I think this question was a bit tactless, actually, it was a direct question about her privatel life. I wouldn't like to tell everybody about my feelings too, especially those deep and hidden on purpose. So it's quite natural that she tried to avoid it.
I have read comments talking about her reaction to the Rambling Man explanation being really rude. I don't see anything wrong with it at all, she's clearly not up for analysing all her songs for other people, or explaining her inner feelings to complete strangers but she does do her best to explain-maybe just not very well. I see absolutely nothing rude about that.
No idea why anyone would think that Laura was being rude here. Even less so the idea that she was arrogant! She just didn't want to explain what the song was about. But she'd just sang it, that should be explanation enough. Like any worthwhile piece of art (music, painting, whatever) it should speak for itself. Nothing wrong with asking the question, but people should surely respect her right not to spell the whole thing out.
I really cannot see any arrogance in what she says, nor in the way she answers the questions. To me she's a complete opposite of what you accuse her of, she seems to be a humble, gentle person, not necessarily eager to fully reveal everything the interviewer wants to know, and that's certainly not a bad feature.
I wouldn't say she was rude, prickly or arrogant. She is a professional musician not a professional interviewee. She just doesn't seem to be a particularly forward person, but I would say laura's quite charming.
@banksiasong I don't really think she comes across as arrogant, just as an artist who is shy and uncomfortable with the media/promotional aspects of the music industry. To be honest, I think she seems pretty charming.
She is 20. She did warm up and get more comfortable in the interview after that initial hiccup, as did the interviewer. Some artists make it part of their brand, hope she won't, but she is awesome. Great to support young talented women who know their folk fusions.
Rude and prickly!? Arrogance comparable to Dylan!? Was I actually watching the same interview as you? All I saw was a sweet, talented and humble girl who was understandably hesitant to divulge her innermost thoughts behind her song to complete strangers!!
@utubalicious2 Sorry, but there are many much better songwriters than Laura although She is good. She is really a female Donovan and not much better than that! My opinion, but even these lyrics are very similar to a Donovan song!

The interviewer is excellent, she's almost like a counsellor in the gentle, listening way.

I love how strong she is when she's singing, but almost shy when talking about it. Her songs are her true core and it's beautiful <3
