@TNATNA100 Here's a tip: You can try to craft your own map as you go through the game. Include doors and you'll be able to see what you've missed in a glance.

That bomb wasn't too efective, you have to go back to do the same thing on Super Metroid

I cant freeze the metroids, I have the wave beam, am I screwed or can I get the ice beam back? Cause I cant even make it to the last boss, metroids destroy me instantly

@JBOTTSIOWA You need to freeze beam to freeze them. The wave beam does next to nothing.

@JBOTTSIOWA You can go back and get the ice beam in the same area you got it last time. Whenever you change beams, you have to go to that spot again to get it back.

@JBOTTSIOWA I think you can head back to the place where youfirst got your Ice Beam, or the place closest to you anyway, cause there's two of them, and it will be back on the Chozo Statue and you can switch.

That trick where you unroll and freeze the metroids just as they grab you...are you able to do that playing normal speed? I'm just wondering if it might be worth putting in the time to learn it so I can wow my friends.

@Sh1ntoe It usually works while falling since the position of the metroid is a little laggy so it is easy to be caught then released. Anything is possible at normal speed :)

i've only ever beated both the mini bosses once but i was never good enough to get past the metroid, its so sad x.x

plus it sucks that every time you die, you only respawn with 30 hp, i hate the makers but i love the game, messed up stuff there

@TheKairon999 I agree about the starting health. The game should give you at least a full tank. I don't even want to know how many people developed anxiety problems while just trying to beat mother brain.

@theprzmostfin3zt I do not know whether you were just joking (i kind of sounded like it), but if not please get you facts straight. The man character is not "Metroid" but is called Samus Aran. Metroids are those large jelly-like creatures that you fight against near the end of the level.

If you get caught by like 3 metroids at a time, what's the best way to get them off. I tried the morph ball, but I ended up dying.

@BIGBMH Bomb like crazy and after about 5-6 bombs they will release off of you for a couple seconds. While they are separated from you freeze them, then take them out with missiles.

This is by far the most irritating boss i have ever tried to beat. on counting from this video thats about 50 fucking rockets. i usually make it there with about 30 *sigh*

@rockgod111 30 rockets wouldn't even make it through mother brain even if you made it all of the way to her. It takes exactly 32 rockets to beat it (i used 35 due to 3 not damaging her).

Very Nice. I didn't use these videos (I was going by maps I found on the internet) and I think my problem was was that I picked up the second ice beam while I was still using the first Ice beam. Those Metroids are a bitch with the wave beam.

@murmanerik Great job murmanerik. And thanks for your comments and questions throughout the rest of my walkthrough. And I'm surprised you didn't have enough bombs your first try. How many did you have? It takes 34 to kill it and I would guess another 50 for doors and recreational use.

@weirwindle111 i was playing this on an emulator and there was an option to slow down the speed on the game, i did that cuz it was such a pain for me to try to kill mother brain without it. i kept dying... but the other two bosses i beat without slowing down the speed of the game.

@supersmashman9999 Depending on the emulator you can do more than just slow down. You can also play through with frame advance, which allows you to pause the game and increment it by 1 frame (1/60th of a second) at a time.

With some regular controllers for the original nintendo console there were two extra buttons used for firing every other frame, which is pretty much what I did to kill Kraid and Ridley.
