The reason no one cares about handling in the us is because. First of all 99.99999999% of you will never own a super car and who gives a shit how fast something gets around a corner or the get you to McDonalds. As fat Americans (really USA...there is a South and Central America and North has Canada) go...there is no need for this when you can't feed your family. That's why most people don't give a shit about cornering. Cadillac shows there is no Money in cornering!
This video doesn't document the lap. It keeps switching views, and the views are not always sequential. It's a fast car but this video doesn't confirm 7:59. The new Camaro video does confirm a 7:41 lap and is very impressive, altho the car seems heavy, as you would expect, since it moves around on its suspension a lot.
This was nothing but a media stunt. Showing up with modified cars and full race crews, inventing a "record" then claiming it, does in no way make this thing rule in any way.
However this works in america where nobody will question any wild claim aslong as it supports an entirely fictional US superiority.
Fast it is. Sporty not so much. No automatic can be a real sports car - not even a million dollar super car. I just don't like the idea of letting the car do most of the work for you. I know that's only my opinion and many will think I'm an old dinosaur for not changing along with technology, but I don't care. That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it. Because it's a free world. Peace!
20,600 m (67,600 ft) 7:29.03 Nissan GT-R (2009) Toshio Suzuki 17 April 2008 Nissan Motors conducted test. The test used a stock GT-R with stock tires. Video confirmed.
@snowyphil65 You are right and I must add that I find the Cadillac pretier, but the STI is still a sedan and is faster and way cheaper. I don't care if there is little class differences, cause its still a sedan and that's the main thing
@alezlesbleus indeed, they are fine looking cars, and any sedan with that much hp has gotta be a kick in the pants, of course a wrx sti would be a kick in the pants as well
@Darkc0w Supposedly Heinricy said the auto version had better times than the manual version did. The road test's I've seen show the autos being a few tenths of a second quicker after 60. Probably something to do with gearing.
@blazzing4321 the BMW run was with racing dot tires. those tires are worth 15 or more seconds on the ring. the Caddy did it with the tires that come on the car.
@gtrdude777 I think some of those turns were a little rough here and there, I realise horst is a track star and this was his finest run in the vehicle but I bet on a better day, with him on the peak of his game, we could see sub 7:56 times that would prove it is faster than a panamera turbo... unfortunately right now, unofficially anyway, it isn't.
@rojm Wow, it only took them 2 years to manage that and even then only a 4-second difference. Looks like Cadillac caught them with their pants down big time.
hahaha i like how they say that its the fastest 4 door ''production sedan'' so what catorgory does a subaru STI fit in? the STI broke the 8 min. mark back in 2004! now the new 2011's are running 7:55 so whats up with that!
@thelustyjusty No, the 2011 lap time of 7:55 belongs to a WRX STi R205 with larger turbo that you will find listed in the "non-series/road-legal vehicles" section which is a different category than production cars.
I was really impressed until I checked the specs. If you give Audi or BMW 6.2L and a Supercharger to work with, they'd blow the doors off of this car. If they had the economies of scale that GM has, they could do it for the same price too. The car is a great achievement and a giant leap in a good direction for American performance sedans, but it does not show that GM engineering has passed it's main German rivals.
@black07Z 2x because they are so much smaller than GM and don't have the kind of purchasing power and parts bin and 1x because they can. Maybe it's closer to 1.5 and 1.5!
@pgoindi It always cracks me up when people jump to the conclusion that the American V8 is "low-tech" because of the displacement. My friend used to think that way until he realized that his 200HP Honda got roughly the same city MPG as my Mustang GT. While I am on the subject, I too bought the hype that OHC must somehow be better and have found along the way that they are heavier, harder to work on, and still don't breathe as well as the GM pushrod V8. The LSX is amazing for it's size/weight.
You freaks are bitter and angry about life. Neither of you is going to change each other's opinions. So shut the fuck up and like whatever you will. I've driven this car and it is truly amazing. Now please just shut the fuck up.
Glad to see american cars can finally turn, though my 57 chevy still cant :( . But its ok since its set up for drag but I'm still glad that now US is going against the big guys in Germany.
Ive been laughing at these silly american Nurburgring media stunts for years. Im sure stories of american heroes going abroad to kick ass appeals to the flagwaving masses.. But .. I just looked at the official press images from GM and Chrysler and I can clearly see racecar interior, race seats, full rollcage, which requires a complete rebuild of the car. Lowered suspension and twice as fat race tyres. So they can shove their patriotic rubbish and wild claims up their ass.
