I don't really know much about the new code of points, can they take off if they don't think a jump is executed very nicely? Not technically, but I mean like if it's not "pretty"?

They can't take off points if the jump is executed correctly, but if it is very smooth and "pretty" they can add on points (GOE).

yes, they can give it a negative GOE (grade of execution) which lessens the value of the jump. i think the system really needs to be changed, especially when it comes to "!", "e" and underrotation calls. skaters are penalized so hard when they underrotate or go off a wrong edge, sometimes it would be more beneficial to just not do anything hard. they lose the value of the jump AND they lose points with the GOE marks. it's a tad bit unfair sometimes...

she got the full rotation on her 3-3 this time because her entrance into her flip was a bit more controlled than in past competitions where she got UR calls on the 3T. Usually that rocking edge causes her to curve sharply to the right, losing most of her speed and preventing her from getting the full rotation for the 2nd jump. But this time she maintained a straighter ride in and out of the 3F and maintained her speed and hit the 3T. Once she fixes her technique, she'll be unstoppable...

Shes a very graceful skater, except for her jumps. Yes, it is not against the rules to position ur leg so high, but figure skating is more considered as an art, and not a sport--- I think she should be more graceful in her jumps

Junior ladies shouldn't do spiral sequence in free program, it's rule for season 2008/2009 :)

No, but the judges usually mark junior skaters lower in PCS. It is not supposed to be like that, but it is a fact.

I heard this is because US media sent in a complain to the ISU that spirals are inappropriate. That is why they removed it from the junior ladies free skate. Might be a rumor though I heard it from some international judges.
