On Sept. 18, 2007, the NIH issued its plan to implement President's Stem Cell Executive Order 13435, making S.5 moot as S.5 pales in comparison in number of clinic embryos and other sources of human embryonic stem cells that EO 13435 authorizes for federal funding. Indeed the EO even includes a form of nuclear transfer. (It would have been sooner, but the Dems wouldn't bring S.30 for signature. Guess they didn't want to loose the issue.)

Breaking up placques cures in mice, nasal spray being developed (less dangerous than brain surgery); spinal cord injuries: patient's own cells get's patients up and walking w/braces. Embryonic stem cells are good to 'study' and lining pockets of researchers, politicians, and biotech execs ... not patients.
