grant Fuhr... 5 Stanley Cups between 1983 and 1990... Yeah really, when have the Oilers ever been a force???
@gravino555 Could we argue that Gretzky was that great because of what he had around him? After all, once Wayne left Edmonton he didn't do much. At least Messier won two more stanley cups.
@Promelair Ever heard about the montreal canadiens? maurice richard, jean beliveau, henri richard, larry robinson, guy lafleur, patrick roy, boom boom geofrion? and what about the 5 straight cups between 1956-1960
or what if the shitty Edmonton Oilers didn't come in last fucking place every season. Or what if Ales Hemsky wasn't constantly injured. Or what if their front office wasn't retarded. Go Wings!
@1EpicLulz what if a perennial first place team like detroit could actually fill over 75% of there arena for regular season games? Great fans you guys have... History will be made
the red wings have trouble filling the arena for regular season games because Detroit is by far the hardest hit city in the country by the economic downfall, people dont have extra money to go to the games. besides i think before all that started, the wings had like an 11 year sellout streak, from 1996 to 2007...hmmm didnt that aforementioned economic crisis start around 2007?@theelboweater
@acmocaco You do know this is the first time ever that the Oilers finished in last place and is also the first season where Hemsky missed more than 20 games in a season. And it seems when there is success people forget past failure, The Wings had a peoriod of time where they only made the playoffs twice in 17 years. and they cashed in with Steve Yzerman. hitting rock bottom is the best thing that can happen to a franchise, and in 5 years the Oilers will be a force again.
Sign this guy Oilers. He's ready to play