There is no official timing at the Ring. Nobody checks if cars are "stock" Its like holding a worlds strongest man competition by having people mail in their own results. Anyone is free to claim what they want. Viper, Corvette, even Cadillac going to germany with full factory backed race crews to hype their cars for the European market right in the middle of their worst financial disaster. Then ALL claim wooorlds best on their first god damn weekend. Going home emptyhanded just wasnt an option.
@Janusha You're JEALOUS! LOL! And what car does your country make that's better than the Cadillac CTS-V? Oh, that's right: Your country doesn't make one! Hahahaha! You need to ride on the backs of foreign countries like Germany or Italy to brag about THEIR cars, not YOUR cars. Shut your pathetic mouth you dumbass. HAHA! :)
Its not a prerequisite for my country to build cars for me to have a knowledge of them silly arse. Im sure this america vs the woooorld thing you guys got going is all very entertaining but it also makes you look pretty damn stupid.
@Janusha hahah ur from fuckin norway, what a faggot,ur country is more poor than are smallest state in america loser..u should erase ur u tube page and save the shit talkin from everyone dousche bag..o and ur video uploads on ur page are gay....u prolly still live at home with ur mom and prolly have sex with ur sister while ur dad bangs u in ur ass...hahhahahaahh.....to bad america dosnt invade norway and build a wall around it 1 mile high then fill it with water...
@Janusha I've seen the photos. I'm seeing the roll cage and race seats, and maybe lowered suspension. But race car interior and race tires? Were there some other photos I wasn't aware of?
This isnt the only pictures Ive seen. Its easy to spot the different tires too. Corvette also reluctantly admitted running with a full rollcage and a number of mods. "for safety" was their bold lie. After seeing this, its easier to believe claims of using race fuel too. Its amazing that these silly media stunts are still being used as a battering ram for american engineering by every bewildered flagwaving fanboy out there. All claiming stock cars. They cant ever have looked at the pictures.
You dont need an open mind if you believe in reason and laws of physics. The Cadillac isnt made out of magic.
And whats the fuzz about anyway. Nissan started this Ring stunts when they tweaked the shit out of their 2 litre 90s Nissan Skyline and posted the worlds first 8 minute lap. The Cadillac with its 3 times larger engine and race mods are only claiming 1 silly second better 20 years later. Its not like this is spectacular and amazing.
That the Ring is some kind of international benchmark where all cars go to determine whats best is largely an american myth to give these claimed records some validity. Its a public, open-for-all tourist attraction and a test track on certain days. For testing durability and stuff. Thrashing a car around there puts more stress on various components than a family can manage in a year. There is no official timing. High speed factory backed publicity stunts on closed track are very rare.
@Janusha Shut your pathetic mouth. You never said this about German or Italian cars I'm sure. Only when Americans test their cars here you complain like a 5 year old little girl. LOL! Your bias shows too much, and no one should trust your word AT ALL! You are here to try and trash that which you know is a threat to European cars, but again, your country doesn't make anything like CTS-V, Corvette Z06, etc. So shut up and watch the show, little girl. lol
You said it yourself... You can see a full rollcage and race seats, twice as fat tyres and a lowered suspension. It doesnt matter exactly what they did to it. They claim its a showroom car which it obviously isnt. Also... why dont BMW, Mercedes, Audi claim Ring records with their 500-600 hp salooncars ? Because they arent as good as a god damn Cadillac? Or because this belief that the Ring is some kind of benchmark, is a big american myth.
@Janusha I saw rollcage and race seats. Both of which, you know, help people not die when they crash. I did not see race tires and I am not certain about lowered suspension. I asked to see proof, and you went off blabbering about "reason and laws of physics." Hell, are you going to claim that rollcage and 6-point race seatbelts somehow make the car go faster?
Plus, Cadillac has something to prove. German carmakers don't. That's why it was so important to to these "stunts." Duh.
Haha yeah who needs reason and laws of physics. Those are minor details when americans decide amongst themselves whats BEST IN THE WOOOOORLD. There will obviously not be any proof. They didnt spend all that money on this publicity stunt only to tell us later "And this is how we did it..." They obviously prefer it like it is now. When every bewildered flagwaving nutcase can tell eachother yet another feel-good-about-america story. Reality and laws of physics become mere details next to that.
I can clearly see the tyres are twice as fat. So are they race tyres? Who knows... But they sure as hell arent stock. Nor is a full rollcage which provides alot of stability and stiffness and greatly improves a cars track abilities. Also it requires a full rebuild to install. You need to inject Kennedy grade patriotism directly into your eyeballs to believe american multibillion dollar corporate spam and nationalistic hype. Thing is..They said the car was stock and it isnt. Simple as that.
@Janusha "Nor is a full rollcage which provides alot of stability and stiffness and greatly improves a cars track abilities."
