I have a EeePC and it's a neat computer. You can install fldigi, which should allow you to run digimodes like PSK31. However, I've ran into some problems with the sound output at the headphone jack having some distortion, which keeps me from wanting to put it on the air. I'm not sure if it's a defect with my particular PC, or the software and drivers on the EeePC. There is some potential for this to make a good portable ham PC, but there's still kinks to be worked out.
Glad someone has figured out PSK31 for the Asus. As mentioned, I'm using my Asus EeePC mainly as an Internet appliance and for logging my radio contacts.
Thanks for sharing. I have a small Dell X1 that has 1GB RAM, a 40GB HDD and weighs in at a mere 2.5 pounds. It appears to be about the same size as the ASUS. I have PSK31 installed and this little laptop fits right into my pack for portable or backpacking trips.
Thanx for your comments. Not sure about PSK31 apps for the Asus, but I'm sure someone will find a way. I'm telling you, I love this little wonder. Why did it take so long for the industry to go this route? 73 from AI4QT
