the movie"Cypher", sry to say, but it seems a bit of a clischee or sth. I believe you can die, if you want to, but not as a child with no real reasons for it.That's totally ridicoulous C'mon everything can still change for the better, if you're that young.
Oh god they made us watch this in elementary school. I already knew that being mean to other ppl was wrong and why it was wrong, ie ppl being mean to me, but this movie just sealed the deal with respect to me realizing that it's not ok to treat ppl like that.
Unfortunately, I think that the other kids in my class just didn't get it on that level. Shame.
so.... am i the only one who relates to this Cliff character??? I feel exactly like that. I have died so many times. All my deaths were too quiet to make a film out of. But that's me. When I saw this film I realized I must not be the only one reduced to nothing in life. But, I can't believe nobody on here is posting that they relate to him. Makes me feel even more like him lol
i think it's pretty customary for anyone with a good deal of early self-awareness in life to feel like they've died a bunch of times before they even graduate from the school system, although what kind of overall effect that has on our personalities i'm not sure
@blue1spiral We watched part of Cipher in the Snow today in class... It made me start to cry because of how much he reminded me of myself. Everything from his parents getting divorced to his lack of friends... I even had a fight with my third-grade teacher because she wanted me to go play with the other kids, but I refused and kept going out into the field by myself to look at bugs instead. Bugs didn't tell me how stupid I was and never stole anything from me...
@LinkaleeLewis Wow, 2 weeks ago? I haven't seen it since at least 4th grade and I'm 38 now...sure wish your school would loan you a copy of the film and possibly post it online somehow. Would be sweet to see that old film short again after all these years.
@blue1spiral almost 12000 watched 0 dislikes I bet a good portion of the listeners can relate on some level. It sucks to think more than the average person sometimes.
if you liked this, try to find the movie "cipher in the snow". That's where the footage is from...i saw it 2 years after shake hands with danger came out. trippy shit
jay, the opening synth/dialogue on this song makes me want to ride a bike into a bus, and the beats that follow mummify my mind like a pre-algebra textbook slowly lowered into a hot liquid bronze--good luck in l.a.

Oh Jesus we watched this in spanish class in high school. Don't ask me why. Needless to say TRS-80 improves it greatly.

I am living proof that the heart doesn't just give out after a life like that.

If I managed to love TRS-80 any more it would create a black hole that could suck the eyeballs from the sun's face.
This film is like a sentient robot processing and reprocessing abandoned 16mm film for the purpose of interpreting the human condition.
I'm definitely bying the new vinyl NOW.
Please come to Washington state..."you have to try harder..."

One of my social studies teachers showed us this movie twice over the course of a year. I laugh everytime I see him collapse.

I remember seeing this movie when I was like 6 and bawling my eyes out. I still consider it the saddest movie ever. The song is incredible.
