Yes they can. My mother had an outstanding bill from a previous visit to an ER. She sat in the ER for hours without any treatment until my father could get a hold of me on the telephone to send him the money western union so that she could get any treatment at all. This was in Georgia.

There are several conservative plans. For one, they believe moer capitalism will help the economy so much that most people will then be able to afford healthcare. They also support tort reform aimed at lowering the costs of insurance. They have other plans.

The way it is ran in Wisconsin (I know it's a blue state) is the state uses a PRIVATE company (Grouphealth, I think). It is still kept private and it only covers people that can't afford it themselves. I think that is how it should be run. It is kept private and no one is forced to buy it. With Obama's plan, even the young healthy people that don't feel they need health insurance are forced to buy something they don't want.

I've already have and I'm waiting to see what happens next. It was quite terrible to witness too. She had screamed for at least solid three hours and then she was quiet. It took the staff 20 minutes to realize that she had passed away and after a failed attempt to revive her, they seemed almost jovial that it was quiet again. Noteworthy is that this woman's roommates had waited 3 whole days before bringing her in because she had no health insurance.