Roll cage? Or anti-roll bar?
Tell you what. If GM's "cheating" is so obvious that random internet assholes like yourself can see through it, give me ONE credible source (as of, NOT a random internet asshole) that makes the same claim. If there is a legit source that makes the same charge, GM lied and that won't be the first time. If there isn't, well...
Haha an anti roll bar and a rollcage are completly different. If you lift your patriotism goggles off for just 10 seconds, even you could see the mods I mentioned in the press released pictures.
But... If america and americans had the ability to accept reality and even look abroad for answers some times, you might not be in the shit you are in. Its amazing how you keep eating corporate hype and wild claims from bankrupt multibillion dollar companies desperate for some credibility in Europe.
I looked at Edmunds dot com list of the top 50 selling cars in USA for 2010. Only 7 of them were american brands but only 3 of the 7 were actually american made. US-cars are completly overrun by its competition even in your home country. Top 10 selling cars for last month were 6 asian cars, then 2 Europeans and finally 2 american trucks. Americans in desperate denial, unwilling to realise how far american cars have fallen from grace. But none of that keeps them from shouting BEST IN THE WOOORLD.
@Janusha *Yawn* Several of the best selling "asian cars" in America are designed, engineered, and manufactured in America. (Case in point: Toyota Camry) But hey, that's funny. If Americans are in denial, why are they even buying foreign cars instead of American ones? And no, even the dumbest hillbilly I've ever ran into even knows the "Tay-youda" is not an American brand.
But of course, don't make me stop you from making a complete ass out of yourself.
@Janusha I know that, dumbass. And I left my "patriotism goggle" off, which is funny because I'm not even an American, and looked again. So I'd like to retract my statement. I DON'T see a full roll cage. All I see is a harness bar. I see normal interior, normal suspension, and normal tires. You must be smoking something extraordinary.
@Janusha Of course, who needs proof when Europeans somehow OBVIOUSLY hold a monopoly on rationality and science? Your America-bashing had reached to a point where you are simply ranting and putting words on people's mouth. Here I was, trying to have a civilized conversation, asking to see some photos to back your claims. You acted like asking for a proof is some kind assault against science and reason. Was that really hard? Proof? Evidence? A fucking photo?
In ANY discussion with an american its only a matter of time before the inevitable flagwaving starts. Any hint of realistic criticism is met with OMG.. YOU HATE AMERICA!!
Nothing prevents america from building quality cars except their determination not to. Did they spend money on research and development? Hell no.. Just fish out the same old Corvette engine used in soon every single US-performance car and fit it with racing parts. Job done. Well.. american claims carry no validity over here.
You see.... If I claim to have done the god damn Nurburgring in 7 minutes in my own car, its up to ME to prove I did it. Not up to others to prove I didnt. The burden of evidence lies on them... not me. Any big mouth can claim a wooorld record and these days... Claiming is what america does best.
"If (GM) claim(s) to have done the god damn Nurburgring in 7 minutes in their car, its up to (the GM) to prove (they) did it. Not up to (random internet assholes) to prove (the GM) didnt. The burden of evidence lies on (random internet assholes)... not (GM)."
Do you even know what you're saying at this point?
@Janusha That's funny, because a) I'm not an American, I just live in America b) You're the one who started mocking Americans in the first place and c) since when am I the defender of American cars in general? The only American car I actually like is the CTS-V. The rest is crap.
@Janusha Yeah. Not buyin' it. Don't try to run away from your own shady logic. Your logic was: a) American cars suck. b) It can be demonstrated by the fact that even Americans don't drive American cars c) But Americans think their cars are the best, because, whatever!
When I pointed out that b) and c) don't really make sense together, you went "Whateva! I don't give a shit what cars they drive!!"
Yeah, I'm done engaging you in a conversation. Try someone else.
Hey. If they once build the real thing instead of CLAIM to build the real thing, Ill be the first to congratulate. Atleast they can offer diversity so we dont all have to drive german and jap cars. However at the moment and for the forseable future, claim is what they do best. American or not, believing publicity stunt fairytales from companies in deep crisis is just naive.
@Janusha Corvette engines have amazing performance at Le Mans 24 hour and American Le Mans series racing, so Corvette engines are proven, and even in 2006 the LS7 based Corvette engine won INTERNATIONAL racing engine of the year, so you should shut your OBVIOUS jealous mouth up. That's why you;re on all these American car YouTube forums, because you're jealous and angry since your country doesn't have any cars like this. You're embarrassed, and a big whiner. lol! :)
