AC is way better. Its not to hot and if it gets to hot, you have the beach right there. It has amazing shopping and dinning spots. And its not far from NYC,Philly, DC and Baltimore. AC is the way to go
Well I love Las vegas, but A.C. is closer to me, and it has a decent beach, but Las Vegas is more spectacular. Like, A.C. is more of a weekend getaway, and Vegas is more of a long vacation joint. so i like vegas more but ac is sooo cooll.
@ItalianLoco True, but I lived at AC now I'm in Vegas, if you get bored here the Hoover Dam is 45min away, lake mead is 45 min away, Mount Charleston (you can go skiing and Camping) is 30 min away, Valley of fire is an hour away, Red Rock Canyon is an hour away, Hollywood is 2 hours away, Mount Zion National Park is 2 hours away...etc.
@dgreatll From Atlantic City the nations capital is an hour away, New York is half an hour away, you can go sking and hking in the poconos about 1 1/2 hours away, There are tons of cruises that depart nearby,etc. Location-wise Atlantic City is much better, but, Las Vegas itself is many times better, but, it would be more fair to compare Atlantic City to Reno, or Downtown Las Vegas.
Vegas has at least triple the casino & hotel space, but can get REAL HOT in summer. Atlantic City on the other hand has a beach and boardwalk, making it a perfect all-around vacation spot during the summer.
Both places get great entertainment too. Vegas obviously has more of that, but it's not really a major concern for most visitors of AC anyway because most live near NYC.
Hollywood chooses Vegas because its bigger and better and plus an hour plane ride away! And why go to A.C when you can go to a tropical paradise and take a boat ride out and gamble!
All celebrities goes to and love las vegas! A.C is cool and close to other major cities but the coast line isnt as great as the Pacific coast (West). Las Vegas wins by Weather! It rarely rains. The High Desert is beautiful and an hour away you can ski!
The Boardwalk is cool and scenic but The Strip is Original! (it may of been named after Sunset Strip but it is Different) better than Times Square and and the Sign is Original! The hOtels are large and beautiful! and Las Vegas is actually a city! over a million in the Valley! If the Mob liked it, the celebrities, then it is the Place!

I've been to both. My assessment:
Las Vegas 10 months out of the year
Atlantic City 2 months out of the year
Vegas has at least triple the casino & hotel space, but can get REAL HOT in summer. Atlantic City on the other hand has a beach and boardwalk, making it a perfect all-around vacation spot during the summer.
