first song i heard by them. i was a 14 year old freshman in 2006. oddly enough i ran away from home because of problems with my mother and stayed I with a friend. this is the song she had playing when we arrived at her place. When it was over I asked her to play it again and again and again and i fell asleep with these lyrics in my head. it all made so much sense back then. I will always love this song.

this song is really sad.. when i was little me, my younger sister and younger brother lived with our mom and step dad, they did meth all the time.. my mom didn't even know he was abusing me and my sister and emotionally scarring my brother. we were taken away from her when i was in fifth grade. and were in foster care for a while.i hated my mom for letting all that happen to me and my siblings. she didn't even notice or pay much attention when the tide came in and swept her three into the ocean.

I'm not sure about anyone else but when I first really listened to the song, aka read the lyrics... The 3rd verse/chorus made me cry really hard.
