I really liked this. I thought the alternate gunbarrel moment actually worked well considering that it was the first one (although why they didn't have it at the beginning of Quantum is beyond me). And then, delaying the theme and the line until the end made it all the more satisfying. I actually cheered a little in the theater.

All the Bonds can be compared to Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger's Jokers. Nicholson's approach fit into that specific movie of being an over the top but yet still evil bad guy. Ledger's was sadistic and dark and fit into the Dark Knight's universe. Daniel Craig fits into this role perfectly of a Bond that has a soul that is being twisted and turned but Sean Connery fit into the role of a suave and slightly comical Bond. Both serve their purposes well.

Casino is definitely the best Craig film yet. Quantum is simply poorly written, paced and in the case of the action sequences, poorly shot ( i got dizzy watching the opening car chase). But one thing that really bothers me is that neither have their gunbarrel sequences at the opening. What the hell Barbara Brocolli? tampering with the gunbarrel's location is something you should never do. Cubby gave you explicit instructions not to screw it up. Oh and David Arnold is no match for John Barry

Unlike practically every other Bond, Craig is actually...human. Sure Craig is the most cold, brutal, and bad-ass Bond ever, but he's by far the most vulnerable. He gets beat up (a lot), makes mistakes, he's cocky, wreck-less, naive at times, and he even falls in love which has devastating consequences. THAT is why Craig is without a doubt the BEST bond the franchise has ever seen....and Casino Royale is unquestionable the BEST written of all 22 films....
