Interesting on how this video which should be a celebration of God has degraded into an argument with those whose hearts have hardened.
I suggest it would be more fruitful to just talk about the video and the song.
I think we as individual people and we as a society don't have the wisdom to manage the destructive power we have wrought. We need a Higher Power to grad the wheel. Some times it is just too tough to do all by yourself.
I've considered many times previously what you suggest. Yes it can be, daunting trying to plant seed on stony or hardened ground. Most brethren agree. Only through the holy spirit that, we get called to light.
However, I can't help thinking of my own experience. I hated being told of God also but, after being broken is when I began to hear his call. And that call first came only lovingly from previous believers mouths.

My moment of truth came at the age of 14. I was bitter and angry after my daddy died two years before. My family was falling apart. I accepted God and all but forced my mother to do so as well. Our lives turned around at that point.

The Old Testament's packed with many Godly & unGodly types of lessons. We learn by reading them & applying whatever we learned. It's similar to watching a drama on TV or the movies.
In time God shows up in various situations. Being in frequent prayer works too.
So what that they believe in different doctrine they say that prayer works (btw buddha was not a god he was a man buddists are atheists) Why do they claim their prayer works if it clearly doesnt. Mormons came over to my house and they say to test the prayer too does that mean that it works for them although they have different believes. Or is it more that everybody thinks their religion is special and right but its really a bias. Its same stuff as with homeopathy.
Non believers of Jesus, don't want to understand. My DAILY experience has shown me that my prayers to him get a response. That's how & why, I enjoy life. EVERYDAY.

Depression happens to everyone. I am happy as an atheist and i had problems when i was a christian I was a kid but i didnt know what to believe and i was doing stupid things. It's not entirely true that non believers can't go to Heaven. If you were taught by your parents from the moment you were born that there was no god and you were never exposed to anything else then God won't hold u accountable (according to my faith and what I was taught). However, if u started out believing God was real and then decided that you didn't want to believe in God because it was "too difficult" then you would be held accountable.

Ten years ago when my life and the life of my family was not going too well and I was 14 I came to that conclusion. My daddy had died just two years before.
Namely, "Jesus, take the wheel." Every since I just gave my life to Christ then my life has really turned around. I am married to a fine man and we have a wonderful life.
every morning I simply pray, "I am Yours today". It's a great way to start the day. You have to surrender sometimes and live your life in the Light and to the Love.

Faith is the evidence of things unseen. Jesus is one man standing on a raging sea just holding out his hand. Logic says you will sink if you step out upon those waves, the whole world screams beneath the feet like that raging sea, they say you will sink because they have no faith, I say reach for him and see if he doesn't take the wheel. You both have valid points about God and the other ones out there. The thing is, theres evidence that Jesus.....well he had a daughter named Sarah... And he wasn't exactly as pure and amazing as everyone likes to believe. In the bible it says all man are sinners. The bible was written by man, why believe it? I have many other points, but not enough room to type them all. People have the right to believe what they want, but respect each other enough to not shove those beliefs down our throats.

In fact i did believe in God once. I am also open to discussion and for evidence of God yet noone ever given any evidence for god existence. I am open minded and as soon as i get valid evidence i will change my mind. Being closed minded is like people who claim God did it and dont even listen to evidence from the other side. I do believe in things i cannot see. Thats not faith! Faith is believe on bad evidence! And faith is not good. Faith is equivalent to being naive. Its harmful and people teach their kids to have faith its horrible. God never existed. Who made up Zeus? humans did. Who made up thor? humans did. Who made up allah? humans did . Who made up yahweh? humans did. All gods are made up by humans. They never really existed. just like unicorns.

And you should try other advice from bible like stoning anyone that works on sabbath or stoning disobedient children. I can quote bible too you know. Deuteronomy 21:18-21. There's no SELF interpretation. Millions of God fearing Christians have been debating the various teachings through thousands of years & miles.

But there's no "bad stuff" in God's Word to those who honestly seek him.

Deciding to follow Jesus teachings comes from testing them. From many instances of choosing his ways & seeing favorable results.
When we show hatred it, causes us pain. After understanding how to Love by Jesus teachings then, we learn by seeing results.
Reading the old Testament is, to see Jesus in every story. We first need to learn God's whole attitude from his son before getting, the point of ALL scripture.
And it's ALL based on choosing Love & forgiving each other before choosing HATE.

The Old Testament's packed with many Godly & unGodly types of lessons. We learn by reading them & applying whatever we learned. It's similar to watching a drama on TV or the movies.
In time God shows up in various situations. Being in frequent prayer works too.
It's actually pretty cool !!!

Mormons came over to my house and they say to test the prayer too does that mean that it works for them although they have different believes. Or is it more that everybody thinks their religion is special and right but its really a bias. Its same stuff as with homeopathy.

