Referee Joe Cortez stopped the fight pre maturely.Fighters should decide to continue or not,Haugen didn't cower & yell out said "i quit".Boxers train for at least 2 months & go more than 30 rds of sparring just to be stopped too soon & not really having the chance to turn the fight around.Boxing is a cruel way to earn a living. Chavez is only overrated by Mexican media. I believe Chavez is in the top 20 of all time. Top 5 in the past 30 years. He's no Duran, but nonetheless a great champion.

This was Chavez at his cruelest. It seemed every time he hurt Haugen he would then let up to allow Greg to take a bigger beating. I disagree partly lateral movement gave Chavez trouble later in his career true. but Whittaker gave everybody trouble (except Trinidad) he couldn't KO anybody but had speed for days. This was Chavez at his cruelest. It seemed every time he hurt Haugen he would then let up to allow Greg to take a bigger beating. I disagree partly lateral movement gave Chavez trouble later in his career true. but Whittaker gave everybody trouble (except Trinidad) he couldn't KO anybody but had speed for days. Taylor got destroyed the second time and Randell wasn't quick at all he was big and somewhat fast. lastly Delahoya never had defensive speed he had a shotgun jab and good foot work but was too big and young for Chavez He also had no class after winning that fight

Speculate all you want. You have no proof. The fight happened over 20 years ago and you won't let it go. Taylor fought his ass off and still got demolished - TWICE. You have no hard evidence, and Taylor was beaten beyond recognition. It was a huge part of the reason why he wasn't the fighter he was before that fight. He was that badly physically damaged then. You see him try to speak now? A huge part of that was Chavez's power shots. Come to terms with reality, kid.

It's called inspecting a fighter and seeing if he's fit to go on. It doesn't matter by what margin you lose by, a loss is a loss. Richard Steele didn't even know how close the fight was to finishing because he was too distracted by the intense punishment that Chavez was giving Taylor. If you actually watched the documentary and paid attention to it, it said he'd take home a SPLIT decision. All these declarations you're making about Don King and a wide UD are coming out of thin air.