The Corvette engine wins races in USA because its just about the only american option left now that the Viper is dead. Its cheap and available. Its the only engine you guys got. Amazing isnt it. NOTHING else is used in american performance vehicles. Imagine if the corvette engine and the corvette really were the pinnacle of automotive industry that all the great supercars can only aspire to... Even then... Is it enough to just have ONE internationally competetive vehicle? you people are so dumb.
@Janusha your a faggot loser, shit talkin the vette and cts-v....what do u drive....a fuckin honda trail 90.....shut up befor i come over there and prison r@p3 ur mom why u watch and cry like a little whinnie bitch..
@Janusha Because they know they'll be embarrassed by the Cadillacs time, just like the STOCK Cadillac CTS-V, also driven by NON-GM drivers, beats the BMWs and Audis on oTHER tracks where you have NO excuses either. LOL! Pathetic moron!
America is on their way to putting their third car on Mars... So no arguement there. Which is exactly why its so ironic when they fail at cars on this planet... It aint rocket science.
Even more ironically, americas only internationally competitive cars, Corvette and Cadillac CTS-V (both use same engine) and both are cars that dont sell outside USA.
@Janusha the GM team has worked on the Corvette engine for many years. This engine is superb. Lets put all of the European and Asian cars on a prallel track to the moon, and see which one gets there first. BMW also makes good engines, they were used in WWII on airplanes (and current day British race cars). I wonder if the Veyron would make it there. Ir produces so much heat.
Its amazing how much faith americans have in their few internationally competitive cars. Im not saying its shit... But we all know everything american gets hyped way past its actual capabilities. Cars are no exception. The Corvette engine gets used alot in racing, kit-cars and GM products because its cheap and available and there are already exsisting parts out there to put it at any state of tune. Its completely unrealistic that something out of the 50s is actually best in the world.
@Janusha What??? Go get some help. No one said you couldn't speak your mind. I'm just saying what you're speaking is bullshit and for no proven reason whatsoever.
Haha! You are simply made and angry that Americans are beating Europeans at their own game! Your jealousy shines as obvious as the Sun does! I see you on all these American car YouTube forums blabbering about because you're threatened by American dominance that is growing more and more every year. American car companies never tried competing with Europe until lately, and when they tried, they succeeded! LOL! You pathetic nitwits always ASSumed you were superior, but now you're wrong!
Hahaha I dont give a crap what cars you drive over there. Chrysler was given away to Fiat for free to avoid a full scale bankruptcy, GM is just back from being bankrupt and even Ford was under government protection. Pontiac died only 2 months back. None of that keeps you from claiming BEST IN THE WOORLD. haha the naivety is staggering. Whether the topic is cars, politics, economy, or god help us all, your military or world conquest proportions, this naive faith in your own excellence -
- simply for being american is always the same. This firm belief in your own superiority that no amount of bankruptcies or squeeky plastic can shake. You are a bunch of flagwaving bewildered nutcases. If americans had the ability to accept criticism or look abroad for answers, you might not have ended up in the shit you are in.
You see.. When Im talking about cars. I talk about cars. when I talk about politics, I talk about politics. Americans instead use big words and frantic flagwaving.
@Janusha You're a liar, Janusha, and your jealousy shows way too much. Try giving up on commenting on these forums, unless you ENJOY embarrassing yourself. You look really pathetic right now. We're laughing at you. :-D
Does anyone else think that there aren't any true american muscle cars out there?
There's the camaro and the charger but they just don't have the power a true american muscle cars should have (I think they should have atleast 500) + they have autamatics. There are some other good cars (like the CTS above or the ZR1) but in my opinion they're just to complicated.
@Janusha Of course it is but thats not a mustang straight from the factory, ya know what I mean? Although You can get a Camaro with somethin like 600 horse and its still covered under the factory warranty. I dunno, when I think of American muscle I just dont think 500 horse needs to be a starting point, ya know?
@MrLordNacho: Don't forget about the Ford Shelby GT500 with its 550HP engine. And the up comming Chevy Camaro ZL1, which is gonna have around 550HP as well. The Ford Shelby GT500 is manual only.
The new Camaro is a redressed Australian Holden Pickup truck. The new Challenger is a recycled Chrysler 300C which again is a discontinued 15 years old Mercedes base.
I'm a BMW guy. And I was going to get a E60 M5 soon. But I've been doing my research. And soon I will go test drive the CTS-V. And my decision will be made. Will see w hat happens.. I love that the CTS-V has matched torque with horsepower. And the fact its a v8 supercharged and not naturally aspirated.
@ v1p808 and heartboy86 man u two are gay going off topic u should know sti time is official and its stock "not tune" dumbass v1p808 and heartboy ur a fag hahaha just because LoL u two have fun talking all u want cause i know im rite ahahaha
