  • p.s. but you're fucked if your fighting palhares.

  • ok,not so bad,ok,ok,ok :D

  • gayest start to a video....evar..

  • are the trying to teach me a gay sex position??

  • i wonder if u have to lock your foot

  • I thought the leg had to be locked straight out for a knee bar? This looks more like what I think is called a calf slicer.

  • How the hell do you plan to do that in that kinda pain ankle locks hurt like shit

  • When you fight for your life, do you stop think about if the position you are in is gay or not? FUCK NO. STOP CALLING JUDO AND JUJUTSU GAY.

  • Where exactly is the pain when you do this? In the knee or in the shin bone?

  • its not a kneebar but a calf lock, anyway this is very basic but well teached.

  • Do they still practice leg lock in Judo?...its illegal in competetion

  • @rahulde78 It varies by the school. My school still practices leg locks and ankle locks and whatnot, but we're a traditional class. Most olympic style classes don't teach them.

  • @BakaYaru13 trad. Judo

  • ayy who gives a shit how u look if you win your good and plus thats not what the uniforms look like

  • i don't get how that's a knee bar. Maybe a hamstring crusher. I'll try it though, looks like it works, just have an issue with the name

  • I cant get this video out of my head-> tiny[dot]cc/fisting17

  • pretty good vid

  • lol that's his problem... Karo is the BEST and has been in the sport of MMA since the age of 14! Btw, aren't they in different weight classes??

  • lol of course he is and his the best armenian mma fighter out there

  • Is this guy armenian?

  • Technically its a knee seperation but clarrifed as a kneebar by gene lebell!

  • Who Karo has learned from.

  • @ozoneromania Gene Lebell

  • @ozoneromania Gokor Chivichyan and 'Judo' Gene LeBell.

  • this is a leg compression

  • Karo parisyan use's almost in all of his fights that's what I'm reffering to. I haven't seen too many judokas in pride or other organizations use it constantly like he does in MMA.

  • nakamura does good judo throws in pride.

  • ok karo i know you are a good fighter but that isNOT a knnebar

  • You're the BIGGEST TROLL dude! Why the fuck do you even watch his videos moron?? His a legend Judoka who has adopted his shit in MMA like no one else! And you're just a sad little cockroach running around :)

  • "...adopted his shit like no one else"? In the UFC yes, but in other MMA organizations like PRIDE there are many other successful judoka with similar record.

  • im sure your just as good, infact why dont you put a video on, better so why dont you go figt karo or any of us

  • how is this a knee bar? Isn't it a calf crush? If a kneebar is the same as an armbar, you would have to extend the fucking leg.

  • dude your the best teacher .. high five for you and more more video to come...

  • woulded his leg be broke by the time you get the counter in? it jest seems to take tooooo much time and thats not the way i would do the leglock any way. i may be wrong. i can allmost see the legbar working, pull that bitch to the side.....subissions101is cool to me!!

  • You're not going to use all these moves in an actually fight. Like this move for example. Someone who doesn't train in Brazilian jiu jitsu, or judo, will less than likely know how to counter a triangle choke (I.E. armbar) or know how to execute a leg lock. So, a basic understanding of groundfighting is all one needs for self-defense. However, it's still good to know if you're in a competition.

  • @Dirtydog102 A triangle choke isn't an arm bar.

  • @JBMontgomery87 This is an old comment I don't even remember this. I see improper grammar doesn't slip your eye. I tend to type fast, and I don't always have proper grammar in mind. I know armbars and chokes are not the same. I most likely meant to use "ETC."

  • thats hot

  • gentlemen...men who know these compicated subissions dont need to see these videos.i have few experience and cant do what i see here

  • partner doing leg lock on wrong side.

  • i take krav maga and i think that is the best for street fighting plus u learn other mma moves and ground fighting techniques

  • Why is Karo's opponent falling the wrong way when he attempts the Achilles lock?

Sorry, this isn't a likley scenario from a leglock guy (though possible)

  • extremlely effective just a bit harshh if u dont like breaking peoples limbs, also most mma fighters have really good stand up so of course its street effective there trained for all round combat not just 1 aspect of fighting.

  • So.. is MMA street effective?

  • mma isnt really street effective...just like street isnt mma affectiVe....if kimbo ever brings his fat ass to the ufc hes gonna get his ass whooped badly lol

however it is street effective if your fighting a pussy lol

  • @beauholbrooks So you're saying that Kimbo beats Cain in "the street"? Naaaah. How could solid Muay Thai, wrestling, chokes and, yes, even submission holds, NOT be useful in a street fight? You think being able to kick people in the crotch just invalidates all that? Good luck. :P

  • MMA is the most street effective martial art IMO

  • Its not a Martial art,its called a Combat Sport, and yeah,if you have a good instructor,it can be very street effective. I left that comment 4 months ago, like 2 weeks after that,I join MMA and its changed alot about me lol.

