I never talked about ipod touches. This is what i am so annoyed of, people comparing ipod touches to normal zunes and their apps. If you want to compare a zune to an ipod, compare zunes to ipod classics and nanos, zunes STILL win that battle. Also, if you still want to compare an ipod touch to a zune, go look up zunehd on google, The specs of it kick the ipod touchs ass. Microsoft wouldn't have put out the product if they didn't want to compete. That's what the market is all about, competing, so of course they were competing. The noticed Apple's dominance in the music department (over 65% marketshare) and they broke into the scene, only sharing 2% of the marketshare, LOL.

For me so far I have not payed for one song and I have more then 2,000. Aswell as about 90 videos. Not one payed for again. The ipod you have to pay for just about everything.

You can both buy songs from the Zune Marketplace and put songs you already have onto your Zune. You don't have to buy any content. You can put whatever you have onto the Zune as long as it's the right format.
I bought a first gen zune and i was not dissapointed at all. in face, i preferred it over iPod, and i used to luv iPod. but i weighed the pros and cons and zune came out on top. the reason i dont have my iPod anymore: it crashed 2 WEEKS after getting it. i dont have my zune anymore cuz it got stolen (the thieves knew quality when they saw it) so i kno that the second gen zune won't dissapoint me.
ipod linux is for the original ipod.. jukebox is for the nano and the video.. it has games and everything the ipod linux has.. but i did not like the interference
I much rather have internet and a huge screen then storage. Don't get me wrong, in comparison to the iPod video Zune blows it away, but denying that iPod touch is less functional then a Zune, it really does look pitiful, and this is coming from a Microsoft fan. Yeah thats true, but also keep in mind that they have had a sort of demand for a skinnier, thinner zune and they weren't so worried with touch screens as they were with trying to compete with ipod nanos. The touch screen will come in time, no doubt. It seems like they are following the trend of ipods,(video, nano, next will be shuffle probably, then touch, etc.) They are always going to be competing with ipod.

Creative Labs inventer the MP3 player with the RIO. Zune 2 will Rock. The iPod has a tiny screen, and the Touch has tine storage. Zune 2 has the best of both.

Are you totally clueless or just offended by the facts? ITunes is, and has always been the first digital music store to have sold direct - LEGAL- MP3- downloads to customers online. Amazon sold CDs at the time of iTunes arrival, not digital downloads. Napster and Limewire have never sold legal downloads, in fact to my knowledge never signed any Major Music Label? I'm iPod fan with great reason its a great music player and I really have no plans on switching. Apple is doing their part in creating great music players every year. While Microsoft just basically copies what they did with the iPod (with one difference you have to be a Window's user only.)

No, they didn't invent the MP3 player. They only created an EVEN better MP3 player from the first generation of MP3 players. Not to mention they created the DIGITAL MUSIC MARKET. But anyways, Microsoft was never known to pioneer any first generation concept of products. They take a much sneakier approach by copying a competitors offering then cheaply selling out. They did it with Windows, Internet Explorer, the XBOX and their doing it with the ZUNE.
They didn't create the digital music market. Online downloads were around way before them. Sure, they tweaked the service a little bit, but thats what Microsoft is doing now with their own player.
How can you possibly say that the XBox is a copy? Because they released a gaming system? Get out of here. If thats the case then Sony is a direct copy of Nintendo's products.

You can both buy songs from the Zune Marketplace and put songs you already have onto your Zune. You don't have to buy any content. You can put whatever you have onto the Zune as long as it's the right format.

I bought a first gen zune and i was not dissapointed at all. in face, i preferred it over iPod, and i used to luv iPod. but i weighed the pros and cons and zune came out on top. the reason i dont have my iPod anymore: it crashed 2 WEEKS after getting it. i dont have my zune anymore cuz it got stolen (the thieves knew quality when they saw it) so i kno that the second gen zune won't dissapoint me.

I much rather have internet and a huge screen then storage. Don't get me wrong, in comparison to the iPod video Zune blows it away, but denying that iPod touch is less functional then a Zune, it really does look pitiful, and this is coming from a Microsoft fan. Please don't take it the wrong way, but Microsoft really should have went with an all screen interface with internet. They have the ability to do it better then Apple, who cares if they did it first, what matters is who does it best.

well ipod has made several ipod family branches.
ipod- ipod, ipod photo, ipod video, and classic
Mini/nano- ipod mini, nano 1G, 2G, 3G
ipod shuffle- ipod shuffle 1G, 2G
and now ipod touch
i think microsoft will make more different kinds very sortly, right now they have.
Zune- Zune 1 and Zune 2
Flash Zune- 4/8GB mini zune

Yeah thats true, but also keep in mind that they have had a sort of demand for a skinnier, thinner zune and they weren't so worried with touch screens as they were with trying to compete with ipod nanos. The touch screen will come in time, no doubt. It seems like they are following the trend of ipods,(video, nano, next will be shuffle probably, then touch, etc.) They are always going to be competing with ipod.

Anyone else noticed how stupid it was to put the Zune loosely on that car's dash board? It's not like there isn't an existing assessory that MS couldn't copy from. Especially after showing the assessories for the Zune, this miss in detail suggests MS is not working very hard. Do they even care?

Creative Labs inventer the MP3 player with the RIO. Zune 2 will Rock. The iPod has a tiny screen, and the Touch has tine storage. Zune 2 has the best of both.

Awsome stuff it looks nice and its good to have competiton, it a little bit sad that people diss the zune and indeed diss the ipod they are all great products, and rivalry's like this are only going to lower prices for consumers and improve the technology! just check out the "microsoft surface" its amazing!

Are you totally clueless or just offended by the facts? ITunes is, and has always been the first digital music store to have sold direct - LEGAL- MP3- downloads to customers online. Amazon sold CDs at the time of iTunes arrival, not digital downloads. Napster and Limewire have never sold legal downloads, in fact to my knowledge never signed any Major Music Label? Please stop embarassing yourself with your troll baiting and your complete ignorance of the facts.

After seeing the NEW ipod Nanos, I cant STAND the new 4/8 gig ZUNES.
they look to outdated now. The Zune 80 is nice though, and its great its the same price as the ipod classic (80gb)
I still am going for the ipod touch though..personally.

It's a shame iPods can't squirt music wirelessly because when I go out, that's all I want to do. Music isn't for listening to, it's for sending to everybody all the time... Which is good because we don't have anything to talk about anyway.

I'm iPod fan with great reason its a great music player and I really have no plans on switching. Apple is doing their part in creating great music players every year. While Microsoft just basically copies what they did with the iPod (with one difference you have to be a Window's user only.)
All this ties in for you to use Windows, everyday. No Thanks.

No, they didn't invent the MP3 player. They only created an EVEN better MP3 player from the first generation of MP3 players. Not to mention they created the DIGITAL MUSIC MARKET. But anyways, Microsoft was never known to pioneer any first generation concept of products. They take a much sneakier approach by copying a competitors offering then cheaply selling out. They did it with Windows, Internet Explorer, the XBOX and their doing it with the ZUNE.

They didn't create the digital music market. Online downloads were around way before them. Sure, they tweaked the service a little bit, but thats what Microsoft is doing now with their own player.
How can you possibly say that the XBox is a copy? Because they released a gaming system? Get out of here. If thats the case then Sony is a direct copy of Nintendo's products.
And I'm not even defending them, I am a Playstation and iPod owner. I just get sick of you fanboys who cry stolen innovation.
