  • The translation helped me understand the story so much :3 Since I was lost for like half of the video before XD

  • I heard that Battler couldn't understand Beatrice and that Will was the only one who did... is that right? I'm reading the mangas right now, but they're taking their time publishing all the chapters.

  • @HanakoFujita Battler didn't understand Beatrice until the end of the 5th game, by which is was too late.

  • @PataHikari Oh dear....

  • read manga battler is dead and this one new guy is new character

  • I was surprised when I found out that you changed the translations xD Mmm... I liked more the previous one, I memorized it and now it's annoying to watch it again xD

  • @GurrenExoddus I actually didn't change this one all that much. Far less than I've edited the other ones.

  • @GurrenExoddus lol I thought the exact same thing! It may or may not have been accurate but I did like the party where Shanon used to say Battler san is hurt..battler san is in pain. I wish I had the time to translate the kanji x__x

  • Is motion graphic 9 out yet?

  • Where is Battler in this one?

  • @Br4veDave Battler's role in this arc is very small. He shows up at the beginning and the end. Everything else involving him is a flashback.

  • Just wanted to let you know that I seriously appreciate you taking the time to translate these. I was watching them over and over again without the subtitles, and then was suddenly like, "Wait, I could actually be reading these too?!" Now I've watched them all over again just as many times. XD

    Thanks again for the effort!

  • What really is annoying is that i cannot find the O.S.T. anywhere. And i hate that there a skipping sound in the fist seconds.

  • Please do HMG 4 Next!!! Please!!!

  • I didn't even realize that UMG 8 was out yet. Thank you!

  • Woots! Can't wait~ ^^

  • @victorialau95 Gah, done. *pants like dog* Good on you for getting it done so fast. *thumbs up* The translations turned out more different than I expected. It makes me a little worried that I've got something wrong.

  • @clevomon Really?! I was getting worried that I was wrong too. >.<

  • @victorialau95 Well, for the most part, I was working without context, so although I translated things to the best of my abilities, I wasn't certain if you knew a bunch of stuff I didn't that would change the meanings of some of the lines. I do think I have that みたない line a little closer, since I threw it into a Google search with EP7 and managed to get a little context for it. Are there any that you think I have noticeably wrong?

  • @clevomon Actually... I played the entire EP7 before it got released.

Well, technically, that みたない was one of those which I couldn't get. I got nuts over its meaning and went to ask my friend, who went to ask her Japanese friends, and came up with the meaning "not satisfied".

But, yeah, yours is much better. I shall go check the game again. >.>

  • @victorialau95 Supposedly, it comes from a discussion between her and Maria. She states this line, and then Maria tells her (presumably not knowing that she already solved the epitaph) that solving the epitaph should fix the problem. I put that together with a definition in JDIC that meant "to wax (the moon)" - to become full, or, to rephrase, complete.

As I thought, you did the whole game. In that case, the line where they introduce Lion - what is the context of that line?

  • @clevomon Oh, now I remember. I'm gonna check out that part. ^^

I had been checking for the Lion line for a while now. I re-played the first half of the game, and there was a mention by the narrator about Lion and Will being equal (in the game board with the inability to escape), but I haven't came across anything said by Lion. I tried a direct translation for that line, which was pretty much what Lion would say.

  • @victorialau95 The thing about the word you translated as "viewpoint" is that most of the possible translations I saw had more to do with status than point of view. To quote JDIC: " standpoint; position; situation." That's why I translated it as somewhat close to rank. Let me know when you find the line.

  • @clevomon Alright, I've rechecked the game, and the line is one spoken when Lion told Will to be polite, explaining that since they are all stuck in that world thanks to Bern, Lion was willing to help him out with solving the "Who killed Beatrice?" question. So, apparently it was more of towards 'situation' rather than status.

Btw, I might need to check out that first line in the video. >.>

  • @victorialau95 Glagh, school work's a pain in the butt. I'm back though. I'll need to see for myself, I guess, though that's a good point. Regarding the first line, 望み is most often translated as "wish." Most of the rest of the line is derived from that assumption. 築いてもらう would be most literally translated as "to have someone else realize," and I just streamlined that a bit to "for you to realize."
