@UltraComboer The Haunted Mansion at Disneyland is probably the most detailed and well thought out attraction in history, it's the reason that it has lasted over 40 years and continues to remain popular. Anyone with the slightest eye for art will be able to appreciate what it has to offer. Ask anyone in the business of making Halloween attractions, they will all tell you that the Haunted Mansion was a huge inspiration for them.
I hope this movie focuses on the inhabitants, and not some boring teen who gets trapped inside or something stupid and cliche' like that. Would suck if it's just a re-hash of Alice set in a haunted house with some brunette instead of blonde screaming, "Oh my God! What should we do now?!" with a helpful companion at her side for 90 minutes. blegh
@UltraComboer: No. It's not just nostalgia. It is a unique experience. And, in knowing the various stories told over the years and being a huge fan since it first opened, I am sure Del Toro will do the Mansion and its 999 grim grinning happy haunts proud!
I enjoy it because it has a great atmosphere. It dark, but not horror. Not a really scary ride for an adult, but a great place to let your imagination go wild.

@UltraComboer .. it is great... but i think its great if you ride it more than once.. if you ride it just once.. you'll probs be a little "Was that it?" but you need to do abit of research and ride it a few times to get how he feels. x
You GO,del Toro---work your magic and wipe from our memories that crummy,kid-friendly,Eddie-Murphy-starring,pop-tune-over-the-closing-credits-having,angel-and-hell-invoking,generally abysmally LOUSY attempt at a movie based on one of the greatest theme park attractions of all time!!!!!
@ctdsnark Get em Toro! :D You'll SWEEP the stage away! ^_^
Also, I think it's great that he's using The Hatbox Ghost as a primary character in the movie. I love The Hatbox Ghost, but I don't have any photos D:
@UltraComboer I think it is, because its a classic Disney park attraction and has been a favorite since its opening in 1969. And for kids its either scary or fun. But Everyone i know loves the ride. I think it truly depends on the individual.
I hope he will base it more off of Phantom Manor.

@haypoopnugget I know. Phantom Manor is essentially Haunted Mansion, but with much more added to it.
