Instead of becoming upset at the bank for offering the card, you should be either upset with your daughter for her poor credit/lack of reading the contract or with yourself for not teaching her the common sense needed to navigate America.
FPB offers cards mainly for "bad credit" consumers, I however applied for FPB when i was 18, a few years later i lost a good job, me & the wife filed chapter 13 with a good 50k in debt, i know bad start, 3 years later we discharged, first offer guess who lol FPB, even after adding them into the ch 13. well needless to say they are helping me rebuild credit thank God, & the first month my scores jumped a few points. new credit consumers i say just take it slow and get better offers.
Thanx for the tip! I agree with u 100% about FPB! But teens n young adults like myself should ALWAYS use their common sense. I had that offer when i was 18 n i saw all these charges n fees n was about to do the unthinkable but since i saw all those charges i said screw this! Obviously when something is too good to be true its not really true! I am now 23 with a credit score of 740 n have never ran into scams like this!
ANYBODY STUPID ENOUGH TO GET A CREDIT CARD WITH THIS ROTTEN BANK IS A FOOL AND GETS BURNED YOU DESERVE IT....they GET YOU WITH RIDCULOUS RATE 29% and then raise it to like 79%
@mmikhaiel This is definitely NOT intended to her what so ever... Please exuse me not to insult any young person in my comment this is for those who ""already know"" how credit cards work....? I did and almost got screwed over and over....thank god for those checks I transferred all my balances ..and paid everything off!
Well I like many teens ruined my credit and now Im rebuilding my credit. So First Premier Bank has giving me the opportunity to do this by approving me. If you dont have good credit I knew I was going to have to pay a fee mine was 95.00 but then when i called they lowered it to 75.00 and a 7 dlls per month fee. What can i co when no one else helps me out.
I have the same credit card through First Premier Bank and they told me about these fees straight up. They told me very boldly when accepted my offer. And they DO report it to all 3 credit bureaus-I've checked. I've been pretty pleased with them. I always get through quickly to someone I can understand. I see where you're coming from though.
For this reason, the United States Government should close the bank and get rid of all the crooks who work in this bank. Nemesisracing2009 is one of them and his comment is shown below. Nemesisracing2009 is going to jail if he comes back to the United States.
hahahahaha YOU IDIOT U SHOULDA READ THE BOX WITH THE TERMS N CONDITIONS OF THE CARD LOOOOSEEER!!! INSTEAD OF BLAMIN THE BANK FOR YOUR STUPIDITY..I WORKED AT PREMIER BANK FOR A WHILE AND I LOVED TALKIN TO IDIOTS LIKE YOU WHO DIDNT READ THAT SHIT! IT USED TO MAKE MY DAY :P
1. You worked at a minimum wage of $5.00 an hour as a bank employee.
2. A professional people like you working in a bank don't speak bad language unless they are stupid idiots with no education and live in Spain.
3. I would suggest that you go back to school and learn how to deal with people and be honest or stay in Spain, drink beer and watch Bulls fight 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
bahahahahaha $5 bucks you must have me confused with a mexican or something? more like $15 + incentive for multy language speaking reps ..i speak 3 how many do you speak american? premier bank pays bank to talk to idiots.go back to school? i am currently in med school at SDSU..you poor man...i would invite you to go Espana, but you probably cant afford the flight ticket with your broke dick $250 credit card !! = O bye loser
WOW!! You are amazing with your talents and accomplishments. Are you going to be an animal doctor who treats Chihuahua dogs? If you are sooo good as you claim, then why don't you study in the States? Oh I know why, it is too expensive for you to pay your tuition. Well, good luck and I hope you will learn some ethics when dealing with people. And by the way they teach medical ethics course in the Spanish medical schools. Good luck smart ass.
i totally agree, i just turned 20 and I got my card today...it has a credit limit of 250.00 and I was charged 180.59 and I swear, I never used the car before. they said that I must pay $25. evey month ant before I can use the little $69.00 credit limit that is left over, I have to pay the 25 dollar first by 11/20/09. basically, im just paying the bank to rebuild my credit but i cant use any of the funds.....Im not even sure if they really do report to credit bureaus
Well i noticed on your movie you said to consult an adult... well they are sending them to adults... so advice.. .when you r children turn 18 teach your children to read the discolusres before jumping in ... they now accept all responsibilities of being an adult...first premier bank also improved my credit score 110 points ... after bankruptcy
Thank you for your comment. People like you make this beautiful country go down to hell. And you see that in the economic mess that we are in right now. I hope you are not one of the crooks that work in this bank.
at any business theres manipulation of the consumer. we know alot of people are too lazy or dumb to look at what they are signing up for, consumers want free money now and this selfish attitude has made my boss rich. now whats this rich man do with his money? he puts millions back into the community which is bettering our lives. so in this dog eat dog im proud to stand next to pbc they dominate and will conitue to.
