hey man, that was an awesome cover!!! and a nice guitar as well :-) if you like Chimp Spanner you might want to check out my tune on my channel, all HD djentiness ;-) cheers
@PeteygRaves you gotta put out a regular tab for this since you cant put 8 on guitar pro. I want to learn this bad boy. I just got my eight string and love chimp spanner and love the way you play.
@CoolKabbage Yeah in a couple of places, one of the things I love about Chimp Spanner is that it doesn't just hog the lowest string, Paul really uses the instrument very well.
@richardleisawesome Yeah most of what I play tends to be a challenge when learning and perfecting. In fact I was still getting this track pretty wrong a lot of the time when I uploaded it, but I did so in a hurry because I was due to move back to Bristol the day afterwards.
But yeah I enjoy learning things which are a challenge, it's what makes me better as a player, a transcriber and inevitably as a composer after unraveling other peoples composition techniques.
Gotta ask, did you ever consider Painkillers? I'd like to get that modern djent sound with my RGA8 but am still not sure if I should go for Cold Sweats or Painkillers?
great cover dude, loving your work, i own this guitar but yet to change my pickups still undecided about Emg 808 Seymour blackouts or Cold sweat, im looking for a real meshuggah, tight and clear but great with gain, any help ?
I read that you've got the Cold Sweats in there. Does that EQ switch still work? I've got an RGA8 also and can't stand the stocks, so I'm looking for something to switch them out with. I like the rings around the pups, but that looks like it might've required super longs screws or retro-fitting. Sick cover, by the way.
@countskippy I found that had very little need or use for the EQ switch, so I had it swapped for a 3 way coil split switch instead when I made the pickup swap.
@TriviumSamurai For the most part yes, there were a couple of parts which are buried in Pauls typically airtight mix where I had to resort to his video to see where his fingers were going.
Is there a tab for this? Because i must learn this!!! If so thanks!!!

ok so i noticed the tuning question. I want the answer... Is it standard for the 8 or did you drop it..
toddlauzon88 7 months ago
@toddlauzon88 The tuning is, from low to high pitch, F# B E A D G B E, just standard tuning on an 8.

Has anyone noticed that Pete Graves, Peter Griffin and Paul Gilbert have the same first and last initials, and each one of them is badass.

I have seen a ton of videos on youtube about people playing 2228s and rga8s.
The funny thing is that I can tell that the BKPs sound mush better than the EMGs, just from this single video. Great playing btw.