This is a luxury car, with full interior, dual climate control AC,all the goodies, and on the tires you BUY it with. This car is the real deal and its putting GM back on the map. Are you being surprised that the Cadillac brand has now put out much higher performance than what you see now in Camaros, mustangs, and any other american muscle car minus GM's pride and joy?
To be fair, forced induction engines are always faster than big displacement engines. Lets see how this car will perform against the new turbo engines from bavaria and affalterbach...
@chewyaj dude you are talking about modified cars we are talking about stock cars, you could also modify a evo, a6 or citroen, or ford focus and those can still beat an sti. so whats your point? I could modify any car to the point where it might beat a cts-v but then it is no longer that car. we are talking about STOCK not modified and if you were to modify a cts-v it would lap a subaru. get off the subaru band wagon chump
@chewyaj .. Ok first of all this is a record breaking lap video of a stock CTS V not some suped up Subaru.. So gtfo if that's not what you see.. Caddy doesn't put 4 cylinders inside cars like these because they know real mean want that v8 sound!.. You are making unrelated claims and Subarus are far overrated!
u two are getting worked up pretty good here....id take the sti any day as ive been in one and find its the most comfiest to date....plus the performance i get for the price i pay is great too....that being said....i think the cts-v is the best car that has come out of GM let alone caddilac.
@heartboy86 3s to 3.9s is a deviation of 24% - an unexceptionable level under almost any criteria - so yes your fact was wrong. Again - what do you drive? Can you drive a stick? I think the V is a great car - but to win the argument of which is better you need to focus on its competitive advantages - luxury, not trackability. Performance for dollar is won by the STi any day. Thats were bikes come in - performance per dollar a bike will walk on any car. Have a great day friend!
@cschilli68 performance by dollar, yet again you are just proving you are a dumbass, the v is more than a performance car dumbass, bikes have nothing to do with convo dumbass, just please shut the fuck up please,so you get a ssi check or something,i already answered those questions fag
@cschilli68 you have to be the dumbess person i have encountered on utube since i joined a couple years ago,the v is 4200lb and still gets around the track in 7:59 that's incredible, not only can it can go around the track it has straight lining performance unlike you SHIT,opps i mean STI and plus the caddy has luxury features unlike your STI,the caddy has street tires and still was able to go around the track under 8min and plus there is no official time of the STI you dumb piece of shit
@heartboy86 here is the video dumb fag look at the official time you gotta get your cars rite your the one on ssi hahaha cant you see that v is slower by 4 sec ahahaha dumb fag
@chewyaj ,wow thats only one category of the car, when the sti can reach up to 193 than come back to me,unlike your shit that has race tires, the 4200 v has street tires and plus it has luxury, good damn you are one dumbass dude bitch
@heartboy86 wow you are a dumb fag that know nothing about racing course huh?
why is it base on going on a straight line? the v could go up to 193 all day but still lose to the sti racing on the nurbur ahahahah suck on that fagget
@chewyaj dumbass like i stated already you cant comprehend the two and plus the 4200lb v did it under 8min,its sad that a little sti neeeded race tires needed to beat full size sedan, unlike your sti the v has luxury, speed, handling ability with street tires and o yea has an official time
@heartboy86 what a fag look at the specs the v has a zr1 motor 550 hp plus cost twice as much a v8 and look its slower than a 2.5 turbocharged 300 hp cost less v4 3200 lbs and its still 4 sec faster than that v ahahah
now i wonder why you even got accepted in the army
@chewyaj how dumb are you,it has street tires and plus it wieghs more dumbass, wiegh has alot to do with it,let me ask you something which is more luxurious, whixh one can top 190,yea i thought, tell subu-fags to make a 4200lb car with street tires that goes around the track quicker than 8 min than come talk to me dumbass,no wonder,i see what ppl has been telling me,these public schools arent hitting on shit nowadays wow
@chewyaj dumbass its a smaller car, wiegh balance is key on a car,the size of the engine has little to do with power or how fast the car goes, you sir are a complete crackbaby, crack infested dumnbass, aww poor lil crackbaby is mad because he has to wait 7 more days for his ssi check, awww dont worry the govt chesse will see be at krogers on the 15
@chewyaj now now lil toby stop playing utube gangster in your mom's basement and lay off the crack pipe ok,kid and please learn something before you make an ass out of yourself crackbaby
@heartboy86 now go tell cad to make a 4cylinder 2.5 turbo charge 3200 lbs with racing tires that cost 30k and get the time faster then the sti then you could talk all the shit you want ahahaha well it was fun but when you look at the sti official time you'll know look it up and be amaze by it ahahaha later dumb nigga
@chewyaj go tell subu-fags to make a car with street tires that can hold 5 ppl and still feel like a luxury, true sedan instead of this fucked rally car that they call a sti,its not hard to do really, you know you write them a letter stating your concerns, dumbass crack baby, please dont tell me your fam is still shooting up

