Thank you for the advice. First solo cross country tomorrow if weather holds KAGC KUNV. Cessna 172. Want to definitely try a 182 my school has one but I think they want me to have PPL before I go up in it. Feeling more confident with the landings can handle higher winds/ x winds.
I soloed for the first time saturday landings were greasers today winds were 15G25 tried with my instructor to attempt a landing and had to go around as it felt like I was gonna slam in the ground..today I feel like I never flew a plane..oh well always another time. Good job!
Congratulations on your solo! Trying to land an airplane in winds of 15G25 are a challenge. Cudows to your CFI for taking you up in those conditions. There will be plateaus and valleys while you take your lessons. If you just soloed, you are now prepping for your cross country solo. You will feel like a true pilot when you do that. Have fun and fly safe!
I fly out of 06C. This was a very challenging landing. Notice the stall warning went off a couple of times while on final. As a student, learn from this video to keep your speed a little faster when you have gusty and/or cross winds. I should have made my approach a little faster. This was my second attempt to land, and if I did not land this time, I would have diverted.
