My Comcast modem takes about 30 seconds to boot up, but that really doesn't determine how fast your internet is. I would go as far to say that the longer your modem takes to boot up the faster your internet is. I bet the fios you have is faster then the speeds I get with Comcast's highest package. 1.) don't turn it off.
2.) boot time has nothing to do with speed of the service, Look below!
3.) MAX throughput FiOS Fiber 2400mb/s down 1200mb/s up.
4.) MAX throughput Cable DOCSIS 3.0
38mb/s X max of 8 channels = 304mb/s down Max, 27mb/s X max of 4 channels = 108mb/s up Max.

comcast is in no way faster than fios.... maybe high spedd internet from verizon but not fios....
