this is awesome , i am a newb and went on my first gatecamp last night , we only killed 1 guy but it was alot of fun and got out without any losses :p
@TheVidviewer I honestly don't know how hard it is now; when I played the learning curve was very steep (Google image search "eve learning curve" for an accurate depiction)
@RABIDD0GMA It is a vagabond, the "short range" Minmatar heavy assault cruiser.
btw, eve is alright, but when people vid it, they make it suck, they zoom all the way out where u can't see the action, plus there be fights with like thousands of players at once and u can't even really see whats happening, small battles in different areas would be more fun when going to war with another clan
Heh, good luck. Their just a bunch of guys acting like assholes, but their playing the game to have fun. I don't like them, but their far more likeable than band of brothers was. (I guess KenZoku now... or did they just disband entirely)
I believe even Kenzoku disbanded. I think that BoB is now back with name of IT Alliance and they fight Goonswarm and Pandemic Legion. Well, neither of them are good ones. Give one so much "power" and people will go astray with their common sense :P
Well from my view, EvE is filled with 'assholes', but only if you don't get to know them. The goonfleet being 'assholes' tends to put BoB in a good light, but BoB was a greedy, megahuge war machine bent on destroying and capturing as much in 0.0 as possible. However, most of these people are nice if you get to know them, at the end of it all most of them are playing to have fun, and EvE politics is always fun to see. The game tends to have a 'serious' politics side and a 'fun' side.
I've known and heard of plenty of 'evil' pirates who, after opening comms with them, are very friendly and even turn around and teach people valuable lessons in PvP and defense skills. Some people pirate for fun, and if asked will gladly pay damages. Several people see all pirates as 'assholes' and this is the reason 'carebears' are given a bad light, because of the minority who get ragey at someone who's just trying to have fun, when they blow up their miner/hauler.
@SikGamer70 Yea man I few days back I was killed by a guy who afterwords opened a conversation with me after seeing that I was new and that my fit was bad. I had only spend like 500k on my ship but he gave me 10m just to be nice. EVE isn't full of assholes.
Well, I think it's quite cheap actually. Especially as you can play for free if you make 300m a month to spend on time codes. I don't play enough to make that, but subscription is cheaper if you buy in longer amounts. Also the expansion packs are frequent and free..
best game by far and I don't pay anything plus I even do own 3 accounts :P Nothing's easier than doing trades a couple of days to get the iskies, takes me like 10/hours to get the 900m for 3 plexes so not really expensive at all!
The problem and advantage of EVE is it is not like any other MMO you have ever played. This is not WoW or Lotro or Warhammer or Everquest.
This is not a flight sim like Wingcommander or X-wing. However, you can do allot with the right fleet, group or gang
Lastly, death and pvp is more hardcore than other games. If you ever played Lineage 2 and thought that was hardcore. Wait till you play EvE and die in here. Unprepared people can lose stuff than can take years to replace - if ever.
@PiercedAnonymous exactly. this is what I like about EVE, the Halo/WoW kiddies that can't read or follow complex instructions fail and leave, in WoW if you die, you have little repair bill, all your gear you never lose, EVE on the other hand is more true to life, lose a ship it is gone, the chat in EVE is proof of a more educated mature crowd, not without its dim wits but certainly a higher bar has been set, also you can target your own teammates by mistake, WoW?.... no chance, making it dumb.
fck the game must be very boring? its looks very slow pace game lol... but u know what im going to try it out because the secnery look so beautiful ^^
Eve can be horribly boring, but it can also be kinda exciting. The combat may seem slow paced in this video, but it feels a bit more frantic when you're actually playing. And you get a bit of excitement from knowing that if you lose, your ship and all the effort you put into it is gone forever.
Eve has its ups and downs, its a very opened game and it relies on you to make decisions and some people struggle with the openness and cannot find the enjoyment. Yea, i agree 1v1 fights look terribly boring from the outside. To anyone involved though it is much more hectic. If you'd like to know more you can message me here at youtube and if you'd like help ingame send your character name to me and I'll chat with you ingame.

you sprint, you stop the guy from running away then you start shooting the guy. does the poor guy even have a chance to "divert all energy to thrusters" and run away? oh noes... passive module.
I just don't think "blowing things up" is the real attraction of EVE anymore.
More carebears to kill when ambulation is up, cheers.

I think the guy with the highest skill points in the game is a pure industrial alt. the richest people in the game were mostly trade alts. I can buy isk with GTCs, I can write macros to mine 24/7, or I can buy a macro to rat in 0.0 24/7, Why do I need "your" so called capacity?
Too bad this game is only for people who have played it for 2 years.. without the skills that evolve through time, you are useless in PvP... everywhere in this game is PvP area... so unless you hide in High Security space... you will get killed.. and each time you loose a ship.. you have to earn for a new one.
I disagree that you're only useful after 2 years. I've just now hit 2 years old, and I've been useful in pvp from about day 5 or 6. Once you can use a microwarp drive (2 days training max) and a warp scrambler (3-4 hours max) you are pvp capable.
And yes, there are pvp consequences. If your ship blows up, its gone forever. Its part of why eve is exciting to play rather than just a pretty front end to what amounts to a giant spreadsheet.
I'm no where near 2 years old and i'm flyin a nano ishtar in pvp. Before that it was a nano vexor, which did almost as well. Of course an older character will have an advantage, but its never overwhelmingly hard to kill an old player.
i've been playing it for 4 weeks now and i have a good understanding on how the game goes i have a cruser and 2 mill im hoping to get subscribed do i can get an industrial
Nonsense. In my corp we have weekold toons tackling very effectively. Much more training is needed to take on another role than tackler tho.... I have played Eve-Online for 2,5 years, got 44m skillpoints, buy i still love to fly the pvpships i started out with; tacklers.
I tried to reply to this a month ago but youtube was having issues accepting my reply.
The FC was probably in a drake. Also, as best as I can tell (this was pre-api so we can't automatically post all lossmails) we lost nothing larger than a thorax. I think we lost 2-3 frigates and the thorax.
