That little part of the interview I think really sums up Meryl perfectly.When he asked that question he was referring to her astonishing career and she took "all the good things" to mean her family.That right there just shows what's really important to her and it just makes her such a beautiful person to me.

wow this is one of the greatest Meryl interviews ever. i just love her way of thinking and listening to this showed me yet another side of her and made me adore her even more... charlie rose also is a very good interviewer, because he just lets people talk without interrupting all the time.

It's a sort of Inside the Actors Studio-interview, and even though Meryl's always amazing and has such profound thoughts and looks at life in an astonishing way, it's these interviews that truly portrays it. Pure magic.

Charlie Rose spent more time on Nora than he did on Meryl. What's the point of that? Didn't they realise that many of us saw this movie only because Meryl was in it?

Probably because this was more Nora's movie than it was Meryl's, it was Nora's joy of cooking and her fascination for Julia Child. She wrote the script, it was her vision. (Although I do agree with you, more Meryl's always the way to go.)