Non believers of Jesus, don't want to understand. My DAILY experience has shown me that my prayers to him get a response. That's how & why, I enjoy life. EVERYDAY.
As opposed to the 40 years of being Atheist.
I spent most of my time thinking of suicide.
And the ironic thing was, by the world's standards, I was successful.
The point is I've discovered Life's impossible to enjoy without a daily relationship with him. Not religion but Jesus. & all it takes is counting on him & him alone..

its the same with other religions they think their prayer works and it shows them that their god exists. Our brain is fully capable of fooling itself. We can imagine things that arent there fall for illusions and have a placebo effect. It sux being suicidal but just because something helps you it doesnt mean its not all in your head. This is how homeopathy works. I dont see how it makes sense either if you are an atheist and suicidal didnt you realize thats the only life you had?

Depression happens to everyone. I am happy as an atheist and i had problems when i was a christian I was a kid but i didnt know what to believe and i was doing stupid things. I dont believe in satan its easy to blame things that happen to people on him but really when we do something evil its our own choice and when something disastrous happens like hurricane its natural process that we should defend ourselves against not god's will. I hope you wont get depressed again i know how much it sux

i've been reading all these comments and i just dont understand 1 thing: if you don't believe in god, why don't u make it 2 heaven? i mean, there were thousands of people b4 us who have made it 2 heaven and THEY didnt believe in god or jesus. why cant it b the same w/ us? i mean, im not saying i dont belive in gid, i just dont have proof that he ever existed or anything like that. to me, god is like a vampire. there is NO physical proff they exist, but i still believe in them.

It's not entirely true that non believers can't go to Heaven. If you were taught by your parents from the moment you were born that there was no god and you were never exposed to anything else then God won't hold u accountable (according to my faith and what I was taught). However, if u started out believing God was real and then decided that you didn't want to believe in God because it was "too difficult" then you would be held accountable.

As for the Bible...it, like any other book, was written by the victors. In this case, priest whom liked to have control over the followers. There are contradictions in there. Just look at Corintians, one bit says women have an equal voice in the church and yet, just a bit further down (same passage) it says that women must be quiet and let the men rule

I feel that indeed some folks join a religion for peer pressure reasons and are hypocritical. For example, the CEOs of the mining companies that are destroying eastern KY and West Va with "mountain topping" are destroying God's creation and there are better ways to get coal. They can be generous donors to their church and they are not following God.

What the song means is letting Jesus take the wheel of your life, to surrender control to the Lord. I made that commitment ten years ago and have not regretted it. My belief, my knowledge of God continues to grow.

Ten years ago when my life and the life of my family was not going too well and I was 14 I came to that conclusion. My daddy had died just two years before.
Namely, "Jesus, take the wheel." Every since I just gave my life to Christ then my life has really turned around. I am married to a fine man and we have a wonderful life.
every morning I simply pray, "I am Yours today". It's a great way to start the day. You have to surrender sometimes and live your life in the Light and to the Love.

I wish I had time to ask Jesus to take the wheel before I lost both of my angels in a car accident last October. I can really relate to this song personally. Alyssa and Reagan, I know ya'll are in heaven watching over me, but Mommy misses ya'll and loves ya'll with all my heart, please pray for me that I can make it through this tragedy with Jesus's help!!

ndyt, Sparks belief in a YEC perspective does not prove he is crazy. At best it might only be proved that he is demonstrably wrong & that is dependent upon which evidence one chooses to accept. As stated previously, evidence is open to interpretation. I choose to accept the geological record & the speed of light as a constant & find no conflict within the Genesis account with this. But I am a finite being without all the information that may be persuant.

We rejected Eden? They weren't told eating the apple was a rejection, they were only lied to and told they would die that day which they did not. Maybe they were willing to die to end the boredom. A gilded cage is still a cage. They had all eternity to not eat the fruit, sooner or later they would have eaten it, god knew that. Oh, now I see why the simplistic mind can't figure it out. God told Adam that he would "surely die" {the soul} if he chose to deny God. Not just die by his flesh. Duh !
We are descendants of that flesh & spirit but, the lake of fire is burning for us too "surely die". Yet God gave us an out by, sending his son. All we must do is not reject him. It's the second chance at eternal salvation. Get it?

you know i can prove god is real i died i aint kidding i was killed when i was a child. My mother was beside me and i was laying on the cold hostpital bed not movie Docotors told my family that i might not beable to come back. They put some strang things on me and put electricity into my body and my heart started pumping again and my mom saw me open my eyes and i remeber seeing somthing or someone but no one saw it only me. You can tell me it was my imagination but i saw what i saw.
