I so remember watching the GreatDragonGaiking translated to the Space Dragon movie. I never seen the tv series but boy that was a good anime. Sure did not know it was a 1976 made that long agon. This anime to me it looked like it was made in the 80s when I first saw looked at it. The Japanese were sure more advanced in anime then the Americans were with their cartoons that for sure. Thanks for the upload Miaccount bowing my head to you. I love all your postings of the history of anime robots.

What is obvious from this comp clip series is that in the west during the 70's & 80's we tended to get

the best anime like Gatchaman/BOTP ,Ulysses 31,Gundam etc and were fortunately spared the

derivative avalanche of shite this comp illustates so well;And why(apart from Gatch/U31) can't the Japanese employ good songwriters for Theme tunes?Or Failing that

keep BOB SAKUMA in conyinuous employment?

i seriously got tearful watching this... i recognize almost all of them (and had the toys) and i literally have not seen any of these cartoons for over 30 yrs

i didnt even know the names of the shows or robots (i was like 3), but i had just about every one of the robots in form or another (Bandai die cast metal, large plastics, even those little mini-comic books etc)... all lost forever