  • How is MMA not martial arts? Do you know what MMA even stands for?

  • It's not really about instructor, but on your self lol. Don't blame shit on these guys, just because you might not be able to do stuff. MMA is not only submissions, and grappling. Even striking makes you very good fighter, and I don't think you need a great instructor to learn you how to jab or hook...

  • of course you need a great instructor at something like muay thai or boxing to become a successful striker. they teach foot work, how to counter punches, how to evade leg kicks and punches, combos, and most instructors have their own method of teaching. lets say barney the dinosaur taught me boxing and my opponents trainer was freddie roach. im sure the guy who has trained with freddy would win.

  • @ZidaneDaMan10 I dunno I hear Barney's gotta mean left hook haha

  • Mixed Martial Arts nub

  • if u are fighting alot of people then no mma is not useful but if it is only u and someone else then it can be effective

  • Idf you are fighting allot of people,no fighting style is usefull, and its how you use the style. very basic stuff here im telling you.

  • yeah and if u dont know mma dont use it

  • it, just hurts a lot, bot it's also hard to break someones arm with armlock, not as hard but it takes some strength, and the reason people tap is because it hurts, so causing a lot of pain is always enogh (if the guy you are fighting isn't really drunk and can't feel a thing)

  • I want to show you this style of training to you, just do a search for the martialarm in youtube or google. This device is really a good Tae Kwon Do Practise Tool Im going to get one to train my kung fu at home

  • Can that actually do damage to his knee or just cause alot of pain?

  • He called it a knee bar, but its actually a calf cutter.

  • Jesus Christ! Are you serious? My coach calls this a "calf crunch"... There's not one name for any of these techniques... Who cares?!

  • A knee bar is a totally different technique. I've heard this called a calf splicer and calf cruncher. But it's definitely not a knee bar!

  • I thought it was wrong but now I know its not just me.

  • He says left leg while using right leg, com'on

  • right behind my bottom!

  • God you're immature hahahaha

  • they look a little gay

  • LOL!!!

  • "they look a little gay"

If that's the case then victory looks a little gay, and who cares how you look if its going to get you that.

  • if the heat says its a knee bar its a knee bar lol

  • lol

  • all my karete skill is useles.towards a mma fighter ı am fucking a girl not a man

  • @M2N2c2z2 wat about machida, he uses karate

  • thx man im praticin for mma to

  • Thats not a knee bar...its a calf slicer.....a knee bar is straight and hyper extends the joint.....like an arm bar...

  • hahaha he goes put my left leg over and he puts his right over nice form karo hah

  • i love how the training partner is picking the lint off the mat when Karo's talking. Keep it clean, guys!

  • That ankle lock sucks when it is being applied to you and this looks like a great new way to get out of it with a win. I have never seen a knee bar like that but am eager to try it. Thanks!

  • Surely his dvd series must help his opponents so much. He basically has his whole grappling game on it.....

  • so? theres TONS of shit on youtube exposing moves that anyone can use, shit will get out eventually, just like oriental martial arts did way back when, when all the old guys were getting mad at bruce lee for selling secrets etc... stfu pussy

  • If you have ever done Jiu Jitsu you know that it is not that easy. It takes years of practice to get that good. I have rolled with less experienced guys where I tell them at the start how I am going to submit them and often get it.

  • Yes i know that, but this is not jiujitsu. This is karo's unique grappling system combining Judo, Sambo, Catch Wrestling and Jiujitsu, which is very rare and hard to prepare for....and his dvd breaks it down and gives his opponents and advantage

  • Perhaps it is an issue of semantics. This does not give his oponents and advantage, but it might give him less of an advantage. He is the expert at this, so it would only allow his oponents a little more insight into what is coming.

  • It's all about execution

  • Teach your strongest moves to your adversaries. There is the idea, that you should hide the resources you use to win at all costs. I am against that. I always offered my knowledge, even to my adversaries. Of course, often I am not able to get them with the same moves and techniques I taught the. It doesn't matter. This made me have to perfect myself to beat them. In other words, if you teach your strong points to your training partners and adversaries, you will be forced to evolve.

  • 5 stars

  • I agree! People PLZ read Karo Parisyan, Judo For Mixed Martial Arts, Submissions!!

  • That guy is doing the leg lock in the wrong direction. At least in Sub Wrestling we do the Achilles and ankle locks turned into the opponent

  • its not the wrong direction. And this isn't for wrestling. Its for MMA.

  • Well the version we do isn't as escapable :D

  • in the hands of Karo, there is no escape.

  • ROFL, it might be Karo doing but how is this even remotely connected to judo?!

Anyway, it's a nice and working counter as long as you can relax enough and get a hold of his neck. Though getting your hand and wrist under and past kneepit might be a bit of a problem when wearing mma gloves.

It's more of a calf slicer then an actual knee bar by the way.

