There is another version that is strictly instrumental. I heard both songs on an old retrospective LP that I checked out of the library 20 years ago. Is the instrumental version available?
thanks for the info....crazy but i am glad you know yr stuff cuz i love lead belly and so i am happy to know he is playing as well as singing .....thanks for posting...i live in a town called eagle rock and so i have a special place in my heart for this:)
I think so. I got it from a cd-collection called "nothing but the blues". there were about 20 leadbelly songs on it but this is the only one where he played piano.
There's another song with him on piano that's a lot like this song. It's called "Big Fat Woman". It can be found on "The Best of Leadbelly" (2003) and various other albums. "Big Fat Woman" and this one feature similar singing and the same sort of "stride" style of playing.
i'll never watch your video again! thanx for the shit commercial!

His amazing skill and soul is epitomised by the fact there is not a single dislike.

That's right, two versions - the other's instrumental. I had 'em both on an album, too.

I really love this - it's so frantic, dance yo'ass off! - I like the way he 'trips' cos it's so fast - but doesn't lose the rhythm.
