One is delusional. The other tells it like it is, like Hemi said. The surge may have worked, but how could anyone say it is a victory when people still die in Iraq in double digits? Claiming victory brings back memories of Bush's premature "Mission Accomplished" delusion.
One guy is a propaganda machine, and the other tells it like it is. The only reason our troops are in Iraq is to keep funding the defense contractors. Their bleeding this country dry. Google search, (Bush War Profiteer.) He's got the whole family making billions. If you do a search on (missing money in Iraq) you'll find headlines like, Missing 21 billion, Missing 9 billion, Missing 100 million. Taxpayers foot the bill for all of it. And John McCain will do the same fucking thing.
Did you see that banner going across the bottom that says, McCain says Obama's plan will give the oil companies 4 billion a year + 1.2 billion to Exxon/Mobil alone. Talk about a lying politician. How does McCain think he can get away with these lies. He's been doing it on a whole host of issues. He's even telling people that Obama will raise taxes on people making 32,000 a year. How can you trust a guy like that as president. And the media lets him get away with it. Totally fucking corrupt.
These wacko rights don't understand beyond hate- they are more afraid of women's and gay rights than the AL quada and taliban combined. Jon, thanks for your help we love you!
The surge WAS a success. The point of the surge was to escalate the war and to change the public debate from 'should we leave Iraq?' to 'should we end the surge?' I don't see any reason to deny that the Bush propaganda machine has worked very well in this war.
The "surge" is a non-sequitor. The Anbar Awakening occured long before the "surge". Sadr called a unilateral cease-fire for the country's largest militia. These asshats just want to claim credit for themselves. The truth is we LUCKED out that many Iraqis themselves wanted the violence to end. We should not count our chickens before they've hatched because many militias still exist and violence can easily escalate. We have yet to see blowback from Anbar after arming and training their militias.
I have to call bullshit when I hear it. Al Qaeda came to Iraq because we were there first; we invaded and destabilized the Iraq making it easier for Al Qaeda to opperate. Al Qaeda was not waiting for us in Iraq "drawing a line in the sand." Where does the red head get his news?
For all the surge has done the Iraqis want the US Military out. If the surge was a success, wouldn't they want us to stay???