@CadillacDeadman24
This was nothing but a media stunt. Showing up with modified cars and full race crews, inventing a "record" then claiming it, does in no way make this thing rule in any way.
However this works in america where nobody will question any wild claim aslong as it supports an entirely fictional US superiority.

20,600 m (67,600 ft) 7:29.03 Nissan GT-R (2009) Toshio Suzuki 17 April 2008 Nissan Motors conducted test. The test used a stock GT-R with stock tires. Video confirmed.

@Methlin Lies. That was tuned and non-stock tires. lol
On other tracks, the GTR is roughly as fast as a Porsche 911, and that surely isn't anywhere near 7:29 on N ring.
Sorry bud, but Nissan is unreliable as a source when it comes to INTEGRITY for its N ring lap times. They've cheated before, they cheated again! lol!

@gtrdude777 I think some of those turns were a little rough here and there, I realise horst is a track star and this was his finest run in the vehicle but I bet on a better day, with him on the peak of his game, we could see sub 7:56 times that would prove it is faster than a panamera turbo... unfortunately right now, unofficially anyway, it isn't.

thelustyjusty 8 months ago
@thelustyjusty No, the 2011 lap time of 7:55 belongs to a WRX STi R205 with larger turbo that you will find listed in the "non-series/road-legal vehicles" section which is a different category than production cars.

I was really impressed until I checked the specs. If you give Audi or BMW 6.2L and a Supercharger to work with, they'd blow the doors off of this car. If they had the economies of scale that GM has, they could do it for the same price too. The car is a great achievement and a giant leap in a good direction for American performance sedans, but it does not show that GM engineering has passed it's main German rivals.
pgoindi 9 months ago
@pgoindi you would pay at least 3x as much for one too.
black07Z 9 months ago
@black07Z 2x because they are so much smaller than GM and don't have the kind of purchasing power and parts bin and 1x because they can. Maybe it's closer to 1.5 and 1.5!
pgoindi 9 months ago
@pgoindi It always cracks me up when people jump to the conclusion that the American V8 is "low-tech" because of the displacement. My friend used to think that way until he realized that his 200HP Honda got roughly the same city MPG as my Mustang GT. While I am on the subject, I too bought the hype that OHC must somehow be better and have found along the way that they are heavier, harder to work on, and still don't breathe as well as the GM pushrod V8. The LSX is amazing for it's size/weight.

Janusha 10 months ago
There is no official timing at the Ring. Nobody checks if cars are "stock" Its like holding a worlds strongest man competition by having people mail in their own results. Anyone is free to claim what they want. Viper, Corvette, even Cadillac going to germany with full factory backed race crews to hype their cars for the European market right in the middle of their worst financial disaster. Then ALL claim wooorlds best on their first god damn weekend. Going home emptyhanded just wasnt an option.
Janusha 10 months ago
@Janusha You're JEALOUS! LOL! And what car does your country make that's better than the Cadillac CTS-V? Oh, that's right: Your country doesn't make one! Hahahaha! Northax 10 months ago