You're bitter because your daughter wasn't intelligent enough to read the disclosure enclosed with her application (or didn't read the fee disclosure on the internet) prior to completing an application? Sounds to me like her problem has more to do with poor parenting and poor decision making skills than any "bad businness practices".
I have this card.. and it's pretty much the best thing that ever happened to me. Yes, there is alot of charges that initally come with the card, but that is because you probably have bad credit to begin with if you are being offered this card. Mine has helped me d oalot of things. I was even recently approved to purchase my first real car! thanks to first premier allowing me to have a credit card..
And the funny thing is their actually not the worst one out their. Bank of Delaware is the wors ive seen. Check this out with them you receive a $300.00 limit and $247 on the card when you get it
As a former employee of Premier BankCard/First Premier Bank, I just have a few things to add:
These cards are designed for people with less than perfect credit, or to establish credit for the first time. As a security measure, we impose initial fees on the card. These fees "secure" the "unsecured" card in a way. If you are unhappy and did not read teh contract before agreeing, you may process a "Non Use Closure." The fees will be eliminated and the account will be closed.
You now have $70 or so to use, as CREDIT! Minimum payments are low and easy for young people to make. As for the "fine print" comment, even 0% no inital fee cards use the same format. I hated customers who called in complaining about the fees that they "didn't agree to." Unfortunately, once the card is used, you are agreeing to the terms and conditions and the fees will not be reversed. A simple google search will keep "misunderstandings" like this from happening. Helpful?
I have 2 PremierBankcard Credit Cards and in 1 year they made me able to finance a car with 0% down. The only card I know of that reports MONTHLY to Experian, Trans Union, Equifax, and Innovis. That is 4 reports every month! Excellent card for first time borrowers or people with less than perfect credit.
In all my life, this is the first time I have seen a card with high fees and high interest. The bank is going after young people who have no experience in life. Why do you have a fine print in the application on the terms and conditions that is very hard to read? Why don't you be honest and make the fine print a clear print that is easy to read? I still think the whole thing is fishy and you are going after young people who are naïve and vulnerable.
By the way, Bank Employees get a 16.9% interest rate as normal cardholders get 9.9% Fixed unless the card goes delinquent. I will say, I have called very few delequent cardholders that are under the age of 25. The majority is Elderly people, and those that were irresponsible before, especially based on their credit report. As for the lawsuits, link me a couple that won ;). Not many have :) We do'nt even have an internal legal department. LOL
same happened to me lately, after google for information about First premier card, irealised the big scam i got into so i called the right away and and told them that it was a fraud that i have never applied for such a thing, that they had stole my information and that it was a crime. they closed the account inmeadiatly and took away all the charges... by law if they are not sure if it is a fraud or not they have to close the account right away.
thank you for posting this. same thing happened a friend of mine. he got this card. he was sucked in too. got a statment in the mail after not even using the card. tried to pay the $25 fee online found out that it was a fee to even log on to pay online a one time fee. Then he had to pay $7.00 just do do a auto draft. THIS COMPANY IS CRAP!! DO NOT GET THIS CARD
It's not a debit card, it's a credit card, and a subprime one at that. Perhaps you should have educated yourself on credit and prepared your daughter as well. The so called "scam reports" are mispelled even by calling it first premiere bank. People just have no accountability when they sign a contract so they feel they have to shift the blame so they do not feel so dumb. The ads clearly say it's a credit building credit card. If you are unhappy, don't let her get a subprime credit card.
Instead of becoming upset at the bank for offering the card, you should be either upset with your daughter for her poor credit/lack of reading the contract or with yourself for not teaching her the common sense needed to navigate America.
