A responsible breeder will not RIP their kids off their moms so young. the mothers love thier babies. Some people yank kids at birth and send them home on the bottle because they are too LAZY to take thier time to tame them. I feel it is irresponsible. All my kids are dam raised and friendly. It is healthier this way. If you take them home on the bottle, you risk acidosis and other belly issues, and possibly a dead baby.

most likely you should not buy one from her. No offense that is a great goat. But you should never buy a goat that is over an 8 hour drive. and babies tend to cost around 150 from a high class breeder. but here in texas there are many goats to buy. If you want me to hook you up with one for about 75 from a nice old fella named tyke, give me a phone numer and I will contact you. ( not to be mean but please do not reply back it you live very far away from texas. Reccomended 16 hour tops. no more.

Soo cute! I have 9 goats and I bottle fed 4 of them.people choose to bottle feed them so they are more friendly.They just milk tthe mom and give some of the milk to the baby(s).It also gives you a chance to monitor the feeding

My good friend Faye Craigen, of Newcstle upon tyne, has sucessfully bred some rare afghan goats. We had a great harvest last year, almost a tonn on a rarther small farm. Yeilding far higher than the common pygmys.

The afghans can take a lot more working as well, often doing a 13 hours shift, the pygmys would be dead and rectally tattered!

is the reason you are you bottle feeding the goat is the mother tried to kill it after she gave birth to it, thats what happened to me exept my was not a pygmy it is a nubian/fainter cross. And she tried to kill the first born and she gave birth to twins she likes one but hates the other.

they take away the baby goat from my and only a couple of weeks in some places to send the kids to slaughter so that the milk can be taken for commercial use, yogurt etc. We took on 15 kids who were up for slaughter and reared them on bottles then found pet homes for them.

You have to get them that young or they'll never imprint on you. If they don't imprint, they're never any fun to have around.

Sorry for the delay. Basically, you find somebody who has a pregnant goat, and arrange to take it ahead of time. Then you just have to feed it formula until it's time to ween.

it's not that easy I have raised over 500 of them. it is bst to get them around six weeks of age from a reputable breeder with friendly does. baby pygmies can be stressed very easily when they are little which can make bottle feedig difficult. you can imprint them untill two months of age you just have to spend a lot of time with them. i have my own business raising pygmies and have only had to bottle feed one set of triplets, the mother was to weak to care for them, she was a rescue.