@Janusha I've seen the photos. I'm seeing the roll cage and race seats, and maybe lowered suspension. But race car interior and race tires? Were there some other photos I wasn't aware of?
globalforce 10 months ago
This isnt the only pictures Ive seen. Its easy to spot the different tires too. Corvette also reluctantly admitted running with a full rollcage and a number of mods. "for safety" was their bold lie. After seeing this, its easier to believe claims of using race fuel too. Its amazing that these silly media stunts are still being used as a battering ram for american engineering by every bewildered flagwaving fanboy out there. All claiming stock cars. They cant ever have looked at the pictures.
Janusha 10 months ago
@Janusha I'm keeping an open mind. Do please provide some source?
globalforce 10 months ago
@globalforce
Janusha 10 months ago
That the Ring is some kind of international benchmark where all cars go to determine whats best is largely an american myth to give these claimed records some validity. Its a public, open-for-all tourist attraction and a test track on certain days. For testing durability and stuff. Thrashing a car around there puts more stress on various components than a family can manage in a year. There is no official timing. High speed factory backed publicity stunts on closed track are very rare.
Janusha 10 months ago
@Janusha Shut your pathetic mouth. You never said this about German or Italian cars I'm sure. Only when Americans test their cars here you complain like a 5 year old little girl. LOL! Your bias shows too much, and no one should trust your word AT ALL! You are here to try and trash that which you know is a threat to European cars, but again, your country doesn't make anything like CTS-V, Corvette Z06, etc. So shut up and watch the show, little girl. lol
Northax 10 months ago
@Janusha See, not biting it. If this is NOT spectacular and amazing, what makes you so certain they cheated?
globalforce 10 months ago
@globalforce
Janusha 10 months ago
@Janusha I saw rollcage and race seats. Both of which, you know, help people not die when they crash. I did not see race tires and I am not certain about lowered suspension. I asked to see proof, and you went off blabbering about "reason and laws of physics." Hell, are you going to claim that rollcage and 6-point race seatbelts somehow make the car go faster?
Plus, Cadillac has something to prove. German carmakers don't. That's why it was so important to to these "stunts." Duh.
globalforce 10 months ago
Haha yeah who needs reason and laws of physics. Those are minor details when americans decide amongst themselves whats BEST IN THE WOOOOORLD. There will obviously not be any proof. They didnt spend all that money on this publicity stunt only to tell us later "And this is how we did it..." They obviously prefer it like it is now. When every bewildered flagwaving nutcase can tell eachother yet another feel-good-about-america story. Reality and laws of physics become mere details next to that.
Janusha 10 months ago
I can clearly see the tyres are twice as fat. So are they race tyres? Who knows... But they sure as hell arent stock. Nor is a full rollcage which provides alot of stability and stiffness and greatly improves a cars track abilities. Also it requires a full rebuild to install. You need to inject Kennedy grade patriotism directly into your eyeballs to believe american multibillion dollar corporate spam and nationalistic hype. Thing is..They said the car was stock and it isnt. Simple as that.
Janusha 10 months ago
@Janusha "Nor is a full rollcage which provides alot of stability and stiffness and greatly improves a cars track abilities."
Roll cage? Or anti-roll bar?
Tell you what. If GM's "cheating" is so obvious that random internet assholes like yourself can see through it, give me ONE credible source (as of, NOT a random internet asshole) that makes the same claim. If there is a legit source that makes the same charge, GM lied and that won't be the first time. If there isn't, well...
globalforce 10 months ago
Haha an anti roll bar and a rollcage are completly different. If you lift your patriotism goggles off for just 10 seconds, even you could see the mods I mentioned in the press released pictures.
But... If america and americans had the ability to accept reality and even look abroad for answers some times, you might not be in the shit you are in. Its amazing how you keep eating corporate hype and wild claims from bankrupt multibillion dollar companies desperate for some credibility in Europe.
Janusha 10 months ago
I looked at Edmunds dot com list of the top 50 selling cars in USA for 2010. Only 7 of them were american brands but only 3 of the 7 were actually american made. US-cars are completly overrun by its competition even in your home country. Top 10 selling cars for last month were 6 asian cars, then 2 Europeans and finally 2 american trucks. Americans in desperate denial, unwilling to realise how far american cars have fallen from grace. But none of that keeps them from shouting BEST IN THE WOOORLD.
Janusha 10 months ago
@Janusha *Yawn* Several of the best selling "asian cars" in America are designed, engineered, and manufactured in America. (Case in point: Toyota Camry) But hey, that's funny. If Americans are in denial, why are they even buying foreign cars instead of American ones? And no, even the dumbest hillbilly I've ever ran into even knows the "Tay-youda" is not an American brand.
But of course, don't make me stop you from making a complete ass out of yourself.
globalforce 10 months ago

