I have a 73 Vega Wagon I am almost done building. It has a mild 406 and a TH350 with a narrowed 9" 4.56 gear ladder bar w/ coil overs. Big tire car...backhalved. 14 pt cage. 400 bored .030, World Sportsman II heads 2.02 1.60 .571 lift cam Eagle Crank stk rods. Should be pretty fast when we are done. Will post vids when I get it running.
I bought the trans used from a friend. He was running a GNX motor in a vega at the strip with it. Only had about 7 passes with it, then he went to a 4 speed auto.
its a 6 cylinder stock 3800 block t-5 turbo stage 4 racing clutch full out limited slip differential n i put a slap stick in it. i drive it to work every day its basicly a 10 second street car. but one more question i need to ask y does yer car slip i mean arent those slicks u have on there or jus drag radials it shouldent really slip much its rear wheel drive.
The rear tires are Mickey Thompson Sportsmans. Just a regular street compound with a regular D.O.T legal tread, so they spin quite easily. And the car only weighs about 2700# and most of that weight is in front.
y does yer redline come so quick its only at 6000 rpm my redline starts at about 8000 rpm but i shift at 9000 rpm cuz i cant shift that fast man 1st n 2nd gear are crazy then 3rds not bad but then 4th is were i get all my speed from cuz that when the boost kicks in the most
Ya gotta remember this is just a mild small block V8. If it was a full race motor the redline would be higher. The rpms come up quick cause of tire slippage.
not bad not bad but u really need to take it to the track man to time it see what it can do u would be suprised man the first time i went to the track to time my grand prix did 10.70 n i was suprised dident think it would do it the only customization i did was turbo charge it put lsd raise the boost to 25 pounds put a wheelie bar for more traction n put a set a slicks on it next thing i gunna do to it is put a 150 shot a nitrious then see what she can do right now she makes 660 hp 750 torque

you might need to set your tach to about 6000 on the redline you have much more power to use than you think
