  • Nice to hear this smooth voice again and again,,,hope to hear it live one day in Germany...rgds from here and merry xmas

  • Steuart Smith is a guitar GOD!

  • Is that Steuart Smith on guitar? who is now in the EAGLES Band? He is very talented. 1000Magicians, thankyou for this video.

  • What difference does it make as to who is playing the guitar. It is the beautiful singing voice of Rosanne that we want to hear.

  • he didn't replace Schmitt you ding dong it was Felder!

  • Your all wrong! I wrote the guitar part.

  • This is my favorite Rosie song!

  • What year is this?

  • woah is that Steuart smith on lead guitar???

  • she's great but stewart did good, too..!

  • Who would have know that the guitar player would become the lead guitarist for The Eagles !

  • LOST MAAM IN 1989 SHE LOVED THIS SONG SO MUCH WHEN I HEAR IT I THINK OF HER THANK YOU ROSEANNE FOR REMINDING ME OF HER ....

  • Johnny Cash placed a full page ad in the Nashville Trade Magazine when he realized that Rosanne didn't know he had written the song until after she recorded it. Read her memoir, it's really cool but she writes a tiny bit stuffy. I like Rodney's book writing style better but they are both excellent authors as well as song writers. Check it out through Amazon. Music for your ears and books for your mind.

  • Steuart Smith is an amazing player. Great technique.

  • In most instances a musician's skills aren't passed down to their kids....Rosanne has Johnny's talent and then some!

  • As good as Johnny and great guitar work too

  • Awesome guitar player .

  • love rosanne and her daddy...:-)

  • love roseanne and her daddy...:-)

  • Steuart smith is a fucking beast. The eagles use him on tour now to take don felders old place. best guitarist ever. <3

  • @jamesisthewalrit ....I wonder when Glenn Frey and Don Henley are gonna wake up and do the right thing and make him a permanent member of the Eagles?

  • @MultiBaldEagle .....the answer to that is a resounding Never. Its all about money and control.

  • @MultiBaldEagle after they get done buttphucking Timothy B.Schmittt.

  • yeha johnny sang it first!!

  • What better tribute to Daddy?

  • Johnny is my IDOL.

  • The story I heard right after she first recorded this was that she did not know that it had been recorded by Johnny. Really shook her up to listen to his recording and then hers. Don't know the truth of it, though.

  • I love this song. I played it and put it on youtube under my other channel DH4hobbies. First song I learned to play on the guitar.

  • She is doing it in the key of A. Johnny did it in the key of D. Put capo on the second fret and then play in C chord.

  • @lyerlyman

You said; "She is doing it in the key of A. "Actually she is singing it in the key of B the guitar solo effectively switching to key of E. (The capo at second fret might have confused you) I do it in the key of G switching to C for guitar solo.

  • Great guitar player.

  • who's the guitar player?

  • She looks like Johnny with a wig on XD !!

  • thats a simple guitar thing to do my grandpa can do it

  • i couldn't do it

  • Luv this video!rosanne is as talented as her dad!

  • Errr no, you are wildy off the mark ! John wrote it not Rosanne. John had his hit version out in 1961.,.....

  • @1000Magicians yea you got that right this is jonnys song

  • @1000Magicians Oh Snap!

  • @1000Magicians He wrote it and she sang it (recorded it)!

  • @junlynluc So did he...

  • Performed by: Johnny Cash; Rosanne Cash

    Written by: Johnny R. Cash

Credits: Cash, Johnny R. (Songwriter); CHAPPELL & CO (Publisher); JOHN CARTER CASH (Publisher); VIVIAN D DISTIN (Publisher)

  • @fabfrith bless your heart

  • @fabfrith So Rosanne wrote the song before she was six years old? She was born in 1955, the song was released in 1961. I don't think so!

  • @pg1171 John Wrote the song.

  • @fabfrith you are a fucking idiot.

  • Hi Rosanne is very talented, takes after her Dad.

    God Bless.Eddie

  • Very talented guitarist, one of the best I've ever heard!!! Jim Soldi has nothing on Stueart.

  • For those who might not know...Stueart Smith is a terrific guitarist and a whole lot more than you can see in this short video...just pull up the Eagles and check out who's right there with Joe Walsh on the solo at the end of Hotel California. I've seen them three times and he is fabulous.

  • THIS GUITAR PLAYER IS VERY TALENTED

  • WOW the apples don fall far from the tree.

  • One of my very favorite recordings. Roseanne is highly underrated and a great singer, and Steuart Smith is one of the top handful of Nashville pickers.

I heard this on the radio just yesterday and turned it up for his solos as I wondered what kind of guitar it might be. I guessed a mahogany Martin or Gibson and lo and behold, that's a Gibson J-50 on the video (with mahogany back and sides).

That doesn't mean that's what Smith played on the record, of course, but it sounds the same.

    Concho

  • @lacowboy90211

There's a sweetness to Gibson acoustics that you just don't seem to find in Martins or other makes.

  • Great song, great guitar! Wish Roseanne and Rodney Crowell had stayed together!

  • He ain't no Jim Soldi.

  • Laurie

One of my favorite Rosanne songs, thanks for posting.
