Acton Bridge is amazing for freights! You've got the original WCML freights plus it is situated not far from the big container station on the Runcorn/Widnes border plus also the Liverpool Docks trains sometimes get diverted via here and run round just south of the station. Cheers Mike!

I understand your relative would work for an agency or be his own boss and make money of whatever he sells? I was disgusted they don't work for the TOC as this denies them rights to join RMT, and all the other perks of being a member of the the railway family.

True, but to be honest it isnt a bad job. He dosent get profit on sales, and it isnt his business, however, he is allowed free travel on the trains he works on, so an nice trip to Manchester or Birmingham, he can get free!

I don't mate, I work on the other side of the wire - I'm rail staff, so I don't really get time.

We get the Specials etc coming through our station and even to this day I'll always remember young children and thier dads, granddads etc stood waiting for half hour in the rain. When it did come through it was worth the wait!

Ah yes, so with that occupation I dont think they'll allow cameras at work anyway. Good job things like that, but if for me it would be a rail job, i'd choose actually on the trains, instead of being in stations. My cousin (ilovetrains2008) works the Liverpool-Birminghams and Liverpool-Sheffield/Norwich runs on the Innovation Food Trolleys, but it seems it is a hellfire but long hours (tiring) job. Cheers
