I was here in 2008. It was such a great experience. When I pass I want to be six feet above ground just like Bob. I remember kneeling down in front of his grave. It was very spiritual. R.I.P Robert Nesta Marley..
wow this is truly history was here at bob,s home in 2008 truly was an experience 4 me one that i would never forget long live the king of reggae gone but will never ever be forgotten
i was there in 94', it wasn't so touristic then.went with a localand it was realy mellow, saw and talked with the family. even visited peter toshes grave, a shame the way he's burried!
u have no right touching Bob Marley's Piano! Would u like it if someone came to ur house and started messing with ur stuff? And its not a place to play around with our memorys of him!
Actually I was invited to play the piano while there. Music is about sharing, which Bob was all about of course. And, I would have loved for Bob to come over and "mess with my stuff" any day, especially if we were jammin'. :)
@MrTuffgongrecords Too true, however I'm cool with that - their father earned that right for them. As a musician myself, I support copyright protection. In fact, the Marley's are making money right now if you happen to click on the google ad that accompanies this video, lol. Peace.
its fine that his father worked hard for his kids to have a life but they sue for everything, not too long ago nine of his kids sued bobs half-brother because he planned on using bobs music and symbols for a festival to raise canned food for the poor. three of his kids that were supposed to help with that festival sued him too. its one thing to defend the work your father did but to ruin his legacy is another.
@MrTuffgongrecords Hmm, I didn't hear about that, sounds unfortunate. Money has a mean streak, that's for sure. Makes Bob's song "One Love" even more powerful.
@iusechopstiks He would love the fact that so many people enjoy and love his music to this day. And he would also be honored that so many people from all around the globe have come to visit his home out of respect and admiration. The fact that you posted such an idiotic post shows that you haven't a clue what Bob Marley was all about. One Love One Life Mon.
I'll be in Ocho Rios in about a month.. you mention the name "Curtis" in the vid description..i am curious.. is he your tour guide? I've read on several travel blogs that there is a guy named CUrtis from Ocho Rios who does tours.. by chance is that him?
I'm surprised that they are allowing cameras on the grounds now... when I was a kid and I went there no cameras were allowed. By the way I lived less than a half hour drive from Nine Miles
This is really a must-do for any Marley fan or music lover traveling in Jamaica. It's definitely better to go with a local tour guide or small group of friends. If staying in the Ocho Rios area, there's tour called "Spirit of Reggae" which offers insight into the Rastafari religion and culture. Ya mon.
just got back when i went in june. most amazing place ever. have to go on local person tour up their rather then tour bus. every person smoked on our tour, specially in the church. it rainned the whole time. never know which family member is up there at the time there is always one to run the place so its a bonus also. unbeleiveable to see where bob lays to rest. his grave is huge. hanging out in the church by myself with tht tour guide, was something ill never forget
i would like to visit bob marley's grave. i will love bob marley forever !
