@Zamudiokid The latest dvd commentary I bought notes that fatso is actually a latent homosexual. The producer wanted to do an extended version with the lives of the people afterwards. This guy, not surprisingly, ends up in a death row cell with another inmate who's raping him. This is next to the other cell which contained a new villain that the producer wanted to focus on. I just found that tidbit quite amusing considering the call back to this particular scene.

Well if you remember it was part of the "Cyberpunk collection" by Manga video, and it was all released on video tape!!

I owned all of Cyber city Oedo808, and I think that is the most fondly remembered of the three series, the other being AD police.

I really wish i'd purchased this though.

I never thought of Akira when i first saw this. I guess one could say this is like a combination of Bio-Booster Armor Guyver OVA and Akira OVA. You've got the cool mecha designs, psionic powers, and ultra violence/depravity, but without any of the character development or charm. The first Genocyber OVA caught my attention, but I was disappointed with the sequels. It just didn't go anywhere.