  • ufc needs more judo pros like karo...it's fuckin awesome to see a guy get judo throwed in a fight.

  • if you can grab his neck, why dont you use your free hand to punch?

  • Because there would be nothing behind that punch you wouldnt have enough base or leverage to get a decent amount of power

  • If you have an opportunity for a submission you should take it. You can use up alot of energy punching when you don't need to.

  • i couldnt agree more,it only takes one,usually

  • ufc kyro is best judo i seen

  • Well now... we arent talking about this working as a counter for YOUR particular leglock! this counter DOES WORK in this situtation! Belts has nothing to do with it!!

MY first comment was directed to the other's that didn't decifer this video correctly.

  • you would never be able to feed the arm through to the sweet spot on the wrist, also there is no way to control the head like that he can just push the hand off with the free hand.Foot in his ass and spin is your only move, well at least at my level of leg locks and jiujitsu. That might work on a blue belt..

  • THIS works. I've practiced this many times with the guys at the pedro saur gym here in Utah. You only need to pull on the head for a sec to adjust, if you don't get the head the arm works too. If you were to take a hand off you lock to try and stop that... I could escape your achilies lock. Feeding the hand through isn't hard at all... and if your knee bar doesn't make the guy tap, it makes him let go and your counter move has worked... which is the whole point!

  • lol your talking about basic jiujitsu I got my black belt back in 2002 I have been teaching for 5 years now.

So here we go if I rapped around a leg like that the first thing I would do is fall to my side start a heal hook and go in to a , that stops all spinning and I would never tie my legs like that a good leg lock you rap into a triangle like hold and hid other foot under opponent's thigh. This would never work.

  • that weird my comment did not show up right.

I would go from heel hook into toehold.

  • Pay attention to the video you DUmbAsses!! Karo's partner is getting him in an "Achilies Lock" because you crush the Achilies tendon! The way he approaches it is the way YOU would want too! (look up eric paulson) Karo grabs the head so he can lock his foot to buy time!! time to reach under the knee and wrap his opponent countering into a knee bar!! is the video that difficult to decifer for all of you commentors!?

  • if this was an mma fight and you could reach his head like that i think it'd be easier to just punch him

  • More like a Claf/Muscle Crusher, rather than Knee-Bar. Besides, chance of getting an ankle-lock from his side like that are slim. . .

  • dont lay down that way when you do the ankle lock

  • okay. okay. okay. okay. this guy can kick my ass in his sleep. I should start makin fun, okay.

  • nice vid. good instructor. but when I saw the opening scene, I was like "WTF?".

  • calf crush/calf slicer is what we call those...not really a knee bar

  • Not sure if "knee bar" would be the right term, isn't a "bar" straight? I've heard this called a "knee block" before. Not sure if this needs to be banned from competiton since I am unaware of it ever being used in competition. If someone has a clip of a MMA match (or submission wrestling match) ending with a technique similar to this I would really appreciate it if you posted a link, never seen it pulled off in a match.

  • look up ken shamrock, or Royce Gracie, im positive they will have a highlight of it.

  • Sometimes I feel Knee bars and seperations should be taken out of mixed martial arts because of the damage they inflict with such a minimal amount of pressure. They can wreck your knee for life if you get caught by one badly.

  • as opposed to arm bars, kimuras, etc.? There will always be a high risk in MMA, it is kinda a gimmie when someone is trying to KO/submit you.

  • this looks gay

  • Karo would kick your ass and steal your girlfriend dude. Grow up.

  • So do inkblots, to some people...

  • this is a great instructional clip. it's nice to see a judo person explaining a leg lock technique, as our judo dojo doesn't practice any sort of leg locks.

it would be nice if more judo dojo's taught judo from more of a self-defense approach instead of just a sport approach...where you would learn the leg-locks and wrist-locks, but just not be allowed to use them in randori.

  • if someone does an ankle lock on you properly you wont be able to "scoot up." because there foot would be planted on your inner thigh in stead of spooning your leg

  • i dont think thats really a kneebar. its more of a calf crush, i think. cool move.

  • Technically it's a knee separation but still classified as a knee bar as taught by Gene Labell

  • Interesting submission...not one that I have learned in my BJJ dojo

  • your not bordering ignorance yoru just flat out ignorant "bordering gayness" get a clue

  • Good knee-bar but at the end they stayed on the floor a little to long bordering gayness.

  • How about you become the practice dumbhead and let him break your knee with that technique.

Let's see who's going to show "gayness"!

  • your all faggots fo sho

  • "your all faggots fo sho" Fucking grow up you fucking "hip hop" listening discrase, fucking middle school kid!

  • you wouldnt be talking if someone seperated your shoulder from your body in under a second, and anyone practicing judo for 2 years can do that easily

  • ...How?

  • the video is a little weird but its good teaching-wise

  • someone who sees ground fighting and automatically says its gay should be questioning thier own sexuality