Proof? Evidence? A fucking photo?
globalforce 10 months ago
In ANY discussion with an american its only a matter of time before the inevitable flagwaving starts. Any hint of realistic criticism is met with OMG.. YOU HATE AMERICA!!
Nothing prevents america from building quality cars except their determination not to. Did they spend money on research and development? Hell no.. Just fish out the same old Corvette engine used in soon every single US-performance car and fit it with racing parts. Job done. Well.. american claims carry no validity over here.
Janusha 10 months ago
You see.... If I claim to have done the god damn Nurburgring in 7 minutes in my own car, its up to ME to prove I did it. Not up to others to prove I didnt. The burden of evidence lies on them... not me. Any big mouth can claim a wooorld record and these days... Claiming is what america does best.
Janusha 10 months ago
@Janusha Let's see....
"If (GM) claim(s) to have done the god damn Nurburgring in 7 minutes in their car, its up to (the GM) to prove (they) did it. Not up to (random internet assholes) to prove (the GM) didnt. The burden of evidence lies on (random internet assholes)... not (GM)."
Do you even know what you're saying at this point?
globalforce 10 months ago
@Janusha That's funny, because a) I'm not an American, I just live in America b) You're the one who started mocking Americans in the first place and c) since when am I the defender of American cars in general? The only American car I actually like is the CTS-V. The rest is crap.
globalforce 10 months ago
I mock their blind faith in their own superiority regardless of overwhelming evidence to the contrary. I couldnt give a shit what cars they drive.
Janusha 10 months ago

You're embarrassed, and a big whiner. lol! :)

Janusha 2 months ago
@Janusha the GM team has worked on the Corvette engine for many years. This engine is superb. Lets put all of the European and Asian cars on a prallel track to the moon, and see which one gets there first. BMW also makes good engines, they were used in WWII on airplanes (and current day British race cars). I wonder if the Veyron would make it there. Ir produces so much heat.
gzaenker 2 months ago
@gzaenker

There's the camaro and the charger but they just don't have the power a true american muscle cars should have (I think they should have atleast 500) + they have autamatics. There are some other good cars (like the CTS above or the ZR1) but in my opinion they're just to complicated.

KLdutchman9 1 year ago
@heartboy86 3s to 3.9s is a deviation of 24% - an unexceptionable level under almost any criteria - so yes your fact was wrong. Again - what do you drive? Can you drive a stick? I think the V is a great car - but to win the argument of which is better you need to focus on its competitive advantages - luxury, not trackability. Performance for dollar is won by the STi any day. Thats were bikes come in - performance per dollar a bike will walk on any car. Have a great day friend!

@cschilli68 performance by dollar, yet again you are just proving you are a dumbass, the v is more than a performance car dumbass, bikes have nothing to do with convo dumbass, just please shut the fuck up please,so you get a ssi check or something,i already answered those questions fag
heartboy86 1 year ago
@cschilli68 you have to be the dumbess person i have encountered on utube since i joined a couple years ago,the v is 4200lb and still gets around the track in 7:59 that's incredible, not only can it can go around the track it has straight lining performance unlike you SHIT,opps i mean STI and plus the caddy has luxury features unlike your STI,the caddy has street tires and still was able to go around the track under 8min and plus there is no official time of the STI you dumb piece of shit
heartboy86 1 year ago
@heartboy86 your fucking dumb why dont you go search it up dump ssi nigga fag
go smoke your crack and think your v is faster than the sti cause when you see the outcome the v will be on my rear view mirror dump nigga

chewyaj 1 year ago
@chewyaj dumbass like i stated already you cant comprehend the two and plus the 4200lb v did it under 8min,its sad that a little sti neeeded race tires needed to beat full size sedan, unlike your sti the v has luxury, speed, handling ability with street tires and o yea has an official time
heartboy86 1 year ago
@heartboy86 what a fag look at the specs the v has a zr1 motor 550 hp plus cost twice as much a v8 and look its slower than a 2.5 turbocharged 300 hp cost less v4 3200 lbs and its still 4 sec faster than that v ahahah
now i wonder why you even got accepted in the army
front line maybe?
chewyaj 1 year ago
@chewyaj how dumb are you,it has street tires and plus it wieghs more dumbass, wiegh has alot to do with it,let me ask you something which is more luxurious, whixh one can top 190,yea i thought, tell subu-fags to make a 4200lb car with street tires that goes around the track quicker than 8 min than come talk to me dumbass,no wonder,i see what ppl has been telling me,these public schools arent hitting on shit nowadays wow
