  • The front tine tillers are "CRAP"! If you want a great tiller try Troy built rear tine tillers!!

  • Huh? Front tine are a lot better then rear tine.

  • nope, sorry, having used both in a (tongue-in-cheek) professional capacity, I can tell you that rear-tined tiller are muuuuuuch better.

and 99Miner is talking about Troy-Bilt Tillers from when TroyBilt was TroyBilt...MTD owns them now and pumps out crap.

look for "Troy-Bilt Horse" for the "real" ones

  • saabstorey - thak you for the reply, but I think its a matter of preference. Kinda like ford or chevy.

  • bcs tillers are a million times better than troy built

  • troy built is nothing but cheap made in china junk, motor seized up on me the first day i used it

  • Or a MATTOCK even. Just a little spelling mistake. But yeah, its free and a good MATTOCK can be passed on to grandchildren, mine is still going strong and it was bought in the 60s

  • I have a matic, does the job 10 times slower but costs nothing to run + great exercise. Break the job into small sections, rather than entire rows :)

  • Ever try an electric tiller? I have not but they are $200 and if they work well it could be well worth it electric appliances last longer require far less maintence. Not to mention the fuel cost some home gardens can be cared for this way I bet it would be easy to convert an old gas to electric neat project to consider if you have a busted gas one. We have a neighbor that can't read nor write but she is an earner because she built her own green house and sells plants and grows her own food.

  • Sometimes I garden at the back of a 10 acre field. One gallon of gas is a lot easier to carry then a generator, or a 1/4 mile of extension cords.

  • There is a lawn shop here that has a used craftsman Brigs&St5.5 with reverse for $225. The tines still have a lot of paint on them. It looks like it has little use and when the man started it I saw no smoke. My only reason to go electric is my place is small and can get by with an electric and less maintence is a plus but the lack of power is not. I need to get a trailer for my scion XB if I am going to get into a garden. Ever see a tiller with reverse?

  • Gotta love them tillers... :) Nice sun glasses by the way Kev. Gotta look sharp ;)

But I second Josiah922's remarks. Love to see your input on which tiller you find the best, and why.

  • Love the videos, such a wide variety of topics.

  • Kev!!! Where's the boonie cover! Don't loose your trademark, not even in public! Just kidding!

  • Would have loved to see your take on the different tiller types and maybe some advice on buying them. As always love the vids!!!
