Ricky and Louis are my favourite comedians but he definately nails ricky's laugh and louis CK's voice but his english accent is hilariously bad lol. The most interesting bit though is when he talks about Ck's offensive jokes and how he doesn't know how he gets away with it, that's why gervais and CK are funnier because they aren't afraid to say anything.

Louis CK never said he hired a boxing trainer FOR his HBO special. He just said he's working out, and one way to work out is by doing boxing training. I have friends who do that. It has nothing to do with being a comedian or anything.

why is it that all impressions are pejorative? for example, jay's impression of louis and ricky was indeed right on, however, he made the funniest comedians sound dumb as shit. i mean, both ricky and louis are awesome, but that's exactly how they talk and behave, and coming from jay's mouth it made them look silly somehow. @Darkez982 Ray Liotta is not a good interviewee. He simply doesn't do well in that sort of improv setting. I've heard other interviews with him(including a radio interview) and he wasn't charismatic at all. He's like Robert De Niro except he's able to actually form a coherent sentence.
Jay Mohr played the part of the guy that keeps the conversation going and deflects attention off the reserved, quiet guy. Saved that fucking dud.

Mohr was right, but sadly he didn't see the entire picture. He's simply not in the same league as Gervais & CK. What he saw as elitism was really his not being able to shed light on comedy the way the other two can.
Jimmy (who is a hilarious comedian) is also not quite in their league either but he was able to hang in there and still be cool and funny. Mohr unfortunately comes off as a gossiping girl trying to start a revolt against the popular cheerleaders.

Yeah I just listened to the show Jay is referring is referring to. Everybody in the room was being funny and getting points in except for Jay. He had every opportunity to be funny but he just choked for some reason. All the "shutting him out" bullshit is in his head. If he didn't like Louis' comment about Seinfeld being a virtuoso or his boxing trainer he could have called him out while he was right there. Instead he calls O&A back when Louis can't talk back to him, clearly Jay is scared.

The "bullshit" he called Louis on is baseless. Jay said 4 years ago, Louis would go after another comic for having a boxing trainer train them for specials when the fact is that Louis has always used a boxing trainer to train him for his specials. Ross Brockley, a guy who opened for Louis in 2004, talked about it on his blog.

Love CK and Gervais, (much more than Jay), but the impression was spot on. Still, I don't know what the hell he is talking about with Ricky, Gervais and Seinfeld stroking each others balls. CK and Gervais are good friends, of course they are going to laugh at each others dumb jokes. And Seinfeld, like him or not, is a comedy legend and even if he does the same routine, his show was unique and equivalent to tons of hours of original stand up material.

Jay is so full of shit. I listened to the show. Jay barely says anything, but that's not because they were being rude to him- it's because he just had nothing to contribute. Jimmy and Ron say plenty- Ron had the "bad dog" line, not Louie. Ricky does his psychotic laugh EVERY time Jimmy opens his mouth (literally).
Jays just pissed that he couldn't keep up in a room full of comic geniuses, so he takes it out on the two best comics alive. For shame.

in the original interview, I do remember thinking it was weird that c.k. was defending Paul Reiser and was so hostile to Mohr. I don't really care for Mohr, but god why would Paul Reiser's version of Curb Your Enthusiasm ever get the the benefit of the doubt from someone as legit as Louis. Although, Jay is neglecting to mention that Louis did like Jay's "half-slices" joke and Nick Nolte impression.
